Mae ein Swyddog Llywodraethu yn chwarae rhan ganolog wrth gefnogi strwythurau arweinyddiaeth a llywodraethu'r Gymdeithas i gyflawni ein strategaeth pum mlynedd uchelgeisiol er budd Cymru. Byddai'r swydd hon yn addas i unigolyn rhagweithiol a hynod drefnus sy'n hyderus wrth weithio'n annibynnol ac ar y cyd, ac sydd wedi ymrwymo i lywodraethu'n dda o fewn tîm deinamig a phwrpasol.

Ynglŷn â'r rôl

Gan weithio o dan arweiniad y Clerc, byddwch yn chwarae rhan allweddol wrth gefnogi cyflawniad swyddogaeth llywodraethu'r Gymdeithas yn effeithiol. Mae hyn yn cynnwys sicrhau bod ein Cyngor, ein Pwyllgorau a'n prosesau llywodraethu yn gweithredu'n llyfn, yn broffesiynol, ac yn unol â Siarter Frenhinol ac Is-ddeddfau'r Gymdeithas.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the continued development of the Learned Society of Wales by ensuring we are well-governed, professional, effective, and operating to the highest standards. Our Governance Officer plays a central role in supporting the Society’s leadership and governance structures to deliver our ambitious five year strategy to benefit Wales. This post would suit a proactive and highly organised individual who is confident working both independently and collaboratively, and who is committed to upholding good governance within a dynamic and purposeful team.

LSW supports active Welsh learners at all levels. Fluency in Welsh is not a requirement of this post, but the ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable and a willingness to learn is essential.

About the role

Working under the guidance of the Clerk, you will play a key role in supporting the effective delivery of the Society’s governance function. This includes ensuring that our Council, Committees, and governance processes operate smoothly, professionally, and in accordance with the Society’s Royal Charter and Bye-laws.

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented individual who is highly organised, able to manage competing priorities with discretion, and confident working both independently and collaboratively. You will provide practical support in the preparation and follow-up of governance meetings, maintaining high standards of accuracy and professionalism throughout.

Your responsibilities will include assisting with the organisation and documentation of Council and Committee meetings, supporting the administration of elections, and contributing to broader governance activities such as the Fellowship nomination cycle and reporting processes.
