We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Operations Manager to join our team in Stoke. This role is offered as office based. Regular travel will be required throughout the area. The role is full time working 37.5 hours per week usually Monday to Friday but 1 in 3 Saturdays are required on a rota basis with a alternative day off in lieu.

About the role:
As an Operations Manager (with allowance), you will be leading several services working to support victims across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent. Currently these include the Staffordshire Victim Gateway, Harmony ASB and Mediation service and the Restorative Justice service. You will ensure the provision of these high-quality services, maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, and work alongside the Area Manager to promote and develop our victim services in the area.
You will:
- Lead the service teams to deliver excellent and high quality support to victims of crime and major incidents
- Directly manage service leads/team leaders and have oversight of volunteering activity across the services
- Prepare and deliver reports for contract monitoring, helping to retain and improve current commissioned contracts, ensuring all KPIs are met and effective case studies provided
- Co-develop and implement business plans and ensure team aware of each service's mission and vision
- Monitor local opportunities to build and maintain relationships with funders and all stakeholders. Represent the services in external forum and be proactive to advocate for victims needs
- Work closely with other Victim Support services in the county and beyond
- Promote and lead innovative approaches to improve support for victims.
- Raise the profile of the services and ensure they are accessible and inclusive
- Contribute to the wider work of Victim Support, shaping our campaigning and service design.
About You:
Ideally, you will have proven experience in a similar organisation, demonstrating proactive, innovative, and effective management skills and the ability to secure high levels of performance, motivation, commitment, teamwork, collaboration, and trust from colleagues.
Experience in effective partnership working is essential. Strong communication skills are required, including the ability to deliver presentations, and raise awareness for the services.
Ideally you will have:
- Proven service delivery success
- Leadership of diverse, multi-site teams
- A good understanding of the Criminal Justice system and issues arising for victims of crime

What the job involves
We have an exciting opportunity to join our sector-leading Community Fundraising team as a Community Fundraising Executive.
We’re an ambitious charity with a bold mission and fantastic culture. As a key member of the Community Fundraising team, you’ll work alongside the Community Fundraising Managers, Executives and Co-ordinators to achieve the exciting growth plans in our new 3 -year fundraising strategy.

We are looking for a new Office Manager to organise and coordinate administration duties and office procedures in the charity. Your role is to create and maintain a pleasant work environment, ensuring high levels of organizational effectiveness, communication and safety. Role Purpose
You will be responsible for building and maintaining partnerships with hyperlocal, local, and national businesses, stewarding the organisations to become Mustard Tree’s partners, and for us to be their ‘Charity of the Year’, donating to and fundraising for the charity.
You will manage an existing caseload of these valued partners, with the opportunity to proactively create new relationships and partnerships, contacting through multiple channels, creating content, and hosting, touring, and presenting to businesses.
In addition to corporate partnerships, you will manage the recruitment and stewardship of Mustard Tree’s events fundraisers, being responsible for the administration, making sure all places are filled, planning the events, and helping all participants hit their fundraising targets.
Main Duties
Corporate Partnership
- Steward a cohort of existing Corporate Partners through email updates, calls, social media activity and booking monthly check-ins, as well as sharing infographics, case studies, events information, and newsletters when useful.
- Proactively build new relationships, ultimately securing new donors, partners, and ‘Charity of the Year’ organisations. Make it clear and easy for donors to understand what we do, how they can help, and the impact they will have.

RSTMH is a membership society formed in 1907, with around 1,800 members and Fellows in over 100 countries. We work to improve tropical medicine and global health by enabling and promoting research, sharing knowledge and convening networks through our members and Fellows and beyond. The Communications Manager will have the opportunity to develop and enhance RSTMH’s reputation as a credible and trusted voice in tropical medicine and global health.
This is a wide-ranging and exciting role. You will lead on implementing the organisation’s communications strategy, working with the leadership team to ensure it meets the aims of the wider RSTMH strategy. You’ll maintain and further develop the website and social media platforms, build links with media contacts, and source, commission and develop content. As a Senior Event Planner, you will be a key member of their experienced and dynamic team. You will play a crucial role in converting high-revenue business opportunities and planning and coordinating both physical and hybrid events. Your efforts will help maximise income and fill unsold spaces which support our revenue targets. You will also drive high performance and engagement within the team by deputising for the diary/revenue and team managers as needed, and by supervising the commercial planning team to ensure best practices and change initiatives are implemented.
In addition to managing your own events, you will support the sales team by planning and coordinating events converted from new prospective clients with high revenue potential. Your role will involve maintaining and developing high-value key accounts, networking with existing clients, and engaging with past users to generate future business and develop new leads. A strong commercial awareness of profitable business and current industry trends is essential.
Responsibilities include:
- Liaising with customers from the initial enquiry stage, right through the customer journey to post event follow up including for physical, hybrid and virtual events.
- Arranging and conducting client venue visits, handling enquiries and following up with detailed proposals.
- Demonstrating an in-depth knowledge of the product, pricing and packages on offer,
- Demonstrating commercial awareness in order to successfully negotiate with customers to win their business.
- Participating in site visits, handling enquiries and taking ownership of large revenue events, as directed by the Business Development Manager.
- Ensuring the successful delivery of events, by communicating, coordinating and compiling event details and liaising with the event operations and front of house teams.
- Preparation and processing of accurate deposits and invoices.
- Generating and reporting on activities as required.
- Yield management, ensuring up to date activities and maintenance of accounts in the CRM system.
- Creating and managing Key Account plans.
- Delivering a consistently high level of customer service.
Experience
- Educated to A-level, or equivalent business or event management qualification.
- Demonstrate relevant experience in Event Planning and Coordination with the skills, knowledge and commercial understanding required for the role.
- Working in a direct planning role within the hospitality/events industry specialising in conferences, meetings, dining and events, with a minimum of 2 years of experience.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft office applications.
- Being commercially aware of finance, budget management and working in a profitable business.
- Having knowledge of food and beverage in the context of the hospitality and events industry.
- Ability to prioritise your own workload and completing tasks with a high level of accuracy.
