Oakview is a supported living project for 10 customers with mild to moderate learning disabilities. It provides a 24/7 support service, with an emphasis on choice and control for customers, enabling them to achieve greater independence, improved quality of life and integration into the wider community. Support Workers will provide support to customers to help them develop the life skills they require to meet the assessed needs of the customers of the service. This includes providing personal care, domestic duties, emotional and social support in a person-centred way. Staff will work with customers to promote social inclusion and alongside other members of the team to promote independent living, encouraging customers to maximise their skills and choices.
The service is staffed 24/7 and this post-holder will be required to cover an average of at least one sleep-in per week (pro rata).
What you'll do:
- If a need arises, deliver all aspects of support to enable a customer to develop independent living skills as appropriate to the individual needs of the customer. This includes delivering personal and physical care as appropriate;
- Support customers to undertake all domestic tasks wherever possible, including practical assistance where they have not yet developed the skills, to ensure customers enjoy a high quality of accommodation;
- Participate in support planning and risk management, of named customers, as directed by the service management;
- Ensure the safety and security of the customers and the premises whilst on shift;
- Enable customers to make full use of community facilities by providing support that enables maximum external engagement;
- Report any observations relating to customers welfare
- Adhere to all the policies and procedures of Look Ahead Care, Support & Housing plus those specific to the project including any statutory requirements
- Ensure Look Ahead Health and Safety policies and local protocols are adhered to, at all times;
- Maintain records as required at the project under the direction of management;
- Participate in handovers, team meetings/reviews and the general development of the service;
- Undertake any other duties consistent with the grade and nature of the post as may be reasonably assigned.

The Fundraising Department at The Forward Trust plays a crucial role in supporting our mission to empower individuals to break the cycles of addiction, crime, homelessness and unemployment. Our team is dedicated to securing vital funds, generating around £2million per year, through various channels, including grants, events, corporate partnerships, and individual donations. Role Responsibilities An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Fundraising Team to help grow and maximise income from trusts and foundations and other grant giving organisations. As an integral part of the team, you will identify, engage, and approach new grant giving organisations as well as maintain and strengthen relationships with existing supporters to secure funding for our life changing and life-saving services across prisons and communities in the UK. Over the last two years, we have been working hard to lay the foundations to be able to engage and secure more supporters and advocates for the organisation, enabling us to increase the amount of charitable income we secure. With a new strategy, team structure and customer relationship systemin place, it is a great time to be joining a passionate, fun, and target-driven team within a motivating and inspirational environment. You will be working as part of a team of 10 and the role is fully remote with expectation to travel to Vauxhall once per month. You will also be expected to have the flexibility to attend events and be able and willing to travel to the services in the organisation and supporting fundraising events. Please not you will need at least 1 years' experience of trust and grant fundraising. As a result, we have been awarded contracts to deliver Personal Wellbeing Services for North and South Wales. These services will involve a range of support to community offenders and prison leavers including families, emotional wellbeing, lifestyle and associates and social inclusion (including meet at the gates).
About this exciting opportunity
Working as part of a multi-agency team, you will provide person-centred support to a caseload of service users who will either be serving community sentences or being released from prison. You will undertake assessment and action planning with individual service users, create a safe and trusting environment, using trauma-informed practice to successfully facilitate a supportive and constructive relationship with service users, plus deliver a range of interventions to service users which contribute towards achievement of prescribed outcomes.
We will also count on you to develop and maintain positive working relationships with external agencies, including probation, prisons, partners, and others who will assist in achieving prescribed outcomes for service users, ensuring you work towards contractual targets and outcomes within agreed timescales. Using agreed CRM databases and recording all activity relating to caseload and providing updates and reports are also key duties.
What we are looking for
- Experience working with partner agencies either as part of a multi-agency team working towards common objectives or negotiating to establish links to further the aims of a project
- L3 in Advice and Guidance or equivalent (desirable)
- The ability to assess clients’ needs and provide tailored, client-led support through action planning and interventions involving advice, guidance, advocacy, and coaching
- An ability to work sensitively with clients applying trauma-informed strategies
- Impressive IT, relationship-building and communication skills, both verbal and written.

Do you want to make a difference to the lives of students and equip them to put their faith into action?
SCM is looking for a recent graduate to spend a year working with us to help us to continue to build on the work of our successful Faith in Action project.
Run in partnership with Project Bonhoeffer, a small charitable trust, the project began in 2012 with a vision that Christian students in Britain would have a greater awareness and understanding of Bonhoeffer’s radical approach to faith and discipleship, and its implications for Christian living in the modern world.
The project has helped to run over a dozen campaigns from Food Poverty to Peace, and had an immeasurable impact on thousands of students through blogs, resources, and relationships. All of this is bringing to light many ‘Bonhoeffers’ of today negotiating the implications on Christian living in the world.
In 2021 we developed the Faith in Action project as a graduate scheme by employing two graduates to work on the project; one to lead on theology bringing a depth of learning and theological refection, and the other to be a campaigns lead, taking us always back out into the world to make a difference.
The project has been very successful, and now we are looking to grow it for further. We are looking for a passionate graduate to join the project for the 2025-26 academic year.
In this role, you will be a theologian to make other theologians, and will provide the framework for students to be able to reflect theologically on their life and modern Christian Living. You will be responsible for growing the breadth of SCM’s Faith in Action resources, and discovering new ways of connecting with the current membership via the trends of social media or engaging in face-to-face reflections. An activist to make other activists, you will coordinate social action for SCM, engaging the membership in social justice projects that maximise our impact in society and the world.
You will work to build relationships between SCM communities and members to equip students with the skills they need to become faith-filled agents of social and political change and lead them in theological reflection to discern their involvement in local and national campaigns. You will also work to develop relationships with other Christian social justice and campaigning organisations to create opportunities for students to put their faith into action. In all of this, you will be supported by our small but perfectly-formed team, who will share your values and fully understand your aims in this project.
The role will require some travel within Britain, as well as semi-regular visits to the office in Birmingham, which may also include an overnight stay. All reasonable expenses for travel and accommodation will be reimbursed. Some evening and weekend work may be required for which time off in lieu will be given.
