Event volunteer volunteer roles

As an Events and Communications Coordinator volunteer, you will play an essential role in supporting the charity’s event planning and communication efforts.  While this role is unpaid, it offers a valuable opportunity to gain experience and contribute to the charity’s mission.

Responsibilities:

Event Assistance:

• Collaborate with the events team to assist in planning and executing events.
• Help with brainstorming event ideas or proactively coming up with event ideas that would be beneficial for the charity.
• Provide support with tasks such as coordinating logistics, contacting vendors and attendees and helping with on-site event management.

Communication Support:

• Assist with the development and implementation of communication strategies to the target audience and materials.
• Help to increase the reach and impact of communication pieces by distributing and sharing newsletters, leaflets, posts etc. to relevant communities and outlets.

Content Creation:

• Assist in writing and editing promotional materials, such as event invitations and social media posts.
• Help with graphic design tasks, such as creating event posters and online graphics.
• Document the event, as directed, through photos and videos that can be used by the marketing team for marketing purposes.
• Photo and video editing skills are not essential but highly valued.

Audience Engagement:

• Help to drive reach and impact of social media activity through engaging with posts and sharing to local communities.
• Help to drive event attendance, registrations and, ultimately, optimise results for every event undertaken.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with the organisation's teams to ensure consistent messaging and branding.

Event Support:

• Volunteer at events to assist with various tasks, such as registration, guest services, and ensuring smooth event execution.

Post-Event Feedback:

• Assist in collecting feedback and data to evaluate the success of events and communication efforts.

Personal specification:

This is a role for someone who can play an active and on-site role for Manchester-based events.

• Enthusiasm and dedication to supporting the organisation's mission and representing the charity in the best possible way.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic skills in using communication and graphic design tools.

Time commitment and expenses:

• 3-7 hours per week, either in or out of office hours.
• We request a minimum commitment of 3 months volunteering.

A bit about this role

As a charity we can continue to help cats and kittens in need thanks to the donations we receive at fundraising events from generous members of the public. Our fundraising event helpers have the exciting and varied role of helping at local fundraising events - such as cakes sales, barn dances, quiz nights – and everything in between!

Time expectation

This role is really flexible! You could choose to volunteer at one event for a couple of hours or attend multiple fundraising events. The events will be based around the South Wirral and Chester area.

We’ll keep you up to date with upcoming local events where volunteers are needed. You’ll then be able to choose which events you’d like to volunteer at and how many hours you’d like to give. However much time you can give, your contribution will help raise much needed funds to continue the work of Cats Protection.

International Aid for the Protection & Welfare of Animals (IAPWA) is a UK-registered animal welfare charity dedicated to creating a better future for animals in need.

IAPWA are currently seeking an Event Co-ordinator to join their UK team to support their ‘Dip for Dogs’ fundraising initiative.

From identifying locations to host a charity ice bath event, to recruiting and supporting volunteers to assist on the day, you will be part of a charity who are passionate about making a difference to the lives of animals in need.

Help raise awareness and funds for Teckels in your local area. Our Community Volunteers champion our work, represent Teckels at events, and inspire others to get involved.

What you’ll be doing:

• Hosting stalls at local fairs and events
• Supporting supermarket collections or Pets at Home fundraising days
• Collecting donations and bringing them to the Centre
• Putting up posters, handing out leaflets, or sharing social posts
• Hosting fundraising events like bake sales or pub quizzes
• Supporting our fundraising events like the Spring, Summer and Winter Fairs and the Winter Ball

We are seeking enthusiastic and committed volunteers to support our programmes in a variety of roles, including Subject Ambassadors, Front of House/Chaperones, and Stage/Production Crew.  These roles provide a fantastic opportunity to engage with students, parents, and MTA staff while contributing to a vibrant and inclusive learning and performance environment. 

Roles & Responsibilities: 

1. Subject Ambassador: 

· Actively participate in sessions to encourage student engagement 

· Champion an inclusive and fun learning experience for all

· Act as a classroom assistant to support our facilitators

· Provide pastoral care and learning support

· Lead by example with a positive and enthusiastic approach

· Depending on individual goals, work with MTA staff to develop a personal progression plan to gain relevant experience in key areas including (but not limited to): working with children, leadership, assistant directing, musical direction and more

· Actively represent and promote MTA at volunteer events and networking opportunities, engaging with attendees to share our mission and initiatives

2. Front of House / Chaperone 

· Help assist with events management in many areas which can align to your personal goals

· Potentially take on specific event tasks (i.e. events logistics including set up/pack down, running a stall at fundraising events etc.)

· Serve as a point of contact for students and parents ensuring a welcoming and friendly atmosphere.  

· Provide backstage support and supervision to children and young people – ensuring the children have a great experience

· Provide entertainment for groups (i.e. playing games, encouraging arts & crafts etc.)

· Help assist with moving children and young people to and from the stage and/or performance location

3. Stage / Production Crew 

· In line with your personal experience and/or personal development goals, help assist with the technical and/or logistical needs of performances  

· Support performance’s technical aspects; including set-up of equipment (lighting and/or sound), operation and pack down/get out

· Support performances with set design, build and/or production crew roles (stage management and stagehands)

Main purpose of job: To host our Parent/Carer online community support group as part of Mast Cell Actions community support services.

Key tasks include:

· Host support sessions with professionalism and enthusiasm.

· Moderate Q&A sessions, and facilitate audience interaction to keep participants engaged.

· Manage technical aspects of virtual events, to ensure smooth execution.

· Take the register and send post event emails using our bespoke event platform

· Raise safeguarding concerns using internal processes and procedures. Training will be provided

· Maintain confidentiality and follow charity policies and procedures

· Undertake relevant training

Key Objectives Include:

· The main purpose of this role is to facilitate and host our Parent/Carer Support Sessions alongside another volunteer

· Host support sessions in a manner that captivates and engages the audience, keeping them interested and actively participating throughout the event.

· Reassure and validate participants' experiences whilst encouraging story-sharing.

· Manage the technical aspects of virtual events proficiently.

· Represent Mast Cell Action professionally at all times, demonstrating strong communication skills, reliability, and adaptability in a virtual environment.

Experience/skills required:

· Proven experience as a virtual event host, moderator, or similar role is desirable but not essential as we can train you.

· Must have personal experience of being a parent or carer for a child with MCAS or suspected MCAS

We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to support Night to Remember - a night-time walking event in Worthing raising money for local hospice care.

Roles available include Set-Up Crew (helping with signage and decorations), Car Parking (creating a smooth arrival experience), Gantry Set-Up (our giant inflatable blow up), and Registration Desk (welcoming and signing in participants). We also need Route Marshals to guide and cheer on walkers throughout the night, as well as Break Down Crew for post-event clear-up shifts both overnight and the following afternoon. If you've got a few hours to spare on 21st or 22nd June your support will make a huge difference. Come be part of something special!

At Acorns we provide care and support for life limited or life threatened children and their families. We are a charity, so most of the care that we provide is funded through fundraising and through our shops.

We are looking for volunteers to join our Christmas Fayre in Wylde Green Church to help with the sales of craft items and running of the tombola.

Event date Saturday 29th November.

Volunteer opportunities on the day;

Volunteers will be covering the hours of 10.00-16.00 (any hours between these times is fine and times are role dependent)

As a Fundraising Volunteer you’ll assist with fundraising events and collections throughout the year, as and when you can.

You’ll engage with members of the public and use your knowledge of your local area to promote the work of Ty Hafan.

By becoming a fundraising volunteer, you'll help us raise essential funds for children with life-shortening conditions and their families. 

Considerations:

Age requirement: 16 (If under 18 you will be required to provide parental permission)

Location: Throughout South/West Wales

Commitment: Flexible

Background checks: We will ask you to provide us with the details of two referees. A DBS check may be required for roles with more responsibility.

Activities include:

• Take part in our bucket collections throughout the year in town/city centres, supermarkets, shopping centres and other venues. • Use your knowledge of your local area to place collection tins in your community, visiting the premises on a regular basis and count and bank the money on our behalf

• You will promote Ty Hafan fundraising events and campaigns in your community (for example Tea for Ty Hafan) and encourage others to register to hold their own tea party

•You will encourage local community groups and organisations to support and fundraise for Ty Hafan, using your existing networks and knowledge of your community

• You will work closely with the Regional Fundraiser to maximise all opportunities within your area
