What will you be doing?
You will work closely with the Head of Mentoring to organise the events throughout the months. We are a very small team and have a lot of volunteers onboard who bring their skills and experience to drive the charity forward. We are doing a big recruitment drive this summer over some key dates - mental health awareness week, body dismorphia awareness day, volunteering week and the big help out.
So it is only fitting that we enroll others to use their experience to be there for others and volunteer with us. We are looking for someone with the below experience and skills to bring this to life.
This includes:

- organising meetings
- help coordinating dates and planning
- working with CEO on timing and delivery
- able to attend in person events (ideally!) to help on hand on the days of talks

On Tuesday 18th June, the London Legal Support Trust (LLST) will host the London Legal Walk for a very special 20th time, bringing the legal community together to commemorate this anniversary and raise funds for free legal advice agencies across London and the South East.
Last year, over 16,000+ legal professionals from over 900 organisations took on the challenge. To make this event a success, we are on the look-out for 1 day event marshals to join one of the largest single day fundraising events in the country and add value to the thousands of event attendees.
The event is attended by high ranking judiciary, the President of the Law Society, the Lady Chief Justice and hundreds of London's top law firms. Want to be part of this special day and add skills to your CV? Take a look at some of the tasks below:
Tasks:
- You will be positioned at a “cheer point” along the 10km route where it will be your role to cheer and motivate walkers and offer support and encouragement as they go past. Your presence alone is enough to motivate thousands across the line, and ultimately raise as many funds as possible through a positive event experience. Regular email contact and a full brief in are provided so you are fully confident of supporting this event.
- Answer any questions walkers may have (you will be provided with an information pack about your point on the route).
- Other event stewards will support us in our cloakrooms and at the street party finish line on Carey Street.

Action Village India
Action Village India (AVI) is a small, UK-based charity that fundraises for Indian NGO partners to deliver programmes that will best assist the poorest and most marginalised sections of communities in rural India. AVI supports campaigns for social justice and equality on Gandhian principles of nonviolence.
You will be working hand-in-hand with a small and very agile team in the London office and as such the internship will be a fantastic opportunity to ground yourself in the basics of charity day-to-day administration, communication and event fundraising.
Working Information:
Location: London – Dalston Junction
Hours: 2 days per week plus attendance at WOMAD Festival 24-29th July 2024
Duration: 8-10 weeks. Internship to start early June (negotiable) and ending in the first week of August.

Job Purpose:
This internship will focus on developing an exhibition for WOMAD festival that highlights the work on Action Village India, and support the team during the weekend of WOMAD festival.
The biggest fundraising event we hold every year is Madras Café, held at Womad Festival at the end of July. Madras Café began its life as a Chai and leaflet stall over 30 years ago to help educate people about Action Village India and the difficulties people in rural India faced; today it is an established festival institution serving delicious Indian food to over 4000 people over three days. The Action Village India team holds a stall in the Madras Café tent selling ethical products made in India, showcasing our exhibition, and informing people about Action Village India. In the run up to the festival you will work on the development of the exhibition. During the festival you will be working with the Events Intern and staff to ensure a successful running of the stall and the exhibition. You will need to be available in the set up and weekend of the festival – 24-29th July 2024.
Main duties and responsibilities:
1. WOMAD Exhibition Support
§ Attend meetings on the planning of the exhibition
§ Research into the theme of the exhibition
§ Support with preparing, designing, creating and installing the exhibition

Terms of Internship:

As a Volunteer Events Assistant, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our mission by supporting in-person Teashop sessions. Each session brings together groups of up to 15 adults experiencing mild-to-moderate mental health symptoms, providing them with an enjoyable activity and an opportunity for connection in a supportive environment. We’ve offered dog therapy, art-making, yoga, and wellness discussions in the past.
Responsibilities:
- Create Eventbrite/Facebook/Instagram ads to draw new participants to future sessions.
- Assist with the setup and logistics of sessions for The Teashop service
- Travel to and support Teashop sessions by helping with materials, taking photos, and managing sign-in procedures, typically two sessions per month during weekends.
- Create engaging social media content to promote The Teashop sessions and build community awareness.
- If required, provide mental health first aid support by signposting and offering assistance to attendees in need.
- Collect feedback at the end of each session and input it into Excel spreadsheets.
Essential Criteria:

- Completed A-levels or equivalent
- Must possess a valid DBS check or be willing to have it done

Join in the party atmosphere in Dynamic Earth on Saturday Evening, with help needed from around 6 PM through till midnight. A busy period when our Walkers and Volunteers arrive en masse, from litter picking, to registering baggage, to handing out Volunteer uniforms or help managing the queues of excited Walkers, there is so much to get involved in!
The Night-Time is where the challenge really gets going for our amazing Walkers. If you like the nightlife, marshalling, or giving out water whilst surrounded by Edinburgh’s famous landmarks, this could be for you! Start times vary between 8 PM and midnight, depending on your role, and last on average 8 hours. We can also offer site-based roles at MoonWalk Arena throughout the night. Early finishes can of course be requested.
Finally, the early morning team take the helm on Sunday Morning, starting between 5-6 AM until midday. Watching the sunrise against an Edinburgh skyline is quite a sight to see! This truly is the most testing time for our Walkers… whether you join the route or MoonWalk Arena teams… your kind and motivating words could be all that is needed to get someone across that finish line!
On the night you will be provided with training, a t-shirt, cap and free light refreshments. All roles will develop teamwork and confidence, no matter what you do on the night… so why not bring your friends and family along to share this unique experience!

Community Initiatives & Events Volunteer
We’re looking for proactive volunteers who can get stuck into helping the Fundraising Team with developing fundraising activities.
Location: Dependent on campaign/initiative; mainly around Kent
Days: Ad-hoc to be agreed with Line Manager; events could include Christmas Lights Campaign, Christmas Tree Recycling Campaign, Hospitality Heroes

Role
As a Pot Collector and Leaflet Distribution Volunteer, you will play a vital role in maintaining ellenor's donation collection pots in the local area.
Key tasks may include:
- Introducing appropriate venues for different campaigns to Fundraising Team
- Identifying venues to Fundraising Team
- Flyer distribution to your local community (see Donation Pot and Leaflet Distribution Volunteer for full information)
- Christmas tree labelling at partner tree seller venues
- Identify collection pot locations (see Donation Pot and Leaflet Distribution Volunteer for full information)
Some key traits you will need as an Community Initiatives & Events Volunteer:

This position is opened to anyone with a keen interest in Friends of the Earth and its local campaigns in the borough of Camden. We are looking for someone interested in environmental and climate issues who enjoys organizing events!
Duties
The event coordinator will be informed about upcoming events and the duties will depend on the event.
Most common duties:

Communicating to the group of any upcoming events and our monthly meetings in our internal Whatsapp group.

Finding dates suitable for most of the group for hosting future events.

Creating Eventbrite posts for upcoming events.

Work closely with the Social Media Manager to promote the group´s events.

Take ownership for planning and logistics for the group´s events with the support of the coordinators.

Include in our monthly newsletter the upcoming events.
Person specification
Essential:
