About the role

We are looking for a Head of Strategic Partnerships (Church of England) to join our Church Partnerships Team at Compassion UK. In this pivotal role, you will shape and lead our strategy to engage with Church of England leaders, events, and networks across the UK.

Your work will help us achieve ambitious growth targets in child sponsorship and transformational giving.

The Senior Children’s and Families Pastor is a key role within the staff team at St Stephen’s.

We are looking for someone with a passion to see children (0-11s) and their families grow as whole life disciples of Jesus, with direct experience working with children, and proven strategic leadership skills, to lead this ministry into continued growth at this exciting time for St Stephen’s.

Currently there are 4 main strands to children’s ministry at St Stephen’s:

1. Church based kid’s ministry and discipleship

2. Community pre-school and families

3. School’s ministry (St Stephen’s primary and 2 other local primary schools); and

4. Parenting (building community and pastoral support).

We expect the director of children’s ministry to oversee all these strands but directly lead the church-based ministry and at least one other area.

The successful candidate will take responsibility and strategic oversight for all 0-11 ministry, leading the kids and families team (presently consisting of a part time community families pastor, and the Associate kids pastor, to be appointed.) and the recruitment and training of a large volunteer team.

Some of the main responsibilities of the Generous Giving Enabler are:

The post holder will work closely with the Discipleship and Mission team, Director of Finance, clergy and lay leaders to develop and implement a comprehensive Giving Strategy which

• encourages confident teaching and preaching on Christian generosity and giving and supports our churches in developing their congregational giving.
• communicates the positive impact and practical costs of providing mission and ministry across the diocese, and the way in which this is funded through the parish share
• support parishes in accessing other sources of funding, including charitable funding and legacy giving and by providing access to training and resources.
• makes effective use of statistical information on parish giving and finance, and trends in diocesan and national giving

What we are looking for in a Generous Giving Enabler:

To fulfil this crucial role, you must have a committed Christian faith and be passionate about helping Christians understand and live out the call to be generous. Public speaking skills and the ability to lead training courses are also essential as is the ability to understand Church finances and familiarity with fundraising and income generation.

The new Finance Administrator will join our small and friendly UK team for 15 hours a week, starting from June. They will be responsible for effective financial and legal activities of the UK team. 

• This role is for someone living in the UK. 
• The job is remote (working from home) with staff meetings in person every few months. Hours can be flexible.
• The initial contract is 12 months, but can be extended upon review.
• Salary is in the range of £26k-£27k (pro rata).

ABOUT MIDDLE EAST MEDIA: We are a Christian organisation producing media and empowering other content creators to move the people of the Middle East towards faith in Jesus Christ. Together with our teams and supporters, we’re using creative media to reach those who need it most—especially in places where sharing the message of Jesus is challenging.

Key Responsibilities

1.Regular Reporting

• Forecast and create monthly cash flow as requested. 
• Report on cash reserve levels with reference to the reserves policy.
• Produce timely and accurate management and financial accounts information, as requested by the Director or Trustees each month, with full explanation on significant areas and variances from budgets, using accrual accounting methods.
• Prepare and send quarterly & yearly reports to the financial team of the International Board.
• Produce other reports and recommendations as appropriate or requested. 

2.Budgets

• Help to generate annual budgets. 
• Work with staff and Treasurer to identify risks & opportunities to help deliver within the budgets. 
• Facilitate financial support and guidance to budget holders.

3.Audit and Year End

• Prepare the information for statutory annual accounts for the auditors.
• Liaise with external auditors or equivalent, as needed.
• Submit annual returns to the Charity Commission on time. 

4.Controls, Procedures, Systems

• Ensure accounting process remains compliant with the appropriate Charities SORP (Statement of Recommended Practice).
• Manage the annual report process to ensure a quality annual report is produced with an accurate and dynamic reflection on the year that the report refers to.
• Provide support in reviewing, monitoring and developing an appropriate and effective financial framework (policies, regulations, procedures and controls) that are in line with MEM’s strategy and values.
• Ensure financial processes and policies are up to date, communicated to and understood by the staff team and the Trustees. Ensure they are also in line with any regulatory requirements.
• Ensure appropriate risk management techniques and financial controls are embedded throughout the charity at strategic and operational levels. 

5.Donor Support

• Deal with any donor queries that come by email.
• Maintain up-to-date records of donors, field staff and other contacts in the MEM’s database. 
• Support the team with gift acknowledgements.
• Set up standing orders and keep records. 
• Process and record completed Gift Aid declarations, and regularly submit Gift Aid reclaims to HMRC.

6.Financial Administration

• Input all financial data (income and expenditure) into organisation’s CRM, accounting and other relevant software.
• Prepare and follow up suppliers’ invoices for payment. 
• Make payments for all authorised invoices.
• Process expense claims and make payments. 
• Manage the banking of income (cheques and cash). 
• Schedule transfer of funds to the field on a regular basis, making sure the transfer statements have the right codes. 
• Act as one of the signatories for the bank accounts making amendments, payments and being a first point of communication with bank as required. 
• Liaise directly with the outsourced payroll provider. Prepare, submit and issue P11Ds and ensure appropriate payment. 
• Manage pension details and ensure contributions for all staff are made on time.

7.Other Duties

• Provide support during the recruitment process.
• Collate staff timesheets, keep track of holiday and staff sickness in line with MEM policies.
• Prepare and check monthly payroll details before sending to the payroll provider, including sickness reporting etc.
• Manage incoming post and liaise with Mailbox administration (mail will be forwarded to your address).
• Be the primary contact with the Charity Commission.
• Determine the insurance needs and negotiate suitable policies on a timely basis.
• Contribute to the general operation and activities of MEM’s UK team, attending meetings as required, sharing knowledge and expertise.

The Role

The majority of work is processing income to the HTB Group but a portion is dedicated to expenditure processing, giving the job holder valuable experience in both areas.

• Raising invoices, credit notes for all entities across HTB Group

Tearfund is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel specialising in risk management to join our highly skilled Legal & Risk team.

This critical role combines legal expertise with strategic risk assessment to protect and manage risk in a complex global organisation. You'll work collaboratively and proactively with colleagues across the organisation to deliver agile and responsive organisational risk management that facilitates the achievement of our strategic objectives. This will involve engaging risk owners to support their analysis and reporting of risks and notifiable incidents to senior management. 

You will be a qualified lawyer with around 3 years of post-qualification experience, with experience of advising on risk.

Want to help reimagine youth work for a new generation? The Bridge Youth Project, in partnership with St Paul’s Church, is creating a brand-new role — Third Space Youth Lead — to develop meaningful, faith-rooted connections with young people outside the classroom. You’ll pioneer creative, relational, community-based youth engagement that brings Christian hope and presence into the everyday spaces young people inhabit.

Across Salisbury’s schools, something sacred is unfolding. Through the ministry of chaplaincy, young people are not only encountering the Christian story—they’re engaging with it. There is a growing openness, a hunger to go deeper, and in some, a readiness to own and articulate faith. Yet for many, those germinating seeds have nowhere to grow. There’s no natural community to nurture belief, no clear bridge between their experience in school and a life of ongoing discipleship. The result? What should be a comma, sadly becomes a full stop.

This role exists to change that.

The Third Space Youth Lead is a unique partnership between The Bridge Youth Project and St Paul’s Church, Salisbury, bringing together two missional contexts with one unified purpose: to help young people move from curiosity to commitment, and from early encounters with faith into meaningful, sustained discipleship.

Half of this role is embedded at St Paul’s, leading a vibrant and growing youth ministry for young people aged 11–18, offering regular gatherings, discipleship pathways, mentoring, and opportunities for leadership. The other half leads our new Third Space ministry, working in close collaboration with Bridge Chaplains to create invitational, community-rooted spaces beyond school and church walls, spaces where young people can belong, explore, and grow in their faith journey.

This is more than running a youth group. It’s about shaping a new paradigm, where school-based chaplaincy, church-based discipleship, and community-rooted mission meet. It’s about crafting a culture that reflects the full journey of faith: from fun and connection, to invitational exploration, to life-changing commitment to Jesus.

We are looking for a Maintenance Officer to join the Estates team to deliver a range of day-to-day tasks and programmed maintenance jobs at all sites.

The Role

You will oversee specialist maintenance companies, which provide a range of services throughout the year, whilst monitoring their performance and health and safety while on site. You will also monitor and record day-to-day safety in the workplace, paying particular attention to portable appliance testing and safety, slip and trip hazards and fire risks.

Within this role you will mainly work at the Swindon office, but you will need to travel to the other offices (London and Bala) as required. Normally you would need to travel to the London office one day a month and two days bi-monthly to the Bala office.

About You

We are looking for someone with the ability to travel to all other sites, with an eye for details and good problem solving skills.

You will have good working knowledge of general maintenance including:

• Health and Safety in the Workplace including Manual Handling COSHH, LOLER, PUWER and related codes of practice
• Security procedures and ability to take responsibility as a key holder of the Swindon office and staying calm under pressure
• Utilities and ability to safely operate electricity, gas, water systems, plant and equipment
• DIY, including, grounds maintenance, machinery, carpentry, painting and decorating. Very competent in safely using tools associated with this work

You will have experience of identifying and fixing minor defects e.g. dents in walls and leaking taps etc and the ability to develop skills appropriate to the role (e.g. PAT testing certification, PA operation etc.)

Ideally, you will be trained to use a forklift or have the ability to use one and have been trained in manual handling.

Our Lay Worker will work in partnership with clergy and lay volunteers to meet the spiritual needs of older people in Colchester and the surrounding areas,  including those whose independence and/or social engagement are challenged, owing to their advancing years, by:

• Offering spiritual support to older people who are living at home, in care homes and sheltered housing complexes; their relatives; and staff who look after them.
• Promoting the spiritual welfare of older people at home, in the Church and in the wider community.

The role will include working with existing groups within the church and in the local community, in addition to identifying new opportunities for work and outreach.

The post is home based, travelling extensively across the area.

St James’s Church seeks an energetic and dedicated individual to launch a new Changemaker Programme, for which seed funding has been secured. The idea behind the programme is that creative leadership is urgently needed in society today; and a matter for the soul too. The invitation is to be part of the change that such leadership can bring. The vision is that by 2035, 50 changemakers, aged between 22-34, will be innovating, inspiring, and creating other changemakers in society, rooted in the character, values and vision of St James’s Piccadilly. It is not growing church leaders but leaders in society, intentionally bringing together young leaders from its five programme strands: Social Justice, Arts and Heritage, Music, Environment, Business.

The Director role has responsibility for the promotion, implementation, sustainability of, and reporting for the Changemakers programme. The essential requirements are leadership of an organisation with an education, charitable or community setting; ideally to have extensive operational programme and line management experience within the education or charitable sector; evidence of strategic thinking and business planning; evidence of delivering and or managing the delivery of events.

Help us make churches more Single Friendly!

Single Friendly Church Network is a young charity which encourages churches to welcome and value single people at every stage of life and of all types of singleness. Our work and influence are growing across a wide range of denominations. We want to reach more churches across the UK who could benefit from our resources and training, with the vision that all single Christians will be able to find a welcoming Single Friendly Church in their local area where they can flourish.

We achieved charitable status in 2023 (before that we were a Community Interest Company) and have a newly refined purpose and identity set out in a new website and other digital media (including in our promotional film ‘Inspiring Change’ available on YouTube). We have developed ‘5 Steps‘ towards becoming a Single Friendly Church.

We now aim to expand our impact across the UK and deepen our engagement with churches from a wide range of Christian denominations, in accordance with our strategy.

After 3 years our existing Executive Director is stepping down from the role and we are seeking a new person to take the next steps forward.

The role

• Leading a review of the Charity’s operational strategy in accordance with our agreed Mission and identity
• Setting operational objectives and targets for the team in accordance with Board directives
• Leading the Fundraising initiatives of the charity and developing productive relationships with funders
• Developing impact measures for internal monitoring and to evidence our work to funders
• Managing the team (including one-to-one meetings, setting targets and annual reviews)
• Working with the Board of Trustees and managing Board meetings, producing necessary documentation
• Building networks with churches, Christian groups, key influencers and a visible presence
• Delivering webinars and presenting at speaking engagements
• Keeping aware of issues around singleness and other relevant Christian topics
• Managing governance for the CIO
• Oversee budgeting and finance functions

Skills

• Experience of leading an organisation or campaign
• An understanding of Christian culture and the different Christian traditions
• Able to provide evidence of positive interaction with Christians from different traditions
• Good experience of working with and inspiring a small team
• Evidence of significant achievements in fundraising

The successful applicant does not have to be single – but does need to show awareness and understanding of the challenges facing single people in both Church and Society as a whole.

Terms

There is an office in central London. We are looking for someone who can commit up to 3 days per week on average, on a freelance basis. The successful candidate would likely be in the office one day a week. The hourly rate offered would be between £35 and £45 depending on experience.
