Job description

Head of Journalism (Volunteer)
Kenningwell United Women’s Football Club (KUWFC) 
Remote / South London (occasional match attendance encouraged)  Peckham/Dulwish 
Commitment: Up to 3 hours per week

About Us 
Kenningwell United WFC is a non-profit women’s football team in the Greater London Women’s Football League. As part of the She’s Got Skills collective, we celebrate and promote women’s football, wellbeing, and inclusion.


Role Overview
Are you ready to lead and inspire? We’re seeking a creative, motivated Head of Journalism (Volunteer) to shape our club’s media voice and storytelling. This is an exciting opportunity for anyone passionate about sports journalism, leadership, and championing women’s grassroots football.

What you’ll do:
- Plan and produce compelling match reports, interviews, features, and news for our website and social channels
- Coordinate and support a small team of volunteer writers (if applicable)
- Work closely with coaches, players, and staff to uncover stories and insights
- Ensure all content reflects our values of inclusion, accuracy, and positivity
- Work flexibly—manage your own schedule (up to 3 hours/week)

What we’re looking for: 
- Strong writing, editing, and communication skills
- Experience in journalism, media, or content creation (students, graduates, and experienced writers welcome)
- Passion for women’s football and community sport
- Ability to work independently and manage a small team
- Familiarity with social media and web publishing (a plus)
