Join Us as a Finance Manager

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Finance Manager to join our team and play a crucial role in ensuring the financial integrity and sustainability of ESC. This part-time position (10 hours per week) is essential to maintaining strong financial records, reviewing budgets, and supporting compliance across the club’s operations. As a charity, our financial health is vital to delivering exceptional training, competitions, and community-based initiatives. Your expertise will help us grow and continue to provide high-quality opportunities for swimmers across all levels. Working closely with the Senior Management Team and Trustee Board, you will help with financial operations and contribute to the long-term success of the club.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Management: Maintain the integrity of financial records for the charity and its members.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Prepare annual budgets and financial forecasts as required.
• Account Management: Prepare quarterly management accounts and year-end accounts, including pre-payments, accruals, and journal entries.
• Financial Reconciliation: Reconcile all balance sheet accounts on the management accounts.
• Audit Preparation: Liaise with external auditors to prepare year-end statutory accounts.
• Treasury Management: Manage surplus funds efficiently.
• Payroll & HMRC Compliance: Prepare and manage monthly payroll and pension payments, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations.
• Policy Review: Conduct an annual review of ESC’s finance policies and procedures.
• Governance & Reporting: Attend trustee meetings and monthly operations board meetings as required.
• Sage Management: Ensure integrity of Sage accounting software.
• Charity Compliance: Submit annual returns to the Charity Commission and Companies House.
• Project Support: Lead ad hoc financial projects as needed.
• Event Support: Volunteer at ESC events, supporting fundraising and engagement activities.

What We’re Looking For:

• 5 years of experience in management accounting.
• ACA/ACCA qualification (or equivalent) preferable.
• Experience in charity finance preferred.
• Proficiency in Sage, Word, Excel, and Microsoft Office.
• Strong numeracy and accuracy skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities effectively.
• Flexible and adaptable approach to tasks.

This is a permanent, part-time role working 1250 hours annually. About CoppaFeel!

CoppaFeel! are the UK’s only youth focused breast cancer awareness charity, and we’re on a mission to get every 18-24 year old checking their chest. We educate people on the signs of breast cancer and encourage them to check their chests monthly, so that if they notice something unusual they are empowered to contact their GP and advocate for themselves.

We do this because when diagnosed early, breast cancer treatments are more effective and survival rates are higher. Early detection can save lives.

Breast cancer does not need to be detected late, and as long as we are here and continue to be supported by people like you, we will do all we can to make sure this doesn’t continue to happen.

The Role

Following a recent departmental restructure, we’re entering an exciting period for the newly formed content team. This shift in the team structure highlights our commitment to making best in sector content - all in the name of our mission; to ensure all breast cancers are diagnosed early and accurately in young people.

We are looking for an exceptional Head of Content who will be responsible for delivering our holistic content strategy over the next year. You’ll oversee the management, production and strategic placement of all organic content across CoppaFeel!’s channels, and in house paid campaign activations. You will help shape CoppaFeel!’s approach to content so that it appeals, resonates with and converts our key audience of 18 - 24 year olds, as well as our supplementary audiences, across website, email and social channels.

You will work closely with the Head of Marketing and alongside other Heads of Dept, bringing your expertise and knowledge to leadership discussions to help shape the future of the organisation. You will report to the Marketing Director and line manage the Social Media Manager and Digital Marketing Manager, and you will have exposure to the Senior Management Team.

This is a fixed term contract for 13 months.

This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that you will attend the London office 2 days per week. You will be required to attend the office for quarterly team meetings, department meetings and in person training, we will provide plenty of notice for when you are required to be in for these purposes.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Work as a valued part of the CoppaFeel! leadership team to deliver the organisational strategy, shape the culture and influence cross departmental ways of working.
• Deliver the holistic content strategy across digital and social channels (including website, email, search, owned social, content creators and gaming) that will enhance the annual marketing strategy and drive awareness of CoppaFeel! and our mission amongst 18 - 24 year olds.
• Responsible for overseeing a team creating and producing innovative content that’s insight driven and market leading.
• Oversee production plans delivering our year round ‘always on’ organic content (web, email, social).
• Lead and inspire creativity across the organisation with a view to becoming social first in everything we do.
• Work with the Digital Marketing Manager and Social Media Manager to develop and deliver a content optimisation test and learn programme.
• Work with the Digital Marketing Manager to optimise CoppaFeel!’s website and third party agencies to research, plan and execute Search Engine Optimisation and Paid Search strategies.
• Work with the Digital Marketing Manager to develop and deliver the annual Website and Email content plan, including an optimisation plan.
• Work with the Social Media Manager to produce social first content year round, in line with the social media and content strategy.
• Oversee in house paid social media campaigns, primarily on Meta, with support from the Social Media Manager. Deliver training to the Social Media Manager to help them work towards activating these independently.
• Oversee delivery of workflow processes for managing the content lifecycle, including producing, distributing, measuring, and retiring content.
• Ensure all content is consistent with brand guidelines and tone of voice.
• Oversee capacity of the Content Team.
• Line manage the Social Media Manager and Digital Marketing Manager.
• Ownership of the Content Team budget and quarterly re-forecasting.
• Contribute to quarterly all staff team meetings.
• Ensure rigorous reporting and analysis of social and digital activity to ensure delivery of planned KPIs, with an ambition to be constantly improving and evolving.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

Essential

• Minimum 5 year’s experience working in a management level content focused role, for example a Senior Digital Marketing Manager, Senior Content Manager, Head of Digital Marketing or Head of Content.
• Demonstrable experience in managing and prioritising cross departmental content requests.
• Demonstrable experience of implementing strategic content plans.
• Demonstrable experience of producing creative content.
• Demonstrable experience with activating paid social campaigns.
• A leader with the ability to develop and motivate a multidisciplinary team to achieve high standards.
• The ability to build relationships with and manage senior stakeholders’ expectations and cross-departmental content requests.
• Demonstrable experience of reaching and converting 18-24 year olds (our target audience) via engaging content with a focus on Instagram and Tik Tok.
• Experience of working for a youth focused brand/charity or account (if agency based).
• Experience of working with content creators.
• Excellent knowledge of the ever changing digital and social landscapes, and how tools/AI can help enhance our work.

• Experience of budget management and forecasting.
• You’ll be data driven and experienced in tracking and reporting on campaign success against KPIs and ROI.

Overall purpose of the role

The Senior Communications Manager is responsible for delivering exceptional communications to enhance Orbis UK's profile in both the UK and the Middle East. The position is responsible for implementing strategic plans for UK and Middle East audiences, while supporting the Media and PR Manager in boosting Orbis UK's brand presence. The role also includes leading reputation and crisis management responses and plans.

The Media and PR Manager reports directly to this position, and together, they will collaborate to deliver effective communications plans. There will also be opportunities to work with the wider Orbis UK communications team on cross-departmental campaigns, appeals, and events, including VIP visits and integrated marketing campaigns.

This role encompasses communications planning, media relations, stakeholder management, reputation management, copywriting, and at times, event coordination. It requires strong relationship-building skills and the ability to manage projects across different teams and countries. The role is responsible for three key areas of work:

i) Overseeing the delivery of the media and PR strategy to increase brand awareness of Orbis within the UK and the Middle East through pitching and placement of high-quality media coverage, proactive PR initiatives and reactive press office opportunities within a range of publications that align with our target audiences and partnerships. This will include managing the Media and PR Manager, working with key stakeholders such as the Royal Press Office and key funding and programme partners, and supporting delivery of Orbis UK integrated marketing campaigns

ii) Implementing grant communication plans by creating content for website, social media and press activities for key partnerships

As Senior Programmes Officer for Marketing and Communications, you’ll play a key role in driving engagement and recruitment across our entire programmes portfolio. You’ll bring fresh ideas, take ownership of campaigns, and help shape how the Trust tells its story to the people we support.

We’re looking for a creative, digitally savvy marketing and communications professional with a passion for educational equality. This role offers the chance to lead on campaigns that span digital, print, and events - creating standout content for diverse audiences focused on students but including teachers, universities, parents, and alumni.

This role sits within the Programmes Directorate, working closely with a small, collaborative team of six led by the Head of Digital & University Access. You’ll be line managed by the Senior Programmes Manager: University Access and collaborate extensively with the central Communications Team.

Main duties

Marketing & Engagement

• With a strong audience focus, develop appropriate marketing strategies to support the recruitment of students to Sutton Trust programmes with Programme Managers
• Develop creative content ideas and tactics to target key audiences including creating engaging copy and visual assets for marketing campaigns, including digital content (e.g. email campaigns, social media) and physical collateral (e.g. posters, brochures)
• Create engaging copy and visual assets for marketing campaigns and programme
• Support the capture of content at selected Sutton Trust events, including photography, video, and stakeholder feedback, to enhance marketing assets and engagement strategies
• Lead on the creation or commissioning of programme collateral and marketing assets
• Coordinate stakeholder focus groups (e.g. students, parents, teachers, alumni) to evaluate and refine our marketing and comms strategies

Digital, Web and Social Media

• Ensure all programme information is accurate and up to date across the Sutton Trust website and microsites.
• Lead the rebranding and redevelopment of programme microsites and marketing materials in line with brand guidelines and with support from the central communications team.
• Work closely with the Senior Digital Communications Officer and Head of Communications & Advocacy to ensure brand consistency and coordinated scheduling across digital and social channels.
• Manage, plan, and create impactful social media campaigns to support marketing and engagement, with an increasing focus on video content.
• Collaborate with Heads of Department and Programme Managers to produce blog content that supports outreach, partnerships, and engagement.

Data Analytics

• Use internal data systems (e.g. Salesforce, analytics dashboards) to assess campaign performance and inform future communications strategy.
• Regularly track key KPIs such as application conversion rates, social media engagement, and stakeholder reach.

Other

• Keep abreast of digital developments, providing expertise to the wider organisation
• Work with the team to suggest improvements to our marketing and communications strategy

Person Specification

We welcome applications from individuals who have experience in:

• Experience in marketing and communications planning, ideally in the education or non-profit sectors
• Experience developing content and campaigns targeted primarily at young people, while also engaging diverse stakeholders such as teachers, parents, and alumni.
• Demonstrated ability to use data and digital tools (e.g. Salesforce, Google Analytics, social media scheduling) to drive communications
• Strong copywriting, editing, and content design skills across print and digital
• Experience working with brand guidelines and delivering multi-channel campaigns
• Excellent verbal and written communication and strong analytical skills
• High degree of initiative and the ability to take responsibility for discrete projects and workstreams

We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Administrator to support the smooth running of our Programmes and Operations. This role is essential in ensuring that our logistics, partnerships, and communications run efficiently, allowing us to reach and support more young people. You will work closely with suppliers, referrers, and our internal team to coordinate key aspects of our programmes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Programme & Operations Support

• Support the coordination of OSH’s residentials, events, and programmes, ensuring logistics run smoothly.

• Arrange bookings (e.g. facilitators, venues, catering, transport) to ensure contracts and payments are managed efficiently.

• Assist in staff recruitment and volunteer management with recruitment, interview scheduling, onboarding, inductions, organising meetings and receiving feedback.

Administrative & Organisational Support

• Maintain accurate records, databases, and documentation to ensure compliance and efficiency.

• Handle general inquiries via email and phone, acting as a key point of contact for external stakeholders.

Partnerships & Referrals

• Communicate with referrers (such as youth groups, schools, social workers, and community organisations) to ensure young people are referred and engaged in our programmes.

• Support with phoning participants and referrers to support them to complete sign up forms where necessary

• Track and monitor referral processes, ensuring smooth communication and follow-ups with referrers to maximise participation at our events

• Maintain good relationships with external partners such as venues, facilitators, transport companies and other organisations we work with. 

Finance & Compliance Support

• Assist with financial administration, such as processing invoices, logging donations, and tracking expenses.

• Ensure OSH meets data protection and safeguarding requirements, keeping records up to date.

Other duties

• Getting involved in OSH events in the evenings and at weekends, including residentials. These are overnight trips from 2 to 5 nights
