We are looking for a skilled trust fundraising leader to take on the key role of Senior Trusts and Grants Manager, supporting our mission to help people rebuild their lives and end homelessness for good.
As Senior Trusts and Grants Manager, you’ll lead a thriving team of four, manage strategic funding relationships, and ensure ambitious income targets are achieved. You’ll also maintain your own portfolio of high-value funders, representing St Mungo’s with confidence and credibility.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Manage and grow a portfolio of high-value trusts and foundations to secure essential funding for our work.
- Lead, support, and inspire the Trusts and Grants team, maintaining a collaborative and positive team culture,where everyone can achieve their income and relationship management targets.
- Oversee the overall trusts programme, including pipeline development, proposal quality, income tracking, due diligence, and relationships.
- Act as the organisational lead on trust fundraising, enabling senior colleagues to build strong relationships with key funders.
In this role you will be required to work flexibly for at least 2 days per week from our Central Office in Tower Hill, London. This allows for training, in person collaboration, team building, line management and other relationship building opportunities. We support a flexible approach to work with opportunities for agile working for the rest of your week; from home, or other St Mungo’s London or regional locations.
About you
This role is ideal for someone with strong trust fundraising and people management experience, who can maintain momentum, and support the team to thrive during this fixed term period.
You will be a proactive trust fundraiser with proven experience of personally securing significant grants and managing long term funder relationships.
You’ll also bring proven success in leading and supporting a team, with a collaborative, encouraging style that helps people do their best work.

Job Purpose
Our Business Development Manager is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives on creating and improving relationships, expanding a product portfolio, and working across an organisation to drive impact. Main Responsibilties
Business Development Strategy
- Alongside the COO, develop and execute a business development strategy for BSR that secures financially sustainable funding streams that support our drive to improve patient care
- Lead on market research, product development and product lifecycle management
- Support the Senior Management Team and Heads of Department to expand and improve our product portfolios to keep partners engaged in supporting our diverse membership
Relationship building and management
- Lead relationship management with sponsors, partners and collaborators to provide exceptional and consistent account management
- Liaise with and support internal teams with delivery to sponsors, partners and collaborators
- Enable internal sharing of insight and intelligence about trends and movements with industry partners
- Foster new strategic partnerships and relationships with UK and international organisations

- Oversee BSR income streams, working closely with the finance team to ensure efficient financial process and cash flow
- Manage the sales pipeline, ensuring financial trackers are up to date
- Analyse data to ensure the business development strategy is effective, ambitious and realistic

The Opportunity
This role at WFN provides an exciting opportunity to lead on the development of our growing Winner Network Development (WND) programme, identified as one of the charity’s key areas for strategic growth and maximised impact over the coming years. The Senior Fundraiser for Trusts and Foundations will be our lead fundraiser, drawing in support and expertise from across the team. They will take ownership of identifying funding sources, refining a strategy, forecasting our fundraising income, and building strong relationships with donors, bringing the experiences of our group members to life in fundraising communications. They will line management a full-time fundraiser who specialises in individual giving while the Senior Fundraiser for Trusts and Foundations will lead on grant writing.
In the last 5 years, CARAS has had huge success, more than trebling our income and enabling us to expand our staff team and therefore our reach. We are a highly impactful organisation that is often looked to for our insight in the sector. We have an ambitious three-year strategy, co-produced with group members, staff, volunteers, trustees and partner organisations, that will launch in September 2025 and guide our current work.

The role:
The Senior Fundraiser for Trusts and Foundations is required to lead a wide range of activities. You will be expected to manage your own time, prioritising tasks and leading a small team of people who contribute to CARAS’ fundraising. RESPONSIBILITIES
Fundraising

Line-manage our Fundraising Officer and work together to generate income to meet CARAS’s budgetary targets through trusts and foundations, individual giving, community fundraising and other means at our disposal.

Develop and deliver a fundraising strategy which synchronises with the CARAS Strategic Plan.

Research and maintain a real-time pipeline of fundraising opportunities and oversee delivery. Lead or allocate all income generation opportunities in good time so that appropriate co-design and decision-making processes are behind applications.

Maintain up-to-date records on potential and active funders in CARAS’s database.

Ensure compliance with best practice in fundraising including use of data and confidentiality.
