About the Role
 
Responsibilities of the role comprise:
 
Campaign planning

• Lead the delivery of an ambitious and creative media and campaign strategy to bring about an improved recognition of the value and impact of youth work.
• Lead on other campaign strategy and planning, utilising a range of campaign tactics integrating media, digital media and other campaign tactics, working closely with other members of the Comms team and across Directorates.
• Oversee campaign activity for the annual Youth Work Week, to ensure the campaign engages key opinion formers and provides an opportunity for those within the sector to celebrate the impactful work they do.
• Analyse campaign effectiveness, including setting and tracking metrics across digital and traditional media.
• Ensure campaign plans are fully scoped and uploaded to the online project management system.
• Leading on strategic approaches to celebrity supporters / ambassadors and ongoing relationship management.

 
Press Office function

• Lead proactive media monitoring, enabling timely responses to significant developments and tracking positions on issues relating to NYA’s work.
• Develop key messages and positioning statements on issues in the youth sector and NYA’s activities, role and stance and promote consistency of messaging across NYA’s channels.
• Managing and responding to reactive media enquiries, providing statement and reactive ‘lines to take’, with the support of the Head of Communications
• Producing engaging content for various channels and audiences including press releases, blogs, opinion pieces and media briefings to elevate NYA’s profile and demonstrate our expertise and thought leadership.
• Managing the media monitoring and media database, nurturing relationships with target journalists, as well as online news outlets and thought leaders on key strategic issues.
• Confidently working with charity and corporate partners to maximise opportunities to demonstrate the impact of their support.
• Provide line management and development support to two Communication Officers.

 
About You
 
Essential competencies of the Campaigns and Media Manager:

• A self-starter brimming with creative ideas and proven experience of designing and executing high-impact campaigns that bring about a measurable change in knowledge, behaviour and / or policy.
• Strong interpersonal skills for building effective relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders, including political audiences, and confident in growing new relationships and leading meetings.
• An ability to grasp complex information and distil key messages for different audiences and crucially, which tactics and channels to use to engage them
• Have proven experience and a strong understanding of the UK media landscape, with demonstrable experience of having nurtured relationships with national and sector journalists to garner high-quality coverage.
• An understanding of how to use research and intelligence gained from listening exercises and other stakeholder insights to inform campaign messaging and metrics.
• Be skilled in developing media strategics and developing case studies and using data to create compelling new hooks
• Be proficient in evaluating campaigns and media outputs, with the ability to derive insights that inform future strategies.
• Be proficient in drafting statements and media responses at speed and in line with key messages.
• Have outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce and edit content to a journalistic standard across diverse audiences and channels.
• Have an understanding of how to use social media platforms to engage audiences effectively, understanding their role in broader campaign strategies.
• Be experienced in line management and fostering the NYA culture of personal growth
• Excellent project management skills - able to keep track of all the moving parts to keep tasks on track and mitigate risks. Experience of using project management platform (or similar) would be an advantage.
• An understanding of data protection and safeguarding young people.
• A passion for using effective communications to promote youth work and celebrate the achievements of young people and youth workers.
• Highly competent in all Microsoft suite and ideally have experience of Google Drive and Sharepoint.

We are seeking an inspiring leader to build on the success of our award-winning charity. Are you an experienced manager, confident communicator and empathetic team leader looking to make a difference for wildlife and nature-based learning?

The Bird of Prey Project is a registered charity and multiple award-winning visitor centre and zoo working to conserve birds of prey, restore habitats and make wildlife education accessible. At this exciting time for the organisation, we are looking to recruit a new Charity Manager who can manage the visitor centre whilst working alongside the Board of Trustees to develop strategy and objectives for the charity. You will have the incredible opportunity to lead a team working to inspire the public about wildlife, develop the highest standards of bird welfare and restore populations of wild raptors.  

What is the role about?

The Charity Manager works directly with the Board of Trustees to manage the charity and visitor centre.

The visitor centre receives over 10,000 visitors per year who provide the majority of the charity’s income. The senior bird team provide a high standard of ethical raptor care to over 20 species, using restraint free management and free-flight techniques, and also deliver experiences and displays to the public. The Charity manager works to ensure that the site is safe and compliant with law & best practice, the senior bird team are provided with adequate resources and that the visitor centre is meeting goals for income generation.   

The charity’s mission is to Conserve birds of prey, restore habitats and make wildlife education accessible. The Charity Manager over-sees the staff team delivering the charity activities, ensuring work is recorded and reported correctly.

You would also be responsible for line managing both Deputy Centre Managers. You should be confident in making decisions and able to balance opportunity and risk. An ability to operate within and develop governance, finance and risk frameworks is also a key part of the role, and whilst a background with working with birds of prey or in wildlife conservation is not necessary, you should be passionate about The Bird of Prey Project’s mission.

Key responsibilities

• Line manage and lead personal development of the Deputy Centre Managers.
• Overseeing income generation through visitor experience, including social media and marketing
• Develop new streams of income generation – including fundraising
• Act as company secretary and ensure our compliance with our licensing requirements, Charity Commission guidance, financial regulations, the law, and other relevant regulations/guidance/best practice.
• Maintaining, updating and creating policies, procedures and risk assessments as required
• Reporting charity impact and activities

We are looking for a savvy and adaptable finance and business operations manager to support our charity with financial management, HR operations, governance and office management.

You will be an experienced manager with strong all-round finance capabilities, driven to ensure robustness and efficiency across all elements of our finance, HR and governance in a busy charity setting.

Flexibility

Our London-based staff operate on a hybrid model, working in our office within London South Bank University (one minute from Elephant and Castle tube station) on Mondays and Tuesdays (for full time staff – part-time staff are only required to work one of those days in the office) and at home for the rest of the week. We also have staff outside London who are fully home-based. We would like the HR Lead to work in the London office on either Monday or Tuesday (or both if preferred) but are flexible as to when in the week the remainder of the hours are worked, provided that there is a consistent working pattern each week.   We have specified the number of days for this role as 3-4, meaning a minimum of three and a maximum of four, depending on what the appointed candidate is able to offer on a consistent basis each week.

We are seeking a confident communicator that can help us to tell our story and our impact better, so that historic churches across the UK can stay open and in use.

Reporting to the Head of Communications, you will manage our social media accounts and their content, as well as support the charity’s newsletters and press activity. This is a multidisciplinary role; we’re looking for someone that has graphic design knowledge as well as copywriting experience.

The future of churches is our biggest heritage challenge; this is an exciting opportunity to help us draw attention to the crisis, support churches in need, and to encourage action.

First Give is a national charity that empowers young people to make a positive difference to the causes they care about. We do this by partnering with secondary schools across England and Wales, delivering a fully resourced programme that inspires an entire year group to connect with local charities and take meaningful social action — from fundraising and volunteering to campaigning and raising awareness.

This is an exciting time for First Give, as we have recently launched our three-year strategy and our ambition to activate the generosity of a million young people by 2034. In order to meet the requirements of the organisation for this ambitious growth a new 3 year fundraising strategy has been developed which includes expanding and diversifying our fundraising streams into Corporate and HNWI. We have also recently launched recruitment for a Fundraising Campaign Board Chair. The Campaign, A Route to A Million, aims to raise an additional £1.5 million over the next 3 years.

Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager

We are seeking a dynamic, strategic and relationship-driven Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager to lead on growing and stewarding First Give’s portfolio of high-value funders. This role will focus on securing income from High Net Worth Individuals and developing corporate partnerships – from first engagement to account management and delivery.

You will play a pivotal role in shaping First Give’s income growth, working closely with our Deputy Director. This role will also support key engagement activities, including hosting donors at student-led Final events and facilitating employee volunteering at schools.

This is an exciting opportunity for a confident fundraiser and communicator with experience managing and deepening relationships with both individuals and corporates – someone who thrives on strategy, storytelling, and social impact.

Corporate Partnerships

• Work with the Deputy Director and members of the Campaign Board to develop a proactive pipeline of corporate partners, focusing on strategic alignment, mutual benefit and long-term value
• Lead on developing tailored pitches, proposal decks and partner materials
• Support the delivery of corporate partnerships, including recognition, benefits, volunteering engagement and impact reporting

Donor Engagement and Stewardship

• Work with the Deputy Director and Campaign Board to identify and cultivate new HNWI prospects
• Collaborate with members of First Give’s Fundraising Campaign Board to generate and support with requests for funding to HNWI and Corporates
• Develop and implement a HNWI outreach strategy, including managing a cultivation pipeline and tracking engagement milestones
• Coordinate and deliver engaging stewardship activities and materials, including tailored updates, reports, and thank-you communications

Person Specification

Essential Experience and Skills

• Demonstrable success in securing significant income from Corporates and HNWI
• Strong experience managing relationships with institutional donors, from cultivation to reporting
• Excellent written communication skills – able to craft compelling, strategic proposals and reports
• Understanding of corporate fundraising and partnership delivery, including employee engagement and volunteering
• Confident and personable – able to represent First Give at events and in donor meetings
• Experience engaging senior stakeholders or board members
• Strong pipeline management and ability to prioritise and coordinate multiple prospects and reporting requirements

Location: Hybrid - The successful candidate will be expected to work from our London office or attend in-person meetings and host donors at school Final events up to two days per week. The remainder of the week can typically be worked remotely, with some flexibility as required.

This programme of work, based in Southwark, works among Latin American (Spanish and Portuguese-speaking) communities. The work is aimed at increasing awareness, uptake and understanding of HIV & sexual health testing, condom usage, PrEP uptake, and HIV treatment adherence alongside improving people's general health and wellbeing. The work is sessional and ad hoc, but hours will be between 5-15 hours per month. Shifts will be offered on a rota basis, Monday - Friday, with the possibility of evening and weekend working. London Youth Gateway is a sector leading service supporting 18-25 year-olds facing homelessness or rough sleeping across the capital. Our mission is to make sure young Londoners bounce back quickly and safely in times of crisis and to prevent or solve their homelessness for good. You will be playing a leading role in helping to shape the work of the partnership, its collaborative processes as well as its connections with each of the London local authorities.

This is a key role in our organisation, and we are looking for someone with demonstrable experience in partnership and stakeholder engagement who knows how to get and keep people on board to meet mutual or differing needs. The ideal candidate will be a confident communicator and persuasive negotiator with an eye for detail. You will be able to facilitate multi-agency meetings and collaboration, hold responsibility for regular reporting to the commissioner, and contribute to our broader policy and influencing work. We have big ambitions for an organisation our size, so we are on the look-out for someone who can work at their own initiative, support our different teams, and is not afraid to get hand-on with administrative tasks, while tuning into partner priorities and sniffing out great opportunities to connect.
