DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

As Mass Participation Events Officer (Challenge Events Officer), you will play a key role in engaging supporters to take part in exciting fundraising Challenge Events, from the London Marathon to cycle events and adrenaline fuelled challenges like a sky-dive or abseil, raising vital funds for disabled children and young people. You will be responsible for recruiting participants, providing excellent supporter care throughout their fundraising journey, and ensuring long-term engagement with Challengers, while managing multiple projects to create a smooth, rewarding experience for all. Alongside supporting third-party events, you will leverage your skills in marketing, social media, and event planning to maximise participation and meet ambitious fundraising targets.

Please note: this role is managing and supporting our Challenge Events program (an industry standard term for all walking/running/cycling/adrenaline challenges) and supporting individual supporters who would like to take part in these events. There will be some opportunity to organise our own Challenge Events however, the management of Challengers flagship fundraising events sits within a different role.

About The Role

We are looking for a Gift Aid Specialist to join the Royal British Legion on a fixed-term, 12-month contract to lead a review and enhancement of our Gift Aid processes'. Along with undertaking regular business activities and tasks. This role offers the chance to work closely with multiple teams to maximise Gift Aid income and ensure full compliance with HMRC regulations across more than £100 million of fundraised income. You will be the key point of contact for Gift Aid matters, supporting the organisation to strengthen its financial foundation in support of our important mission.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with colleagues from Data Services, Finance, Income Processing, and other teams to ensure claims are accurate and compliant. Managing and supporting relationships with external partners who carry out Gift Aid activities on our behalf will also be a key part of your role.

We are seeking someone who can take ownership of reviewing and updating Gift Aid policies, procedures, and training materials to reflect changing legislation. You will help embed robust monitoring and reporting frameworks, manage change programmes, and ensure that compliance and risk are effectively managed. Representing the Royal British Legion in dealings with HMRC and external auditors will be an important responsibility, requiring strong communication and organisational skills.

If you have expert knowledge of Gift Aid legislation and financial audit processes, alongside proven project management experience and the ability to engage confidently with a wide range of stakeholders, we would love to hear from you. You will be contracted to our London Hub, Haig House. Under our Future Working framework, there will be some flexibility for working remotely/at home, using our collaboration tools to work with colleagues, but with a minimum expectation of two days per week connecting directly face-to-face with colleagues at the hub.

This is an opportunity to join Refuge as a Helpline Contact Centre Manager for the National Domestic Abuse Helpline, the role is designed to provide high quality practical and emotional support to Deputy Managers across the NDAH, the postholder is also responsible for the ongoing management of our contact centre, the platform that survivors use to contact the NDAH.

The National Domestic Abuse Helpline provides a national gateway to services and survivors across the UK fleeing domestic abuse, working in consultation with the Senior Operations Manager. The post holder is required to be a strategic leader, a versatile individual with excellent people management and interpersonal skills along with knowledge of domestic abuse, housing, welfare and legislation. The post-holder will be responsible for the ongoing management of our contact centre Genesys, a platform that helps us support our survivors and professionals contacting the NDAH.

SEEAC is hiring a Welfare Support Officer (full-time or 4 days/week, 6-month maternity cover) to join our small, dedicated team supporting members of East and Southeast Asian communities in the UK.

SEEAC is a non-profit organisation that provides community-based support, especially to migrants, refugees and others facing marginalisation.

This role provides vital welfare advice, casework, and safeguarding support, including for those affected by hate crimes.

We're looking for someone with 3+ years’ experience in community or non-profit work, strong knowledge of UK welfare systems, and fluency in English and at least one ESEA language.

Key Responsibilities

• Promote and champion welfare within the community
• Provide confidential and objective casework advocacy for service users
• Safeguard the rights of survivors and witnesses of hate crimes, discrimination, and exploitation
• Administer SEEAC’s free mental health support services
• Offer welfare advice and emotional support tailored to individual needs
• Signpost service users to relevant external welfare and specialist support services
• Conduct proactive research into available support services beyond SEEAC's remit
• Maintain confidentiality, data protection, and safeguarding practices at all times

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' professional or volunteer experience in community/non-profit settings, particularly in social justice
• Proven ability to communicate clearly, listen actively, and solve problems
• Knowledge of UK welfare systems and external support networks

• Fluent in English and at least one ESEA (East and Southeast Asian) language
• Strong sense of responsibility, with commitment to safeguarding and confidentiality
