Exeter Humanists is led by a team of volunteers that organises events and activities throughout the year.
As Events Manager, you will lead and develop the Exeter Humanists team.
Your main responsibilities will be to:
● Work with the Coordinator to develop an annual programme of online and in-person events.
● Lead the delivery of all events, including speaker acquisition, venue relations, volunteer briefing, and promotion.
You may also be asked to:
● Collaborate with other groups on joint events.
● Ensure that a fundraising element is in place at events.
● Support other volunteers to organise individual events.

On Tuesday 18th June, the London Legal Support Trust (LLST) will host the London Legal Walk for a very special 20th time, bringing the legal community together to commemorate this anniversary and raise funds for free legal advice agencies across London and the South East.
Last year, over 16,000+ legal professionals from over 900 organisations took on the challenge. To make this event a success, we are on the look-out for 1 day event marshals to join one of the largest single day fundraising events in the country and add value to the thousands of event attendees.

Tasks:
- You will be positioned at a “cheer point” along the 10km route where it will be your role to cheer and motivate walkers and offer support and encouragement as they go past. Your presence alone is enough to motivate thousands across the line, and ultimately raise as many funds as possible through a positive event experience. Blesma, The Limbless Veterans is the national charity and membership association for limbless serving and ex-service men and women and their dependants.
We help all wounded servicemen and women who have lost limbs, the use of limbs or eyes, to rebuild their lives by providing rehabilitation activities and welfare support.
We are looking for Volunteers to help the Fundraising Team at in person fundraising and awareness raising events throughout the UK. We’re a small and friendly team, operating at a regional and national level. We organise Blesma events and collections, attend third party events and support fundraisers doing their own events.

Action Village India
Action Village India (AVI) is a small, UK-based charity that fundraises for Indian NGO partners to deliver programmes that will best assist the poorest and most marginalised sections of communities in rural India. AVI supports campaigns for social justice and equality on Gandhian principles of nonviolence.
You will be working hand-in-hand with a small and very agile team in the London office and as such the internship will be a fantastic opportunity to ground yourself in the basics of charity day-to-day administration, communication and event fundraising.

This internship will focus on developing an exhibition for WOMAD festival that highlights the work on Action Village India, and support the team during the weekend of WOMAD festival.
The biggest fundraising event we hold every year is Madras Café, held at Womad Festival at the end of July. Madras Café began its life as a Chai and leaflet stall over 30 years ago to help educate people about Action Village India and the difficulties people in rural India faced; today it is an established festival institution serving delicious Indian food to over 4000 people over three days. The Action Village India team holds a stall in the Madras Café tent selling ethical products made in India, showcasing our exhibition, and informing people about Action Village India. In the run up to the festival you will work on the development of the exhibition. During the festival you will be working with the Events Intern and staff to ensure a successful running of the stall and the exhibition. You will need to be available in the set up and weekend of the festival – 24-29th July 2024.

About Pain Concern
Pain Concern is a charity providing information and support to people with pain and those who care for them, whether family, friends or healthcare professionals. Visit our website to find out more about what we do, including our Airing Pain radio programme, Pain Matters magazine, information helpline, community pain education sessions and our research and campaigning work. All pain is unpleasant, but for the 7.8 million people in the UK living with long-term pain it is a part of everyday life. It diminishes quality of life more than any other condition, leading often to loss of work, depression and disability. Anyone at any age can develop persistent pain and you will very probably know somebody affected. Although there is usually no cure, people who receive the appropriate treatment, information and support can manage their condition effectively with life-changing results.
Purpose of Volunteer Role
Pain Concern could not exist without our volunteers. We are looking for someone with an interest in chronic pain to help raise funds for Pain Concern by coordinating fundraising events.
What would you be doing:
• Maintain communications those fundraising in aid of Pain Concern and provide support
• With support from the Fundraising Team, Fundraising Steering Group and your fellow volunteers, help to plan and deliver events and activities to raise funds and awareness
• Send out fundraising packs
• Liaise with Media Team for publicising fundraisers and events
• Maintain a list of fundraising opportunities such as walks and marathons
• Help develop and maintain the fundraising section of Pain Concern’s website
• Research opportunities to promote community fundraising
• Develop links with local businesses
• Research and organise local fundraising events
• Recruit community fundraisers to support events in their area
• Attend events organised by our fundraisers as the ‘face’ of Pain Concern
• Maintain a database of contact and other ad hoc admin support for the team as required

Availability and location Minimum commitment of 6 months. Minimum 2-3 hours per week. Hybrid volunteering from our office at Newcraighall Road, Edinburgh EH15 3HS or from your own location.
