We are BrightPIP, and we’re looking for our next Trustee.

Do you share our view that every baby deserves to grow up feeling safe, healthy, and loved? Do you understand how charities work? Are you good at leading small teams? 

We are now looking for an additional trustee to help drive the charity forward so it can help more babies and families. 

We would be interested to hear from people who have skills in the following areas to support our organisational growth and development: fundraising, marketing and communications.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Offer expertise in your specialist area of fundraising or marketing and communications.
• Support trustees to get involved in the areas where they can best contribute; and help recruit new trustees to fill skills gaps. 
• Help us to adopt best practice governance for a charity of our size and ambition.
• Act as a sounding board and critical friend for the Clinical Director.
• Represent the charity at occasional external meetings and events.
• Ensure timely decision making in between meetings where needed.

Skills and experience

We are looking for someone with experience of being a charity trustee who knows the charity sector.

Shannon Trust fulfils an unmet need around adult learning, supporting people who’ve fallen through the cracks in formal education.

We know a lot of people have had negative learning experiences in the past, so our programme is designed to be different, with no exams and no classrooms. Our unique, evidence-based Turning Pages reading manuals and Count Me In numeracy manuals are used by thousands of learners in prisons and the community to improve reading and numeracy skills. 

Prison volunteers live near to their local prison so that they can visit about once a month during the working week to nurture the growth of the Shannon Trust in their prison. They help unlock the power of reading by offering advice, guidance, training and support to prison staff and prisoner mentors who help other prisoners to improve their skills 1 to 1.

We are looking for volunteers who are able to give a regular, reliable commitment for ideally two years and able to deliver engaging training to groups of people in prisons. Volunteers do not need to be teachers or qualified traininers, full training will be given. Due to the nature of the role, prison security vetting will be required.

We provide training for the role via e-learning and 4 training sessions which are a mix of live, online and group training.

Walk N Talk 4 Mental Health is a Hampshire-based charity that brings people together to walk, talk, and support one another’s mental health.  Our mission to normalise conversations about mental health. What started as a local initiative has grown into a wider community movement, offering walks, workshops, creative events, and outreach activities across the region and beyond.

Trustee Role and Responsibilities

Our Trustees are the guardians of our mission. They support the strategic direction of the charity, ensure good governance, and help keep us grounded in our values.

As a Trustee, you will:

• Ensure the charity is carrying out its purpose for public benefit
• Support legal compliance with our governing documents and charity law
• Act in the charity’s best interests at all times
• Oversee financial and risk management
• Champion inclusion, transparency, and ethical practice
• Provide strategic insight, challenge, and encouragement to our team

Trustees are expected to attend quarterly Board meetings and contribute time and expertise to support the charity’s goals.

This is a voluntary role.

Skills and Qualities We’re Looking For

We are looking to grow a well-rounded, creative, and committed Board. You do not need to have previous Trustee experience to apply.

Commitment and Terms

We aim to keep things as flexible and accessible as possible.

We offer a six-month initial trial period to ensure the role is a good fit, and Trustees are invited to serve an initial term of three years, renewable.

Marketer

Role Description: We are seeking a passionate and creative Volunteer Marketer to help promote our initiatives, increase visibility, and engage our target audience. As a remote marketer, you will play a vital role in developing and executing marketing strategies that strengthen our presence online and offline. This role is ideal for someone who wants to gain hands-on marketing experience, showcase their skills, and contribute to meaningful projects while working flexibly from anywhere.

Key Responsibilities:

Content Creation & Promotion – Develop engaging content (social media posts, email campaigns, blogs, etc.) to raise awareness about our mission and activities. GACD (the Global Alliance for Chronic Diseases) is the only alliance of international research funders jointly funding, developing and facilitating global research collaborations to tackle the growing burden of chronic ‘non-communicable diseases’ (NCDs) including heart disease, diabetes, cancers and mental health conditions. The worldwide burden of NCDs is increasing, but doing so most rapidly in poorly resourced countries where they are a significant risk to health and wellbeing. GACD aims to provide essential evidence on the most effective ways to prevent or manage these chronic conditions and improve health equity.

As a member of the GACD Board of Trustees, you will provide strategic leadership and oversight for GACD as it seeks to fulfil its charitable objects. You will ensure GACD operates in accordance with its governing document and meets its legal and regulatory requirements.

At this time, we are particularly looking to attract a candidate with a strong understanding of the UK charity sector, including experience with charity governance and best practices in charity management.

“Solta o Jogo” is a vibrant cultural competition and festival celebrating Brazilian heritage through Capoeira, music, dance, acrobatics, and a Brazilian arts & crafts fair. Hosted at Kingston University Townhouse, the event invites the community to participate in free performances, workshops, and exhibitions promoting cross-cultural understanding.

As part of this initiative, we are seeking a Bid Writer to support Quilombo UK in securing vital funding and resources to further our mission. This remote volunteer role is ideal for someone who is passionate about community impact, writing, and making a meaningful difference in the Third Sector. You'll work with a supportive team, gain hands-on experience in funding applications, and help shape the sustainability of impactful community programmes.

Position Overview:
The Bid Writer Assistant plays a key role in researching, drafting, and editing compelling proposals and funding applications for various projects run by Quilombo UK. The role involves close collaboration with department leads, collecting relevant data, and ensuring submissions align with organisational goals and funder expectations. It offers the flexibility to work independently, with the support of experienced professionals and tailored training where required.

Key Responsibilities:

Proposal & Bid Development:

• Research, draft, and edit funding proposals tailored to specific grants, donors, and partners.

• Collaborate with internal teams to gather relevant content, project insights, and financial information for bids.

• Develop supporting documents and presentations to accompany applications.

Strategic Input & Collaboration:

Time Commitment:

The regular commitments include Board meetings, which are held four times a year in London in person, with an annual strategy away day every year. Additional meetings with the Chief Executive and senior team will be required as needed, along with representing us at external events and meetings.

The overall time investment amounts to the equivalent of two to three days per month. Preparation time for meetings and decision-making is essential, with occasional visits to our services across England and representation at external events as appropriate.

We are looking to recruit a Support Volunteer for the Medway and Swale Group. As our local group Support Volunteer you’ll help people affected by MS find information about local and national services. The organisation empowers young women to become economically independent do they can make informed decisions about their lives.

We offer menstrual health trainings in both schools and in community, we work with parents and local leaders to ensure that there is community awareness in regards to issues affect the girl child and women, we have started/opened up clubs in schools where students can get accurate information about their lives and these clubs also encourage students to stay in school. We encourage young girls to take up leadership positions right from lower class level, they can be prefects at school, local leaders for young women in their communities.
