At The Compassionate Friends (TCF) we are passionate about providing peer support to grieving parents and their families whose son or daughter has died at any age (from one month old to an adult) and from any cause. We offer this support through our network of over 300 dedicated volunteers who are themselves bereaved parents or siblings. We are now seeking an Events & Community Fundraiser to join our small, but dedicated and hardworking, staff team to help us to develop our funding to continue our vital work. In this exciting and diverse role, you will be leading on the recruitment and stewardship of individual fundraisers and fundraising groups undertaking challenge events, digital fundraising and other community fundraising initiatives. 

Just some of the activities you will be working on include:

o   Taking ownership of community and events fundraising at The Compassionate Friends, including preparing an annual plan, and incorporating digital fundraising alongside traditional methods.

o   Managing existing and introducing new challenge and fundraising events to grow the events programme, This will include attending some key fundraising events.

o   Managing a programme of community fundraising, including relationships with various community groups.

o Building and maintaining effective relationships, delivering excellent support care and stewardship to donors, fundraisers, community groups, and partner organisations. Researching and designing new fundraising events, initiatives and products .

o Writing inspiring content for supporter communications, social media and website content

This role is for you if you have experience or transferable skills around planning, organising and delivering fundraising campaigns and activities, proven experience or skills in delivering income growth in an events and/or community fundraising setting and knowledge of online fundraising tools, digital marketing and social media.. If you are a proactive self-starter who is able to work on their own initiative and as part of a small team, highly numerate and well organised, an excellent communicator with persuasive, engaging and creative writing skills, and a passion and  motivation to raise money to support bereaved parents and their families, then we would be delighted to receive your application.

Role Overview:

The post-holder will be working closely with other members of the Fundraising Department to gain exposure for the charity and the fundraising campaigns run throughout the year.

The Events and Volunteer team is essential to the growth of Muslim Hands both in raising awareness via our events which host thousands of people throughout the year, increasing awareness of our work and generating donations. The post-holder’s role will be central in expanding this and helping further the reach of Muslim Hands.

Main Responsibilities:

• To be the first point of contact for enquires in volunteering and events for post-holder’s local area.

• To support, manage and supervise the recruitment of volunteers.

• To equip head volunteers with the knowledge, motivation and understanding to carry out their role within the community on behalf of Muslim Hands.

• To work closely with key volunteers and groups to maximise Muslim Hands’ presence and work in the local community.

• To support our flagship events in post-holder’s local area including Gaza Winter Walk, Ramadan activities and a range of outdoor and international events.

• To organise and be responsible for local events in post-holder’s area in order to maximise Muslim Hands presence and raise funds for various projects.

• To arrange and attend masjid collections and make announcements to the congregation in the masjid.

• To build relationships with key groups and businesses in post-holder’s local area such as schools, scout groups and supermarkets.

• Ensure that all practices of the work carried out is clearly planned, monitored and evaluated in.

• Ensure all activity is conducted within up-to-date policies including health and safety and data management.

• To work closely with the Events and Volunteer Assistant Manager and the broader Fundraising team.

Job summary
The Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (RSTMH) is a Society of over 1,700 members from 100 countries, who work in, or are interested in tropical medicine and global health.

RSTMH organises and participates in events as a crucial way of showcasing, discussing, and debating key areas of tropical medicine and global health research and practice. Our range of events are wide. We deliver conferences and webinars, social events, research meetings for early career professionals, and high-profile debates and discussions. They happen across the UK and around the world, both online and in person. The Meetings and Events Manager would lead on the delivery of the RSTMH meeting and events strategy. The role requires a self-starter who is excited by the prospect of working on such a broad range of meetings and events. The candidate needs to have excellent communication and relationship building skills, and to be organised, flexible with a great attention to detail. They should be comfortable liaising with venues for meetings space, developing budgets for events, managing logistical aspects of the events programme and setting up new events online and in person.

Programme Manager role

We are now looking for an enthusiastic and committed Programme Manager(s) to join our existing Programme Team in September 2024 on a full or part-time basis (6-month fixed-term with potential to extend).  As a Programme Manager, you will be responsible for managing the Yes Futures programmes in-person, in our partner primary and secondary schools in North London, Essex, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire & Buckinghamshire.

Main Responsibilities

You will be one of a small team of Programme Managers, dedicated to delivering excellent programmes which make a positive difference to the lives of students.  The main responsibilities of the Programme Manager role are:

Programme delivery

• Responsible for the care and wellbeing of all students in your schools on the programme;
• Communicating with parents where necessary during the programme, by email, letter and telephone;
• Planning and delivering whole-group workshops for students;
• Planning and delivering information and celebration events for students and parents;
• Facilitating the in-person and online volunteer coaching team to deliver student coaching sessions. As well as delivering coaching sessions to students, where required;
• Developing business and charity partnerships for day trips;
• Planning and delivering the day trips included in the programme;
• Supporting the planning and delivery of the Into the Wild residentials;
• Implementing discipline procedures, including reporting serious discipline issues;
• Implementing all necessary Health and Safety and Child Protection procedures, including recording and reporting any incidents;
• Ongoing communication with the school and Yes Futures head office regarding student engagement and progress.

Organisation and administration

• School onboarding, including ensuring that dates are planned, students are recruited and parental agreements are returned;
• Planning and organising the logistical elements of the programme (timetables, activities, sessions plans etc) through liaising with Yes Futures head office, school staff, businesses, charitable organisations and the rest of the Coaching team;
• Creation of Risk Assessments, parent letters and programme-related documents for schools;
• Sourcing materials needed for programme sessions, including lunches for trips;
• Assisting with finance and petty cash where required.

Management of volunteer Yes Futures Coaches

• Managing and developing the skills of your Coaching teams (usually 2-6 adults per school);
• Ongoing communication with your Coaching teams, to foster their enthusiasm and commitment;
• Supporting Coach recruitment for future programmes;
• Supporting the planning and delivery of training for Coaches;
• Maintaining accurate and secure records of Coaches’ personal information, absences, sickness and other relevant information.

Evaluation and reporting

• Facilitating the pre-, mid- and end of programme evaluations;
• Oversight and input of key student monitoring data and impact data;
• Debriefing and ongoing feedback collection from schools and Coaches;
• Ensure all work is carried out in an effective and timely manner to support continued high standards of the Yes Futures programmes.

Programme Managers will also be given the opportunity to support with other Head Office functions, including but not limited to:

• Strengthening our strategy, programme design and theory of change;
• Supporting the marketing of Yes Futures to new schools and customers;
• Developing our fundraising strategy through bid writing and other fundraising tasks;
• Establishing relationships with key partner organisations;
• Planning our future Ambassador offer and other pilot programmes.

We seek a full-time Senior Marketing and Communications Manager to join our small, busy and creative team at NWN. This is a great opportunity for someone with at least three years’ experience in a similar role, who has an interest in contemporary literature and is looking to develop their career in the creative industries. It’s an exciting time to join the organisation as we develop new audiences and work towards creating a Centre for Writing and Publishing in Newcastle upon Tyne.

This role is central to NWN providing marketing support across all of New Writing North’s varied programme, including international literary prizes, young writers’ groups, and festivals and events. You will also shape the marketing and communications and audience development strategic plans and, will work closely with colleagues from different programme teams developing relationships with audiences and stakeholders online. The ideal candidate will have expertise in marketing and communications, and especially digital marketing and its potential for developing audiences. You will be a creative self-starter with a willingness to engage with audiences and to devise, test and evaluate new marketing initiatives.

We are working with a membership body who are recruiting for an Educational Events Manager to join the team. You will manage a team of 4 who manage the annual cycle of educational events, you will also be responsible for the annual conference.

The Events Manager main responsibilities will be

• Work with the Head of Education and Events developing annual business plans, budgets, KPI's and pricing policies.

• Work with the Head of to develop the and improve the events programme.
• Share your expertise in event design and delivery.
• Take responsible for delivering events to manage KPI's in the annual budgets and plans.
• Work with the Partnerships and Sponsorship Manager to create sponsorship opportunities.
• Oversee and manage the Educational Events team, taking responsibility for recruitment, training, appraisal and development.
• Line manage the team and setting objectives.

To be successful in the role you will

• Have at least 5 years of organising in person and hybrid events.

• Experienced in managing a team.
• Experienced in developing marketing plans.
• Experienced of working with non profits - ideally membership bodies.

QAC is a charity that runs a college, supported living (known as Independence Plus) and community services for young adults with learning difficulties and disabilities.

The College has been at its current location since 1903. Our original purpose was to provide education for young people who were blind or visually impaired. About the Senior Uniformed Events Officer role:

We are currently seeking an experienced events professional to join our busy Operations team to coordinate, deliver and promote MSSC uniformed events. Based at our London NSC, the Senior Uniformed Events Officer will be responsible for delivering a series of existing events and for identifying opportunities to expand the event calendar by developing effective strategies and plans designed to maximise the charities profile. The role demands an organised and flexible approach to work including evening and weekends.

Responsibilities as our Senior Uniformed Events Officer will include:

• Ensuring that eventse.g. Armed Forces Day, Trafalgar Day Parade, Belgium Cenotaph Parade, RN Carol Service (and the uniformed elements of other events) are properly organised to produce optimum benefit in raising the profile and maximising the reputation of the charity
• Working alongside other team memberse.g. Events and Competitions Manager in the delivery of nonand uniformed events and support competitions where appropriate
• Effectively liaising with all levels of staff within MSSC departments, areas and both uniformed and non-uniformed personnel within MSSC, to ensure the smooth and safe running of national eventsand your support of national competitions
• Managing MODNET laptops for MSSC employees and limited RN personnel
• Developing uniformed eventsand competition support that, enables, and conforms to the charity’s latest objectives and strategy
• Ensuring that all allocated uniformed events and national competition support undertaken conform to the charities Policies, Procedures and other associated documentation. Including the management of the competitive experience via documented and rules
• Ensuring that both the CSC and DDOps are regularly informed of progress and opportunities thereinand attend regular meetingsand updates as required

Requirements needed to become our Senior Uniformed Events Officer:

• Two years’ experience of managing uniformed events
• Experience of developing and implementing a variety of uniformed events from small intimate receptions to large public facing engagements with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
• Experience/knowledge working in a uniformed youth environment
• Experience of working with volunteers
• Experience of managing complex uniformed events budgets
• Uniformed role with a MOD Sponsored Cadet Force

We are looking for someone with event management expertise who has excellent communication and relationship building skills to join the team responsible for delivering our programme of events.  You’ll have good negotiation and presentation skills, a focus on detail and the ability to manage a variety of tasks often to tight deadlines. 

About the role

The Information Events Coordinator will deliver our information events programme consisting of face-to-face and online events hosted by the team and held throughout the UK, developing the strategy for the programme and implementing event activity with the aim to increase participation and attendance.

You’ll be responsible for the planning, co-ordination and delivery of the events, including marketing and promotion, as well as logistics and resourcing.  You’ll be required to attend several weekend events throughout the year so should be able to travel across the UK as needed.
