This new role has been established to lead and implement the audience and business growth
strategy for ICA audiences alongside developing and delivering a sustainable, entrepreneurial
and revenue generating business growth model.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Philanthropy
- Lead, develop and implement a Business Growth strategic plan that brings a mix of
sustainable income derived from individual giving, trusts and foundations and corporate
sponsorships - Work with the Director to develop strategic revenue generation opportunities across the
business and key ICA stakeholders - Lead a Fundraising team to research prospective donors and supporters and build a
pipeline of donor acquisition, including bespoke donor packages - Collaborate with strategic partners on the development of compelling partnership
funding/income/business growth proposals - Maintain an overview of trends and developments in fundraising and business growth
across the artistic and cultural sector - Contribute to business growth and fundraising forecasts to the annual and longer-term
strategic business planning process. - Ensure effective CRM measures are in place and leading on timely and applicable
communications to key stakeholders including audiences, funders and members - Alongside the Director, personally steward relationships with major individual donors
and key decision makers in trusts and foundations - Lead on data collection processes and analytics in relation to audiences, participants and
donors.
Audiences & Communications
- Lead, develop and implement an Audiences and communications strategy alongside the
ICA’s internal and external colleagues and PR agencies - Lead marketing campaigns for ICA’s work and manage a range of activity that supports
ICA to meet its organisational objectives - Maintain and develop ICA’s brand in international, national and local markets, ensuring
ICA’s identity is maintained across all communications channels - Oversee the ICA platforms including its website, socials, media and the overall user
experience to ensure that they serve the organisational objectives - Develop and deliver a coherent marketing and communications strategy that promotes
ICA, and enables the institution to meet its income targets - Develop, implement and maintain ICA’s overall digital and social media strategy
- Stay appraised of new opportunities for promoting ICA
- Alongside the Director and in consultation with ICA’s external PR agency as needed, lead
on PR strategy and response plans - Provide support, direction and guidance for any crisis PR and comms strategies,
overseeing their subsequent implementation - Ensure due diligence to GDPR is met across ICA’s Marketing and Communications
activity - Oversee data collection processes and analytics in relation to audiences, participants
and donors - Control the marketing budget to ensure that resources are managed as effectively as
possible, and that all spend delivers against key departmental objectives.
Governance & Reporting
- Ensuring all fundraising and business growth activity is ethical and fully compliant with
relevant UK charity and financial management regulation - Leading the Fundraising team to complete all business growth/fundraising reporting as
required including Arts Council England NPO reporting - Reporting to the Director and Board of Trustees on the strategy and delivery of the ICA’s
business growth with the ability to flex and respond effectively when variances arise - Reporting to the Finance and Audit sub-committee
Team Management
- Play an active and highly collaborative role as a full member of both the Executive
Leadership Team and Senior Leadership Team - Line Manage roles of Senior Development Manager, Development Manager, Audience
and Marketing Manager, Membership Manager, Editions Coordinator, Ticketing &
Membership manager, ensuring person specific objectives are set in line with the ICA’s
strategic mission & KPIs, as well as supporting staff’s ongoing development and
appraisal processes - Contribute to the wider organisation’s implementation of business initiatives and
transformation - Working alongside members of ELT and SLT, deliver a consistent, empathetic and
pragmatic leadership
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Extensive and tangible experience in developing and delivering a communications
and audience development strategy within the arts and culture sector - A demonstrable experience in business growth and implementation especially in
relation to revenue opportunities, trusts and foundations, individual giving and
corporate sponsorship ideally within the arts and culture sector - Experience of personally managing relationships with high value individual,
organisational and institutional donors - A clear track record of meeting income targets
- A clear track record of effectively managing both internal staff members and external
consultants/agencies and audience development strategy and implementation within
the arts and culture sector - Knowledge of the practical application of effective CRM systems both across audiences
and funders - Awareness of legislation governing fundraising activity by charities in the UK.
Location: This is initially an in-office role, but following successful progression, will become a hybrid role working between home/ office and presence at outreaches across Bury/ Bolton

Primary responsibilities

- Maintains a portfolio of major donors and prospects by creating and implementing strategies for the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors with the capacity to make 5- and 6-figure annual gifts and 6- and 7-figure leadership gifts.
- The position demands experience with designing fundraising strategies and good management skills for implementing strong, prioritised and focused work plans that achieve (or exceed) the agreed organisational goals.
- Overall responsibility of the annual revenue budget, ensuring reporting requirements as defined by the VP, International Development for monthly, quarterly, and annual budget and target monitoring.
- This position shall work in tandem with the global communications team to jointly create a positive, campaign-driven image of Smile Train in the United Kingdom.
- Manage Philanthropic Advisory Council of high-level Smile Train supporters.
Experience
- Minimum seven years' experience in senior level fundraising, ideally in a leadership role with oversight over end-to-end execution.
- Knowledge of individual, corporate, foundation and major donor fundraising methodology including cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and prospecting of donors.
- Proven track record in leading fundraising and delivering income growth within a similar sized organization.
- Experience in a marketing and public relations role a plus.
Skills Required
- Minimum undergraduate university degree.
- Strong analytical skills, database proficiency and outstanding budgetary and financial skills, including target setting and monitoring and proficiency in Excel.

We specialise in horticulture, retail and general employability. Our students undertake individualised learning programmes and supported internships that lead to vocational qualifications and achieving other aims. Our charity has two learning centres in Highgate and Hornsey. The Role
This is an exciting time to join the Harington, as we have recently appointed a new Principal/CEO. We want to ensure that the Harington is able to fulfil and secure its mission to benefit our young people, both now and into the future.

You will be responsible for a portfolio of corporate partnerships to the value of £1.2m.

Older Citizens Advocacy York (OCAY) is a thriving charity dedicated to supporting older people (aged 50+) in York. OCAY provides a free, confidential, and independent advocacy service. Last year they helped 568 older people have their voices heard. Charity People are thrilled to be supporting OCAY to recruit a Charity Director to lead them into their next phase of growth and impact.
About the role:
As Charity Director, you'll work closely with a dedicated and engaged board of trustees to provide strategic direction and operational leadership of OCAY. You'll oversee all aspects of OCAY's services, manage resources effectively, and ensure financial sustainability through diversified funding streams. This is a varied and broad role which requires agility, innovation, and a passion for supporting older and vulnerable individuals. You'll be an outward facing leader, looking for collaboration and partnership opportunities with other organisations supporting older people across the city of York. You'll get involved in the coordination of outreach activities to enhance OCAY's profile and service awareness alongside managing governance requirements, including communication with regulatory bodies, cultivating strong relationships with funders and partner organisations.
About you:
We are looking for an experienced leader/manager who understands and has empathy towards older and vulnerable people. This role offers an exciting mix of strategy and getting stuck into the day-to-day operational needs of a small organisation, so the ability to balance strategic vision with operational implementation is a must. You'll be brilliant at managing and leading your team while demonstrating a commitment to diversity, equality, and inclusion. We are looking for someone who has a proven track record of achieving results and solving problems innovatively, while being confident in budgeting and financial management. We would love our Charity Director to have experience of income generation, in particular grant applications, as well as experience working with volunteer boards or management committees.

About the Opportunity
You’ll lead our portfolio of ‘on-the-ground’ work across healthy and sustainable diets, with responsibility for concept generation, innovation, piloting, commercial development (including income generation) and operational delivery, with impact a clear focus throughout. You’ll lead a senior leadership team to ensure our programmes, schemes and services achieve our 1-year and 3-year plans. You’ll be responsible for identifying opportunities and threats for the portfolio as a whole, for forging strong external relationships and partnerships, that can help to scale our impact and income. Reporting to the Programmes Director, you will be a member of the Charity Leadership Team, whilst leading, via your direct reports, a wider team of c. 50 people.
About You
You are a natural leader with an empowering, coaching style, that can bring out the best in the senior managers that you lead, helping them realise their potential whilst maintaining a clear focus on impact outcomes. You are a proven commercial and operational leader, with extensive experience of programme or product development and delivery, as well as knowledge of/interest in relevant issues including childhood health and diet, school food, and public sector procurement. You are able to collaborate effectively and influence a wide range of stakeholders, developing relationships with partners and allied organisations who can help us achieve our aims. You’re able to strategically prioritise and provide clarity, consistency and confidence for your wider team.

You will oversee the annual programme of BJAA trainings in collaboration with the Training (TC), the Postgraduate Committee (PGC) and New Approaches to Theory (NAT) group. You will also oversee selection coordination for Intensive, Modified Entry Scheme and psychotherapy trainings.

We are seeking to recruit an individual with purpose, passion and integrity to lead our Health team. We're looking for an inspiring Strategic Communications Manager who will work closely with the Executive Director of our directorate (Marketing, Fundraising & Engagement - MFE) and their Senior Leadership Team and own the coordinated approach to strategic and integrated communications. You will plan and deliver internal communications and engagement activity that maximises the impact of our directorate, including managing leadership forums, and supporting key strategic initiatives on behalf of the Executive Director.
What will I be doing?
To strategically plan and deliver a coordinated programme of internal communications and engagement activity which ensures our directorate is and continues, to be a great place to work. To evaluate the impact of this communication, including using internal data (e.g. staff surveys) to plan interventions that improve employee experience
Be responsible for managing, compiling and drafting a range of communications for the Executive Director including fortnightly briefings, analyses & speeches, personal social media accounts, and being fully aware of current/ future issues within our directorate and the wider organisation
Lead the planning of an engaging annual directorate away day event and quarterly broadcasts that connect and inspire our people
Collaborate with teams within the Communications department and other Marketing, Fundraising and Engagement teams in the oversight, development and delivery of the MFE internal communications strategy
Develop and execute a comprehensive portfolio of external communications from the directorates senior leadership team targeted at specific audiences across key channels, in order to champion CRUK as an attractive employer and destination charity partner
Support the Executive Director on key strategic and change initiatives as required, including working with relevant members of the senior leaders to facilitate progress on change
What are you looking for?
Significant internal communications experience, or demonstrable experience in a related field (e.g. Public Relations, Marketing Communications, Employee Engagement etc) preferable. Ideally, this would have been gained in a large organisation with a dispersed/ hybrid workforce.
Strong understanding of effective internal and external communication strategies and plans. Ability to create compelling content for various communication channels
Analytical mindset with the ability to measure and evaluate the success of strategic communication and engagement initiatives
Proven ability to create and deliver high impact communications through a range of channels within tight timeframes
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to develop engaging briefings, presentations and speeches
Excellent at managing competing demands from internal stakeholders
Excellent interpersonal and networking skills with proven ability to develop and manage strong relationships with a wide range of people at all levels of the organisation
Experience working with senior leaders in a facilitative capacity, confidence to influence upwards and challenge thinking at all levels
