We are looking for an Interim Supporter Engagement Officer on a 12 month fixed term contract, who will be the first point of call for supporters across four areas of our fundraising programme: in-memory giving, individual giving (cash & regular gifts), community & events fundraising and social challenges/virtual fundraising.

 Our Public Fundraising Team works closely together to steward our supporters, you would be responding to incoming queries, delivering established stewardship journeys and helping to shape the development of new ways of communicating with our supporters.

The role is a full time, 35 hours per week, fixed term position. We currently offer a hybrid-working model. Making Music is the UK association for leisure-time music, with 4,000 music groups in membership including choirs, bands, ensembles of all kinds, orchestras, and more.

We are looking for a full-time Making Music Platform Manager. The role sits within our Membership & Services Team and is responsible for the delivery of our Making Music Platform service to members.

Making Music Platform is an online platform to help them run their music groups. It includes:

• A public facing website
• A member login area
• Databases to manage membership and activities
• Email communication with members and supporters
• Tools to help with group management including: document sharing, invoicing, data reporting and taking card payments for memberships, merchandise and event bookings

What are the terms and conditions?

The 37.5 hours per week can be worked flexibly, and some from home, by agreement with your line manager. We expect at least 3 days to be in the office in Moorgate. The salary is £32,010/year.

The Role

The Candidate
Strong experience of delivering fundraising work plans to achieve against set income targets across all areas of responsibility (i.e., public donations, member schemes, community fundraising).

Significant experience of effective line-management and of managing fundraising teams.

Experience of donor audiences, supporter journeys and fundraising programme insight to take an audience-led approach to delivering fundraising campaigns.

Experience of digital and direct marketing strategy to improve engagement and deliver income targets.

They will work on our high-profile campaign to reduce emissions from food systems and hold big corporate polluters accountable. The position is full-time (37.5 hours per week) with a semi-flexible working environment (daily working hours are flexible but attendance at the London office is expected three days a week).

The Role:

We are looking for a Senior Campaigner or Campaign Manager with at least seven years’ experience in running campaigns and a proven track record of success. This role has a strong focus on research and the successful candidate should have experience in commissioning and conducting investigations, managing external contractors and writing campaign reports. They should have outstanding inter-personal skills and be a team player with a good network of NGO contacts and the ability to form collaborative working relationships with a variety of different stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

· Lead the implementation of high-impact campaign strategies and tactics for our Growing the Good campaign.

· Conduct research and analysis to inform campaign messaging and write reports, blogs, responses to consultations, etc. to advance our campaign goals.

· Ensure the impactful roll-out of campaign activities across media, digital platforms, and amplify our messages via coordination with partners, through organisation of events and other outreach activities.

· Build and maintain strong relationships with a range of stakeholders, including NGOs, journalists, researchers, policymakers and corporates.

Requirements:

The successful candidate must have:

- demonstrable experience in running and winning international campaigns;

- excellent analytical skills;

- the ability to lead, implement and coordinate research (either in-house or by external consultants) to create the evidence base needed to win campaigns;

- a good eye for detail combined with a strong ability to distill and critically evaluate key information and translate it into simple campaign materials;

- excellent writing skills in English, which will be needed to draft reports and investigations;

- networking skills and a proven ability to create and run diverse coalitions;

- good organisational skills with the ability to deliver to tight deadlines, multi-task and operate in a fast-paced environment with occasional heavy workloads; 

- the ability to think out-of-the-box and to adapt campaign plans to changing circumstances;

- willingness to travel, sometimes at short notice;

- an interest in environmental issues with a passion for creating lasting social change.

It’s a plus if the candidate has:

- good knowledge of debates surrounding environmental and climate change issues;

- experience in handling media relations;

- good knowledge of how to use social media creatively to win campaigns;

- experience of managing a grant budget and delivering narrative impact reports to funders

This is a brand new role with Action Duchenne, leading our new Fundraising and Communications team. This role is part of the Senior Leadership Team.

Main Purpose of the Role:

To manage, lead and support the Fundraising and Communications Team to retain donors, increase income and provide clear direction for our communications. This role will involve supporting relationships with sponsors of Action Duchenne’s International Conference, developing and implementing the fundraising and communications strategy, and reviewing our case for support for our core work and projects.

Specific Tasks:

The focus areas and key deliverables of this role are as follows:

• Develop and deliver on a clear fundraising and communications strategy, with annual action plans and clear objectives and KPIs for team members.

• Understand and keep abreast of sector trends and compliance updates relating to fundraising and communications

• Develop and maintain oversight of all budgets, targets, forecasts and processes relating to fundraising and communications

• Co-ordinate the prioritising of income streams, including community, individual giving, corporate, legacy and trust and grants

• Research, identify, and where there is capacity, pursue income generation opportunities that match the objectives of Action Duchenne

• Ensure Action Duchenne is compliant with all applicable elements of the Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Fundraising Practice, law, and the Charity Commission relating to fundraising

• Research, identify and apply to Trusts and Foundations with a clear pipeline

• Prepare reports for Trustees either for the full Board, or where required, to sub committees, which will include fundraising and communications progress against objectives.

• With a team keen to learn, provide leadership and hands on support to ensure objectives are achieved

• Undertake a review of all Communications materials, including social media and website

• Lead by example across the team and organisation

• Be part of, and therefore contribute towards and prepare for Senior Leadership Team meetings

• Identify existing or potential events to develop relationships with funders, including Action Duchenne’s annual international conference

• Feed in to the development of the international conference, led by the Head of Operations & Events

• Work with staff across the organisation to ensure all elements of work are collaborative, specifically when submitting funding bids or developing the annual international conference

• To maintain the contact database, keeping it up to date and accurate

• Continue to invest in professional development in yourself and your team, including safeguarding

• Identify opportunities, alongside the team, for cross team working - including residentials; family events; Science Educations workshops with regional meetups and education visits to schools and local authorities.

• Obtain, decipher and provide training to the Support Team on new updates relevant to Duchenne families, such as DLA, EHCP and more.

• Work closely with your team, to ensure that each family receives the best support possible, and that long-term support is provided.

• Lead on the development and delivery of monthly reporting of engagement and support contact, which will feed into the wider All Through Support journey. 

• To work with the Head of Operations and Events to contribute to Agenda topics and speakers from the community; assign roles for the conference to the Support Team.

• Establish a database for external stakeholders also supporting those living with Duchenne on a national basis, fed in to from the Support Team.

• To develop a triaging and caseload process for the Support Team, and how best to regularly monitor this.

• Be involved in the recruitment, selection, and induction of volunteers appropriate to your area of work. 

• Coordinate cover for the Support Team when there is sickness or leave.

Over 10 sessions, participants work with a professional producer in our private studio to create, record, and release their own music, building confidence and gaining new skills along the way. Alongside music-making, participants can also gain a King’s Trust qualification in Personal Development and Employability Skills, receive tailored mentoring from Trailblazers to support them into employment, and join our alumni programme for live performance opportunities, industry masterclasses, and ongoing support.

The Programme Coordinator is a new role within the Finding Rhythms team. Based on the success of the Making Waves programme over the last year, we now are in the process of expansion - with plans to increase delivery and engage more participants. The Programme Coordinator fulfills an essential role to support successful expansion of the programme whilst maintaining maximum impact for participants and partners.

To be successful in the role, you will be a highly motivated and proactive individual. You will support the day-to-day running of the programme on site, providing administrative support, and being the first point of contact for programme participants. You will have a person-centred approach, empathy and patience, alongside excellent attention to detail and an ability to think ahead. You will be passionate about music’s ability to transform lives.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

REFERRALS AND ON-BOARDING
● Processing a high volume of referrals of participants onto the programme, in a time-effective manner, ensuring all essential information is gathered and recorded
● Communicating regularly with participants and referral partners on the status and timeframe of their place on the programme
● Responding to general enquiries about the programme and distributing relevant information
● Encouraging participants to attend including identifying issues and providing solutions
● Briefing participants in the lead up and throughout the duration of the programme
● Being the on site point of liaison for the programme

PROGRAMME COORDINATION
● Ensuring all relevant paperwork is completed and processed
● Updating the musician and Programme Manager with key information in the lead up to sessions and on the day
● Liaising with partnering organisation Trailblazers Mentors and participants to organise mentoring sessions on-site and online
● Ensuring the studio is clean, tidy, and correctly equipped
● Ensuring studio ‘rules’ are adhered to and sessions run smoothly, flagging any issues to the Programme Manager
● Supporting the Programme Manager with the alumni programme including the organisation of live performance events and industry masterclasses

OUTREACH AND COMMUNICATIONS
● Organising and attending outreach and taster sessions across multiple locations (some of which will take place in prisons)
● Being the main point of contact for participants and alumni, sending reminders and general information about upcoming events
● Supporting on organisation and coordination of Finding Rhythms events
● Taking photographs for social media, sharing ‘success stories’ and case studies

GENERAL
● Ad hoc tasks as required, as Finding Rhythms is a small organisation, flexibility is required in every role so we can help and support each other wherever necessary

We are delighted to be working exclusively with a well-known charity, who are seeking a Direct Marketing and Legacy Manager. This exciting opportunity begins in September on a 12-week contract, making it ideal for someone finishing a contract in August or looking to start a new role after the summer break. There is also the potential for this position to become permanent following the initial contract period.

This role is crucial in supporting the strategic direction and operational plans for individual giving programmes, including appeals, regular giving, and legacies, with the aim of maximising net income from both new and existing streams. The Direct Marketing and Legacy Manager will play a key part in reigniting the legacy programme and growing overall Individual Giving income to ensure long-term support for their service users. 

Key responsibilities:

• Work with the Head of department to plan and oversee retention and acquisition campaigns, ensuring they meet income and expenditure targets.

• Create KPIs and income targets, measuring and reporting on progress against the Individual Giving and Legacy strategy, making data-driven decisions.

• Further the Digital Strategy, optimising digital response as a primary opportunity.

• Develop and implement a multi-year legacy strategy to build a strong legacy pipeline, consistently meeting or exceeding annual income targets.

• Develop and manage new Retention and Acquisition initiatives.

• Manage existing activities, review, evaluate, and report on them in a timely manner to optimise and expand income goals.

• Ensure close working across the organisation to demonstrate impact and build collaborative funding approaches.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge on sector and market trends and the legal environment impacting legacy fundraising.

• Create a legacy stewardship plan and manage the portfolio of legacy supporters and prospects.

• Create clear supporter journeys for new and existing supporters, legacy donors, and prospects.

• Write and coordinate the delivery of persuasive legacy marketing, cultivation, and stewardship materials.

• Maintain meticulous records on the CRM and work closely with the Legacy Administrator to ensure income is properly received, recorded, and reported.

• Build excellent working relationships with colleagues across the organisation and key partners.

• Work with other members of the team to create a long-term strategy to improve joint communications.

• Work with the communication team to build a bank of personal stories for compelling appeals.

• Manage expenditure and work with the Head of department on budget management and pipeline reporting.

• Contribute to a supportive, high-performing, and collaborative working culture.

Person Specifications:

• Excellent organisation, time management, and multi-tasking skills.

• Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills, with a passion for delighting supporters.

• Knowledge of fundraising laws and regulations in relation to data protection and compliance.

• Extensive knowledge of the Institute of Fundraising Code of Practice.

• Experience of managing direct marketing campaigns in a charity environment and direct experience of overseeing a legacy strategy to build or re-invigorate a legacy pipeline.

• Experience of managing external agencies and suppliers.

• Experience of detailed analysis and evaluation of activities.

• Experience of developing digital communications.

• Strong experience of legacy fundraising with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding six or seven-figure annual legacy income targets.

• An outstanding track record and aptitude for creating meaningful connections with high-value prospects and partners.

• Experience planning and executing annual stewardship activities and events.

• Extensive experience working with non-fundraising colleagues to strengthen fundraising activity.

• Management or mentorship of staff and/or volunteers.

• Previous budget and KPI management experience, including preparation of annual fundraising strategies, plans, and reports.

• A proactive, self-starter who is comfortable working alone but can also be a team player.

• Ability to take a hands-on approach in a rapidly changing environment, adapting as necessary.

• £181.74 daily rate + £27.26 daily holiday pay (£209.00 total PAYE)

You will be joining a friendly and face paced fundraising team to identify, support and retain regional supporters. You will be responsible for

* Driving engagement across your region (and beyond) to proactively identify, support, and retain supporters.

* Working with the wider Regional Fundraising Team and collaborate on relationships that might be across the UK

*You'll be generating a strong network of community and corporate supporters to secure sustainable income for the charity. You'll also be building a pipeline of prospects of community and corporate to ensure future support.

About you

To be successful in this role you must have
*Demonstrable knowledge of what it takes to proactively identify, develop, and cultivate supporters to maximise income and deliver against KPIs, objectives and the Community Team business plan.

*A good knowledge of the fundraising landscape and opportunities in the UK

*Experience of building and account managing/stewarding a personal portfolio of high value supporters & corporate partners, volunteers and in aid of events to achieve your financial target.
