As our local group Activities Organiser you’ll play a crucial role in developing and planning activities and events with your local group. You’ll be responsible for creating and coordinating an annual calendar of events and making sure they’re run safely and effectively to make the most impact. You’ll take a lead role at events on the day and inspire your fellow volunteers to get involved.
In this role you’ll be able to develop your organisation, communication, administration and negotiation skills.

About the role
Do you enjoy chatting with people, making them feel welcome, and offering a supportive ear? We’re looking for friendly volunteers to give around 2 hours a week to help us run our carers’ groups and activities in Bristol.
As a Carer Support Volunteer, you’ll:
· Co-facilitate monthly drop-in sessions and activity groups
· Welcome carers and help create a safe, supportive space
· Assist with events (e.g., setting up, registering attendees, making refreshments)
· Share information about upcoming groups and activities
Full training and regular supervision will be provided, so you’ll feel confident and supported in your role.
About the service
The Bristol Carers Service supports adult family members, partners, and friends of adults living with mental health conditions. We provide one-to-one and group support through phone calls, online sessions, and in-person activities. These include monthly support groups, education sessions, social events, and walks.
The service is delivered by a Service Coordinator and a Hospital Liaison Worker, as part of the wider Rethink Bristol Community team.

About this opportunity
We are looking to recruit an Activities Organiser for the South East Kent Group. As an Activities Organiser, you will be to bringing together our MS community through engaging and accessible activities. We need you to get involved and help make positive changes to the lives of people affected by MS.
We are a very friendly group of 7 volunteers covering a large are of the South East area of Kent from Dover to Hythe and Ashford. We currently hold a monthly support group meet-up in Ashford 10am - Noon 2nd Thursday in Month, but we would like to expand these in the future in other areas. We have a support team who do visits and information signposting at the William Harvey Hospital.
We are very keen to expand our activities and would welcome new volunteers with ideas and support in helping us offer more for people affected by MS in our area.
The hours will be suited to compliment your own personal commitments. If possible 2 to 4 hrs a week would be great if we can develop our services. We have the monthly support meet up which is currently 2 hrs a month but we would like to offer this more often if possible in 2019 to every other week or a new meeting in a different area. We have group volunteer meetings every 4 months and there are volunteer events held twice a year for all volunteers by MS National Centre so all volunteers in the Kent area can meet up and share their activities and good ideas together.

This year, Shelter Norfolk have been chosen as the Charity Partner of Wild Paths Festival.
Wild Paths are asking for donations on ticket sales and at the bars. In return, Shelter are recruiting 20 volunteers to help at the festival across 13-19 October. Various shifts will be available.
Successful Shelter volunteers will be supported to join the Wild Paths Festival Team. They will have an induction to their role with the Wild Paths Team.

Our customers at Tentercroft Court would like to learn how to crochet and are looking for someone to teach them the basics.
You'll be helping them to learn how to crochet and maybe assist them to make a blanket or two! They're complete beginners, so even just learning some terminology and simple stitches would be super.
The residents are really flexible as to when they'd like to run the club, so this could be on a day and at a time to suit you. We see this being up to 2 hours a week maximum.
You must be over the age of 18 if you're doing this role on your own. However, we're happy to consider someone over 14 if they volunteer with a parent or guardian, who's over the age of 18.

About the role
We are looking for an experienced audio visual and lighting designer to develop and deliver an integrated technical experience across the audio-visual production elements of the conference.
This is a strategic and delivery-focused role, requiring technical understanding and a user-first mindset to ensure all delegates, in-person and online, enjoy a seamless, inclusive, and inspiring experience at the 44th World Scout Conference in 2027, which will take place at Olympia from Monday 29th November to Friday 3rd December (with 2 days set-up and 1 day de-rig either side).
With around 1600 delegates expected from across the globe, this high-profile international gathering demands a seamless, accessible, and engaging hybrid experience that embodies the values of World Scouting while using the best of modern event technology.
This is a key role in our team, combining technical production design with strategic thinking around user experience and accessibility, across both physical and digital platforms.
Please note, while this is a volunteer role, there will be some associated personal cost during the conference period for example, for transport and accommodation.
Key tasks
- Design all audio-visual elements of the conference: main plenary sessions, breakouts, social spaces, and interactive zones.
- Oversee stage projection, relay displays, camera systems, and live streaming.
- Coordinate with AV providers, venue teams, and show producers to ensure high-quality delivery of presentations, panels, ceremonies, and remote contributions.
- Contribute to the smooth integration of interpretation and captioning technologies.
- Collaborate with our Sound Designer, AV suppliers and venue technical teams to design and deliver sound, lighting, projection, display, and staging systems suitable for Olympia National Hall’s scale and acoustics.
- Oversee the technical setup for high-quality streaming and recording of plenary sessions and key breakouts.
- Design and coordinate appropriate lighting for the main stage and special areas, ensuring both functional visibility and visual impact for key moments (e.g., ceremonies, keynote addresses).
- Work with suppliers to negotiate packages that offer excellent value for money, while maintaining quality and variety.
- Identify opportunities to streamline services or combine resources with other operational areas to stay within financial parameters.
- Work with content producers, technical leads, stage managers, interpretation and translation coordinators and the wider technical support team to ensure smooth show delivery.
