Sands offers support to anyone affected by the death of a baby. 

Our volunteers are incredible! They run peer support, community-based activity, build relationships with hospitals, run football teams, cheer at events and much more. Putting them first and enabling the activity they deliver is the primary goal of the Community and Volunteering Team.

Local peer-led bereavement support is a core part of what we do here at Sands. This is primarily delivered by Support Groups and Sands United football teams run by dedicated volunteers right across the UK, most of whom are bereaved themselves. There are 84 Groups and 40 Sands United team across the UK who provide safe and welcoming spaces to be there for each other.

This is a high-profile and exciting new role which is responsible for ensuring that anyone affected by baby loss or the death of a baby has the chance to access Sands peer led activities in Northern Ireland, promoting sport and activities for health, wellbeing and support services and groups, ensuring that all sections of the community are aware of available activities and where they can go to be part of the community.

We are looking for successful, demonstrable experience of working with minoritised communities and a good working understanding of the barriers people experience accessing bereavement support and care in statutory, health and community settings.

With experience of coordinating volunteering programmes on a regional or national basis, you will be passionate and knowledgeable about the potential for volunteering within the charity sector.

You will have excellent communication skills suitable for a range of different audiences and environments, with significant experience of volunteer management and relationship building.

Additionally, you will have experience of working with marginalised communities together with an understanding of the barriers to accessing bereavement support that these communities encounter.

About the role

We are excited to be recruiting for an Access Projects Officer to join the Access Projects team. 

The Access Projects team oversees the development and delivery of bespoke access projects in collaboration with other institutions (typically universities and schools).  Projects are designed to meet the needs and context of a partner institution and underrepresented groups of students. The Access Projects Officer role plays a key part in delivering our Join the Club strategy goals, including driving our work with priority groups of students.

Reporting to the Head of Learning and Programme Design, you will:

• Work with a range of stakeholders including tutors, schools and partner institutions to design, deliver and evaluate the projects that you lead on,
• Lead on project renewal conversations with project partners,
• Organise, manage and deliver bespoke pupil-facing events,
• Track and evaluate resource use for each project against predicted use.

Scope of role

The People & Culture Partner will provide expert support across the full employee lifecycle from attraction and recruitment, to onboarding, development, performance management, and exit. Essential Criteria:

• CIPD Level 5 minimum.
• Proven track record in HR/People roles, including managing complex employee relations cases (grievance, disciplinary, absence and performance management) providing guidance to managers and supporting individuals through processes.
• Experience managing payroll processes, either directly or through outsourced providers, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Proven experience leading end-to-end recruitment, including role scoping, advertising, shortlisting, interviewing, and selection.
• Experience designing and delivering onboarding and induction programmes that support new staff to integrate effectively and feel engaged from the outset.
• Experience of drafting HR policies and procedures and conducting gap analysis on HR systems.
• Experience supporting managers and advising through consultation processes such as TUPE and/or redundancy.
• Strong organisational, communication, and conflict resolution skills.

• Understanding of trauma-informed approaches and a commitment to developing organisational culture to ensure inclusion and diversity.

• Experience working in a unionised environment and demonstrate a high level of discretion and confidentiality.

• Experience working in a similar role within the charity or non-profit sector is preferred.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including active listening, with the ability to determine business goals and suggest ways to achieve them through HR initiatives.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established and evolving charity that supports a vital but often overlooked community across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

In this dynamic and varied role, you’ll lead the development and delivery of regional and local corporate partnerships, ensuring strong engagement with businesses across the rural economy. You’ll collaborate with internal teams and regional volunteer networks to secure sponsorships, unlock fundraising potential, and drive community engagement.

As a Corporate Community Fundraiser you will:

• Develop and manage regional and local corporate partnerships to increase income and engagement.
• Plan and support events, campaigns and initiatives with sponsorship opportunities for corporate supporters.
• Design and promote programmes that encourage workplace giving, staff volunteering, and matched donations.
• Provide training and support to volunteers to help them engage local businesses and corporate sponsors.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Events, Marketing, Volunteering, and Finance.
• Track and report on performance, ensuring alignment with budgets and strategic goals.
• Use CRM systems (Microsoft Dynamics) to manage donor relationships and identify new opportunities.
• Ensure fundraising activity is compliant with GDPR and sector best practice.

You’ll be a confident communicator with a proven track record in either corporate or community fundraising. You’re motivated by building connections, spotting opportunities, and delivering tangible results.

To be successful, you must have experience:

• Experience in corporate or community fundraising within the charity sector
• Demonstrable success in developing and growing corporate partnerships
• Strong project management and organisational skills
• Excellent relationship building and interpersonal communication
• Financial awareness and experience managing budgets
• Comfortable using CRM systems (ideally Microsoft Dynamics)
• Understanding of fundraising compliance and best practices
• A self-starter with creativity, confidence and a collaborative mindset
• Empathy for rural communities and an understanding of their challenges

Desirable

• Experience in a charity supporting agricultural or rural communities
• Knowledge of the farming sector and rural businesses
• A full UK driving licence (travel across England and Wales required)

Salary: £33,000 – £35,000 depending on experience + Car allowance

Location:  Flexible working environment (with some in-office time in Oxford)

mary Duties and Responsibilities

• Legal Strategy: Collaborate with our Executive Director to develop and implement effective legal strategies to advance our objectives. Conduct research and analysis to identify key issues and tactics to drive impactful change.

• Supervise: Supervise the legal caseworkers in their legal strategy and research. 

• Advocacy opportunities: Communicate legal strategy with the Advocacy and Communications Officer to ensure opportunities to advocate and communicate are not missed. 

• Public Relations: Represent The Animal Law Foundation at events, conferences, and public forums to raise awareness of animal law and policy issues. Collaborate with partner organisations and stakeholders to amplify our legal strategy and build strategic alliances.

• Project Evaluation: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of legal initiatives. Analyse data and feedback to inform future strategies and improve outcomes.

• Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with key stakeholders, including lawmakers, government agencies, NGOs, and the public, to build support for our objectives. Coordinate advocacy efforts, coalition-building, and public consultations.

What does The Animal Law Foundation do? 

The Animal Law Foundation was registered with the Charity Commission in August 2022. It is primarily a legal research charity that looks into neglected areas of animal law and where appropriate will instruct lawyers to bring legal challenges to secure any systems in place to protect animals function as they should.

Groups like this exist in the environmental and the human rights space in the UK and in the animal protection space in other countries. There is a desperate need for such work to exist for animals in the UK. 

The UK still has some of the best animal welfare laws in the world, yet the opportunity for vast change contained within these laws is rarely explored. Through exploring these opportunities the whole system for animals can be improved and set global examples. 

It is of vital importance that laws that exist to protect animals are understood and applied. The Animal Law Foundation will work alongside stakeholders to ensure that this happens. 

Carers UK is looking for an Account Executive to support the Income Generation and Communication team in delivering activities to maintain and grow significant income from Carers UK’s products and services, namely the Employers for Carers forum.

With the Carers Leave Act now a statutory requirement for all employers to support unpaid carers by giving five days unpaid carers leave, this is a pivotal time for working carers to receive the right support to remain in work.

About you

You will be highly confident approaching and building rapport with prospective and existing clients with a commitment to a sustained high level of outbound communication. Collaborative in approach and with excellent communication skills you will have the ability to prioritise and manage a combination of different tasks and work effectively and efficiently to tight deadlines.    

About the role

Carers UK’s Income Generation and Communication team is responsible for the organisation’s income stream. You will be a self-starter, with account management and sales experience, who will assist the team to develop, deliver and grow its earned income activities. You will carry out prospects research to support new business development, while building relationships through active client engagement. You will receive relevant training, guidance and coaching.
