Our client is a free-to-attend sixth form academy split over two sites for 16-19 years olds in London. They teach 1200 young people every year and their mission is to transform the lives of young people by providing access to a world-class creative education – regardless of background. They now seek a Foundation Director on a maternity cover contract and Prospectus is excited to lead the search.

As Foundation Director, you will be responsible for personally driving fundraising over the two sites in North and East London and will balance strategic oversight with day-to-day delivery fundraising from trusts and foundations, corporates and individuals. You will be joining at the start of a new academic and financial year and will ensure fundraising targets are met over the 12 months and will provide brilliant stewardship of existing donors in a meaningful and creative way.  

The selected candidate will have a proven track record of raising six figure donations through personalised and sophisticated approaches to donors and will have examples of personally leading cultivation and stewardship of trusts and foundations, individuals, and corporate partners. The postholder will have a robust track record of managing Boards and/or high net worth senior volunteers.

Our client, a fast-growing London-based charity harnessing the power of football to transform lives, is seeking a strategic, delivery-focused Director of Programmes to lead the next phase of its operational growth. The organisation delivers accessible, high-quality football programmes to thousands of young people across London, regardless of background or ability to pay.

With ambitious plans to reach 20,000 young people each week by 2028, this senior leadership role will play a critical part in ensuring the charity’s programme delivery continues to scale without compromising on quality, impact, or accessibility. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and managing the operational engine that underpins the charity’s work, shaping the football experience on the pitch and ensuring consistency across multiple delivery sites.

This is an opportunity to lead a high-performing, mission-driven team and to embed the systems, structures, and culture needed for sustainable growth. The Director will oversee delivery and safeguarding, drive data-informed decision-making, and work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to maintain the charity’s high standards and trusted reputation.

While experience in football is not required, a deep passion for the sport and its power to drive social change is essential. This role is ideal for someone eager to lead programme delivery at scale and ensure that no young person is left behind due to their background or financial circumstances.

The ideal candidate will bring:

• Proven experience leading and scaling programme or service delivery in a fast-paced, high-growth environment

• Strong operational leadership with a data-driven mindset and digital systems expertise

• A track record of managing teams, building high-performance culture, and fostering cross-functional collaboration

Your role:

EMpower’s fundraising proposition is proven and highly differentiated – we invest in local partner organisations for 10 years; a long-term approach that dramatically improved outcomes whilst also demonstrating short term progress. Significantly, we have the unique advantage that our fundraising, administration and management costs are covered by our Board of Directors, which means that every penny donated goes to where it is needed most.

This proposition and our recent investment into fundraising means that our income has nearly doubled in the last 5 years. We have attracted new large-scale corporate donors on top of maintaining our traditional areas of relationship-based fundraising success, including HNWI from the finance sector. Yet we know we are still only scratching the surface of what’s possible. 

This new position is a response to the increasing focus on events as a key part of our fundraising and stewardship strategy. Our flagship Annual Dinner is our main fundraiser; last year we smashed our targets and raised over £2m. With this added post in our team we are confident that we can not only replicate but increase that growth. This role will take responsibility for all UK events, and resulting relationships with a small portfolio of major donors.   

When thinking about the profile of individuals who would be well suited to this role and who will help bring our events and donor stewardship in the UK to the next level, it is likely you will have consolidated events experience, a talent for building relationships and a proven track record in securing some funds, ideally through relationship-driven fundraising activity.

This is a pivotal role within our fundraising team, with shared responsibility for generating the engagement and income that drives EMpower’s strategy and vision—a future in which young people living at the margins have the opportunities, skills, and confidence to transform their lives and communities
