The Kidney Care UK Helpline is a new national service to support people online, on the phone and by email at the point they need support. 

This role would be ideal for someone with lived experience either as a patient, carer or health and social care professional, but primarily we’re seeking the skills to develop the processes, support knowledge development and lead a team to provide information, advice and non-medical guidance in a friendly, timely and efficient manner. 

You’ll lead from the front; answering incoming enquiries is your priority. You’ll need to be able to speak to a wide range of people and respond to them with compassion and understanding.  

Building and leading a small team, you will support them to develop knowledge and adopt best working practices. Listening to difficult conversations, their wellbeing is key and you’ll be experienced at identifying and implementing the training and support needed to thrive in a challenging but rewarding role.

Keeping accurate records of interactions using our database is essential. Reporting the outputs generated and providing insights to is also a key part of your role. We are looking for someone to join our helpline team to provide professional, comprehensive support and make a real difference to people living with PSP, CBD, their families, and carers. 

We are seeking a motivated and confident person who can deliver a high-quality professional service, to work on our helpline. Previous experience of working in health, social care or the helpline sector is essential. You need to be a patient, empathetic listener with excellent verbal and written communication skills. The role will involve assessing and responding to callers' needs via our telephone and email service providing practical and emotional support and delivering learning sessions about PSP and CBD to health and social care professionals. Ideally, you will have experience working on a helpline or in a health or social care setting.

Ability and willingness to travel within your region is essential.  Occasional weekend work may be required.  The role covers the following regions: Greater London, Kent, Essex & Surrey.

The Chief Officer will lead and manage Citizens Advice St Helens (CASH) while developing and implementing strategic and operational plans. Support project (and programme) design and set-up processes

• Build and strengthen capacity in project design across WaterAid (globally), targeting particular staff categories, through training, mentoring, coaching and the development/refreshing of tools and guidance

About You:

• Significant proven experience in designing complex projects under rigorous deadlines and involving multiple stakeholders

akt is the UK’s national LGBTQ Youth Homelessness charity. We provide safe homes, mentoring, and support to ensure that no young person needs to choose between a safe home and being who they are. 24% of young people facing homelessness in the UK identify as LGBT (National Scoping of LGBT Youth Homelessness, akt, 2015) and 78% of LGBTQ+ young people cited an absence of family support (The LGBTQ+ Youth Homelessness Report, akt, 2021). Job Summary

Please note this is a part time role working 21 hours per week with a pro rata salary of £15,450 per year (£25,750 per year full time equivalent). 

The role will involve the provision of youth engagement activities to a diverse range of LGBTQ+ young people aged 16-25 who are homeless, at risk of homelessness or living in a hostile environment. Our focus is in maintaining our ability to provide the highest service possible, giving our young people the opportunities to access peer support, community engagement and life skills. Overall, we aim to support LGBTQ+ young people into safe accommodation and work or education and prevent them from becoming homeless again in the future.

About FareShare

FareShare is the UK’s national network of charitable food redistributors, made up of 18 independent organisations. Together, we take good quality surplus food from right across the food industry and get it to nearly 9,500 frontline charities and community groups.

The role

This role is about so much more than just coordinating the day-to-day operations of a busy FareShare warehouse: it’s about sharing the FareShare mission that “no good food should go to waste”. Your work will make sure that quality surplus food is helping feed people in need.

As a Warehouse Coordinator you will be the face of FareShare, involved in the supervision of a large team of volunteers to ensure our charity members receive their food orders each week. Each shift you will be responsible for ensuring health and safety of the team supporting FareShare, whether they are regular volunteers, supporters from our corporate partners, visitors to the warehouse, or your colleagues. You will also be ensuring your team follows the food safety standards set out in the FareShare operating manual to ensure the safe receipt of food by all our charity members.

Main responsibilities

In the FareShare Regional Centre warehouse you’ll:

• Get to know your team and respond to questions about FareShare’s mission, the food partners who support us, charities who receive food and the planned activities for the day
• Work as a team with the Warehouse Manager, warehouse colleagues and volunteers to ensure all shifts are well planned, supervised and meet daily operational needs
• Be responsible for the health & safety and security of buildings, vehicles, staff and volunteers, including the delivery of appropriate health & safety briefings
• Carry out & update risk assessments as defined by the FareShare operating manual and complete risk assessments for all new activity as required
• Ensure compliance with all FareShare policies and procedures and industry standards as required by food partners and regulators and that all staff, volunteers, food suppliers, charities and visitors adhere to them

In the FareShare Regional Centre office you’ll:

• Support the Warehouse Manager in managing the office, responding to emails and taking phone calls
• Support the Warehouse Manager in organising food distribution using the FareShare food management systems and training volunteers as required

If required to drive a FareShare van, you’ll:

Operating Hours and Shift Pattern

Position will be part of a rota: Monday – Friday either 7am – 3pm/8am-4pm or 9am – 5pm and, on occasional Saturdays on a rota basis.

• Be responsible for the organisation, implementation and delivery of the national safeguarding learning and development framework  
• Provide high quality face to face and online training to office holders (Clergy, Readers, those with Permission to Officiate), employees and volunteers in the Diocese of Coventry.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of the national training and adapt materials as appropriate for the diocese.
• Network and liaise with safeguarding trainers from other dioceses and be part of the regional and national training network to share knowledge and best practice.
• Assist in supporting a small team of volunteer trainers capable of delivering training within the Diocese of Coventry.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of national and local safeguarding policies and procedures.
• Be responsible for safeguarding training administration
• In conjunction with the DSA, undertake continual evaluation, review and monitoring of the learning and development framework and other training materials so that they are kept up-to-date with new legislation, guidelines and best practice in safeguarding.
• Be responsible for safeguarding training information on different platforms
• In liaison with the DSA/ADSA, respond to and act upon requests for advice, information and guidance from individuals in the church who are concerned about the welfare of a child or adult at risk of harm.
• To undertake any other activity within the scope of the safeguarding team’s work, and the role-holder’s skills and experience, as reasonably requested by the DSA.

The post holder is an employee of the Diocesan Board of Finance (DBF) and is line managed by the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor.

Other key relationships include the Diocesan Safeguarding team, Parish Safeguarding Officers, Clergy and Readers.

An enhanced DBS check will be required.

You will work closely with the Director of Policy & Campaigns, developing our policy work on Social Security, housing and poverty and influencing decision-makers and other stakeholders including MPs, political advisors, councillors and civil society.

About You

You will be committed to social justice and will have experience of policy analysis and public affairs work in relevant social policy areas, particularly social security. You will have an aptitude for using evidence to make persuasive and credible policy arguments, strong interpersonal skills, and a track record of establishing and maintaining effective relationships with external stakeholders. About the PVRI
We’re a small charity with a global reach and an important purpose: to reduce the burden of pulmonary vascular disease.

PVD is a serious condition which can lead to heart damage and trigger symptoms like breathlessness, chest pain, fatigue, poor growth, fainting and light-headedness. It can reduce both quality of life and length of life, but it isn’t widely recognised, or well-understood.

We bring together an international network of professionals to improve clinical care, education and PVD research. The network comprises thousands of clinicians, scientists, academics and industry partners, supported by our small team in Bermondsey, London. Together we deliver conferences, e-learning, an academic journal, and we raise awareness of the condition.

Much of the work is done by international working groups, and we’re seeking a new Project Coordinator to provide administrative and project support to those groups.

About the role
The job involves co-ordinating and servicing meetings across different time zones, maintaining workgroup records, developing surveys, pulling together academic papers for publication, event planning, and project work.

We’re looking for someone with excellent organisational and administrative skills, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to write and adapt complex information to produce clear, accurate and accessible documents in English. Shannon Trust are delighted to be working with His Majesty’s Prison & Probation Service (HMPPS) to provide peer-led literacy and numeracy programmes across a number of prisons. To ensure the continuation of our programmes during times of staff absence, we are now seeking to recruit a Prison Facilitator on a bank working basis to work across the South region. Working closely with prisons and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust volunteers and mentors, this post will support with the delivery and development of our literacy and numeracy programme in the South region, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.

Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings underpinned by the ability to build relationships quickly and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach. You will also have a willingness to travel, sometimes at short notice, to provide short or long term cover within the region including some overnight stays.

This role will be prison-based. This is a bank role and so the number of days to be worked will vary and are not guaranteed.
