We are now seeking a proactive and purposeful leader, as our new Deputy Director, Funding Strategy.

In this role you will oversee our core funding strategy capability, ensuring The Fund stays ahead of change and remains at the leading edge of grantmaking practice. You would lead a multidisciplinary team working across our UK-wide organisation. Teams within your responsibility would include Funding Strategy Development, Funding Policy and Practice, Equity Diversity and Inclusion and Youth Voice. 

This is a crucial leadership appointment – you will be part of the Funding Strategy, Innovation and UK directorate leadership team, driving the ongoing development of funding strategy, policies and ways of working. You will have holistic oversight of funding strategy from inception to decision by executive and non-executive committees, and drive through into embedded practice.

We are looking for an engaging candidate, who can provide clear leadership to this vital brief. You will be responsible for representing the Fund, developing excellent relationships with senior level external stakeholders as well as actively engaging with and building constructive relationships with senior level colleagues across the Senior Management Team and all Directorates.  You will take the lead in understanding our progress in delivering funding strategy across a devolved context, identifying gaps and opportunities to go further in the delivery of our ambitions

This post is critical for the development and improvement of our overall funding strategy, driving the flow through into practice and working across the Fund to realise the ambitions we have set out.We are looking for a candidate to promote a culture of experimentation, and collaboration that supports our priorities around equity, environmental sustainability, and community power and evolve our funding policies and practice —making them more open, insight-driven, and transformative.

As Head of Mass Engagement you will:

• Lead the team to deliver integrated tactical strategies across mass participation, community fundraising and individual giving to drive income growth and deeper engagement with these audiences. 
• Work closely with the Associate Director of Mass Engagement to ensure mass fundraising activity is aligned to broader organisational campaigns, strategy and digital mobilisation.
• Oversee and deliver strategies across all public fundraising channels (participation events, community, individual giving, supporter care), ensuring brand alignment and driving deeper supporter engagement. 
• Take ownership of the development and implementation of supporter journeys across all mass engagement channels.
• Work closely with colleagues/peers in communications, digital, brand and relationship fundraising to ensure activities are truly integrated and aligned.

The role would best suit:

• An experienced public fundraising leader with a demonstrable expertise across individual giving, community fundraising and participation events. 
• A strategic and creative mind, with the ability to lead operational delivery across a multi disciplinary team. 
• Someone with demonstrated success of driving income growth with a focus on supporter retention. 
• A skilled and confident people manager, driving an inclusive and empowering culture to develop direct reports and the wider team.

Role Summary

The Finance Officer will support the Finance and Operations team and regional teams with key areas of responsibility around financial administration and general office and governance administration tasks.

Role and responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

Financial Administration - (95% of role):

Supporting the Finance team with

o Day-to-day financial administration

o Bookkeeping on Xero, raising invoices, chasing debtors, dealing with supplier statements

o Ensuring correct VAT categorisations.

o Tracking expenditure on Xero in accordance with funder requirements

o Processing monthly expenses and petty cash claims

o Responsible for preparation of the weekly payment run (approval max and Xero)

o Day-to-day financial administration

o Banking of cheques

o Managing control accounts for CAF, Charities trust, and Justgiving

o Managing shopify, worldpay, stripe, paypal and other payment processing platforms

o Organising card machines for events

Some tasks listed below are less frequent and ad-hoc.

o Opening post and electronic filing

o Weekly franking of post, topping up funds when required and taking post to nearby post office

Prospectus is delighted to be working with our client to recruit a part-time Office Manager to join its small but busy team based in lovely offices in Chelsea, London SW3. This role will work the equivalent of 3.5 days per week worked over 4 or 5 days.
 
The role
This role will work closely with the Director and the Schools Programme Manager to provide broad and comprehensive administrative and coordination support to the overall running of this established and highly regarded Family Foundation. This will include ensuring existing systems and processes are adhered to and updated where necessary, grantees are dealt with promptly, cordially and professionally and the running of the office is efficient and smooth.
 
The role will be responsible for coordinating financial processes, grants administration, office and facilities coordination and executive support to the CEO in addition to arranging high level trustee meetings and wider administrative tasks as they arise. This role will also manage key relationships with contractors who offer external support such as Finance and Website development, in addition to responding to enquiries from existing and potential grantees, advising on process, eligibility criteria and application cycles.
 
The person
The successful candidate will have substantial Office Management experience with broad and wide-ranging coordination skills spanning office and financial systems management,  stakeholder engagement, customer service, process management and facilities support.
 
This experience would ideally be in the charity, Nfp or statutory sectors or could just as easily have been gained in the corporate sector, and will compliment the work of the foundation. Busy office based experience where thorough and highly organised processes and procedures have been crucial to success. Helpful and friendly but firm, fair and confident, this person will have an excellent eye for detail, will be a great communicator, both verbally and in writing and will have a solutions driven approach.
 
Approachable by nature, this person will also be highly numerate, organised and efficient with strong IT skills and the ability to navigate databases and all standard MS Office packages to a competent level. This person will have experience of organising and facilitating high level meetings (for example trustees or senior leadership team) and capable of preparing papers and following up actions to ensure objectives are met and ambitions are achieved. Explicit Board & Committee servicing experience will be very advantageous.

The Policy and Campaigns Officer will develop policy positions and campaigns that will help ensure that the needs, rights and priorities of those living with DMD are understood and acted on by decision makers, policy makers, parliament and government. The Officer will work closely with colleagues in the Policy and Communications team to support a cohesive and impactful approach to policy, engagement and communications.

Job Description

• To ensure that the charity’s policy and campaigning work is firmly grounded in the views and experiences of the DMD community and to ensure that they are consulted and involved in the development (and delivery where appropriate) of Duchenne UK’s policy positions and campaigns.
• To maximise the benefits of our existing relationships with civil servants, parliamentarians, policy makers, relevant organisations (such as NICE) and charity sector professionals and to create new relationships which help us to achieve our aims.

• To devise low-budget campaigns aimed at creating positive change in policy, practice or attitudes that will improve the lives and outcomes of those living with DMD.

Person Specification

Essential experience:

• Experience of working in a policy and/or campaigning role.
• Experience of writing for a range of audiences and using different channels to produce convincing, clear and succinct content across a range of platforms such as blogs, web and print.

• Experience of using digital and social media for influencing and campaigning purposes.

Desirable experience:

The Vacancy

The Independent Monitoring Service is seeking to recruit professionals with experience of working with children and vulnerable adults to the role of Independent Visitor.

We are looking for individuals all across Yorkshire, including but not limitted to: Hull, Sheffield, Rotherham, Leeds, Bradford. 

The role of Independent Visitors is to provide visiting services on behalf of NYAS which are consistent with the National Quality Standards for Children’s Homes, Residential Special School Standards, Welsh National Minimum Standards, Health and Social Care Standards Scotland and CQC regulations. The main duties are:

• To undertake monthly visits to identified homes in accordance with the requirements of the relevant NYAS manager.

These visits will be:

Regulation 44 visits to residential children’s homes, short breaks and secure units.

Regulation 25 visits to residential family centres.

Care Quality Commission visits to residential adult homes.

Care Inspectorate Wales regulation 8 visits to residential children’s homes.

RSS20 visits to residential special schools.

Health and social care standards Scotland residential children’s homes.

Monitoring visits to unregulated provision.

• To undertake all tasks as identified by the relevant NYAS manager, during the visits and thereafter, in order to fulfil all aspects of the role.
• To provide factual reports within set timescales as required by the relevant NYAS manager.

Candidates should have demonstrable knowledge and understanding of regulated services and their inspection frameworks and also knowledge of current legislation and statutory guidance relating to children, young people and adults at risk particularly those in residential care.

Candidates must have experience of working within a social or health care organisation, safeguarding and experience of managing complex relationships across a diverse field, e.g. OFSTED inspectors, social workers, residential care workers and registered managers, health care professionals.

Candidates should also possess a professional qualification in a related field, i.e. social work, residential care, health care professional, advocacy or youth work.

This is a self-employed position and you will be paid a sessional rate.

You will also be required to complete annual safeguarding and compliance including, Personal Safety, Data Protection, Information Security, Safeguarding and Equality and Diversity. You will be able to subscribe to an e-learning platform provided by NYAS. The platform will provide you with the opportunity to undertake a number of other professional courses that you can complete in your own time to maintain your own CPD. You can do this on the e-learning platform at a significantly reduced cost compared to undertaking each course individually with different providers.

The Policy and Public Affairs Manager will work as part of a small policy team, with colleagues across the organisation, and internal and external stakeholders, to help shape Government policy on a range of issues relating to literacy and disadvantage.

Key responsibilities

* Monitor and analyse developments in public policy and manage public affairs activity in line with our organisational strategy
* Write succinct and influential reports, consultation responses, briefings, articles and web pages on policy issues for a range of audiences
* Organise policy-focused events including managing invite lists, event logistics and related communications and messaging, working with the media team where necessary
* Build and maintain relationships with Parliamentarians, policymakers, and partner organisations to influence literacy policy.
* Coordinate the activity of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Literacy, including engaging politicians and policymakers, organising meetings, maintaining appropriate paperwork and drafting policy briefings

What we're looking for

The NLT team are passionate about their mission and have a strong and positive working culture, based on shared values and respect. This role is primarily home-based, but you will need to be able to attend the office in London (Vauxhall) at least 2-3 times a month and be willing and able to attend meetings, events and briefings in London on a regular basis. Travel to and from London is not covered by expenses, therefore you will need to be based within easy access to London.

We’re looking for a Lead Service Designer to help shape how Capacity embeds user-centred and co-production approaches across our work. This is a senior design role in our Public Sector Innovation team, with a remit that is both internal (building Capacity’s design practice, tools, and standards) and external (leading service design on projects with partners, including local authorities and communities). You’ll be the design lead and representing the Head of Public Sector Innovation's design direction in projects, ensuring our projects embed inclusive, agile, and user-centred methods. You’ll oversee the design direction day-to-day, assure quality across multiple workstreams, and mentor others, helping us grow a sustainable design capability inside Capacity.

To be successful you will:

• Communicate design strategy effectively across teams and organisations
• Have expertise in user-centred and co- production methods
• Significant experience as a service designer, including leading design in complex public services or social innovation
• Have the ability to develop close and trusting relationships with public and third sector leaders and other key partners
• Have experience of capability building, training or mentoring others in design or agile methods.
