Knowsley Carers Centre is a growing charity, established in ~October 1997 to support the borough's 16000 unpaid/family carers.
A highly motivated and experienced person is required to prove welfare benefits advice to unpaid carers.
Proven experience of the sector and an understanding of unpaid carers’ issues are essential along with the ability to work independently.
Location: Predominantly based in Kirkby but will be part of the team at Knowsley Carers Centre and will be expected to spend some time at other venues across Knowsley.
Job Purpose: To find and assist Carers and Young Carers Families in Knowsley by providing welfare benefits advice, accessible information through advice and support, drop-in sessions, home visiting and a variety of other methods highlighted by Carers in Knowsley.
Duties and Responsibilities
Welfare Benefits
1)Provide casework covering the full range of welfare benefits.
2)Act for the client where necessary by calculating, negotiating, drafting or writing letters and telephoning.
3)Negotiate with third parties as appropriate.
4)Ensure income maximisation through the take up of appropriate benefits.
5)Assist clients with other related problems where they are an integral part of their case and refer to other advisers or specialist agencies as appropriate.
6)Make home/outreach visits as necessary.
7)Provide advice and assistance to other staff across the whole range of issues.
8)Maintain case records for the purpose of continuity of casework, information retrieval, statistical monitoring and report preparation.
9)Ensure that all work conforms to the organisations systems and procedures.
10)Keep up to date with legislation.
11)Attend relevant internal and external meetings.
12)Use IT for statistical recording and record keeping
13)Maintain close liaison with relevant external organisations
Information and Support
1) Identify hidden Carers and provide them with high quality information, advice and support. This will include:
a)Answering enquiries about available services, and other organisations of interest to Carers
b)Sending Carers appropriate leaflets and application forms.
c)Referring Carers for carers’ assessment
d)Providing an empathetic and supportive ear to Carers about the difficulties they may be experiencing.
e)To signpost carers to relevant voluntary and statutory organisations.
2) Keep up-to-date with services, and organisations relevant to Carers.
3) To promote the work of the organisation by use of media, talks, presentations, displays etc.
4) Make links with relevant statutory and voluntary organisations.
Casework/Individual Support
1) Work on behalf of Carers both by phone and in writing to help them to obtain the services they need.
2) Attend meetings, case conferences, complaints procedures etc. as necessary to support individual Carers.
3) Make home-visits as necessary to carry out this aspect of the work and initial support to new carers via home visit.
4) Liaise with other advice/advocacy organisations to develop and maintain referral systems.
Administration and Monitoring
1) Produce statistics and other monitoring reports to the management
2) To be primarily self-servicing including word processing letters, keeping appropriate records of work undertaken, write reports and complete monitoring forms.
3) To enter information on to the database.
General Tasks
1) To work as part of a team contributing to the smooth and effective running of Knowsley Carers Centre.
3) To produce articles for the Carers Centre newsletter and to distribute
to establishments around Knowsley.
4) To attend and actively participate in regular supervision, team meetings and annual appraisal sessions.
5) To undertake relevant training and staff development activities as required.
6) To undertake occasional evening/weekend work where necessary.
7) To undertake any other duties as reasonably requested by the Centre Manager.

Essex & Herts Air Ambulance, unlike NHS emergency services, is a charity. This free life-saving service is provided 24/7 by helicopters and rapid response vehicles.
Each critical care team consists of a pilot and co-pilot, a pre-hospital care doctor and a critical care paramedic.
They can be rushed to the scene with life-saving support equipment to deliver advanced clinical care, usually only in the hospital emergency department.
Once stabilised, the patient will be conveyed to the most appropriate hospital by air or land.

Role Description
As Volunteer Programmes Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing the successful delivery of projects in the Decorate A Child's Life (DACL) and Adventure Play Partnership (APP) volunteering programmes. Your role will include managing the day-to-day operations for Volunteer Programmes, oversight of programme coordination, reviewing and updating procedures on a rolling basis and keeping good records, including financial monitoring and collecting impact data for regular reporting. This role may at times include attending site visits to scope projects, and leading and supervising groups of volunteers during project installations.
You will work closely with fundraising colleagues to match partners/corporate volunteer groups to projects, and from time to time you’ll contribute to scoping new opportunities to adapt our offer for potential partnership pitches. Our Corporate Partnerships Manager will be a key colleague, as you’ll work together to plan and organise volunteering opportunities and to plan and implement a high-quality volunteer experience that ultimately helps the charity to secure income generation corporate partnerships. You’ll need to take a lead role in monitoring and reporting on progress, including the expenditure budget for project delivery, the level of delivery and the capturing of feedback from both beneficiaries and volunteers.

About the role
This role will provide financial and operational leadership and management for CCLC particularly focussed on the Legal Practice Unit and the Migrant Children’s Project but with support for the Child Law Advice Service and Coram International where required. Managing a small finance team, the role will hold primary responsibility for core financial functions within CCLC including legal aid billing and management and tracking of grant and other charitable funding. Through systematic and efficient financial management, the post holder will play a pivotal role in CCLC’s financial sustainability. The role will act as a key point of contact with Coram’s central finance team and a range of internal and external stakeholders on financial matters.
The role will also oversee the smooth running of the London and Colchester offices through line management of operations and administrative staff.
The role would suit a high organised and efficient business support professional with experience of financial management within the legal or charity sector. In particular, candidates with experience of legal billing and more specifically, civil legal aid billing, would be welcomed.
This is a largely office-based role in order to fully provide support to the finance and operations team. However, some remote / hybrid working may be possible depending the experience of the candidate after the initial settling in period (to be negotiated with the successful candidate).The finance team are split between the London and Colchester offices and the post holder should expect some travel to both locations. The large majority of the legal and policy team are based in London and as such regular (at least twice weekly) presence in our London office will be expected. However, on other days the candidate could be based in the London or Colchester office.
Whilst this is a full-time position, we will consider requests for part-time working (28 hours per week minimum) and we will endeavour to offer some flexibility with days and hours to be agreed.

The ACNS is a key senior role within the Nursing team, acting as the clinical specialist lead and overseeing the community nursing service for a defined area on a rotation basis (non-clinical).
Working with an integrated team of nurses, you will contribute to the overall care of patient and families referred to St Giles within the community setting.
As a team member, you will contribute to a positive supportive working environment with an emphasis on team work and cooperation. You will participate in a rota system providing a 7 day a week, face to face and telephone service for patients and their families and, in the out of hours rota, providing telephone advice and support. This may include visiting out of hours in exceptional circumstances.

How you will make a difference
The main purpose of the Estates Repairs & Maintenance Manager role is to manage and oversee effective property repairs, maintenance and improvement works across the property portfolio and ensure that it remains legally compliant. This includes properties where the responsibility for repairs and maintenance is that of the Charity and equally of other parties such as landlords and housing associations. The role will include managing existing external contractor relationships and housing association repairs and maintenance performance, as well as introducing new supplier contracts where required according to the wider needs of the charity. The Educational Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP) Programme is a one-year postgraduate diploma course which is part of the child mental health workforce development programme. For this role is it essential you have excellent understanding of domestic abuse, including the impact on victims and their children. Experience of group work delivery is desirable; however, we will consider applications from candidates who demonstrate an aptitude for the role.
You will need to be able to build and maintain effective working relationships with statutory and voluntary agencies to deliver the best possible outcomes within a multi-agency setting. As well as being tenacious in support of your clients and adept at problem solving.
