Community Engagement Officer (part-time/2 or 3 days per week – fixed term contract of 12 months) for a small, growing community organisation based in East London.

The Southeast and East Asian Centre CIC (SEEAC) is a non-profit organisation registered as a community interest company that provides community-based support to members of the East and Southeast Asian (ESEA) communities, especially those underrepresented and marginalised migrants and refugees in the UK. Our website. This is a part-time role to lead SEEAC’s engagement with the East and Southeast Asian Communities. The Community Engagement Officer is responsible for reaching out, building and maintaining a solid network with community members, identifying and understanding communities’ needs, liaising and coordinating with other stakeholders who can provide relevant support and assistance, and supporting the development of communication materials for the communities. The post holder will work closely with members of the SEEAC staff team, volunteers and partners in organising and promoting community activities and disseminating information to the community members and relevant stakeholders.

To be considered for this role, you must have 2 or more years of demonstrated professional experience working in a community setting or a non-profit organisation involving social justice issues (as an employee or a volunteer) and strong organisational and administrative skills. We expect you to demonstrate proven ability to organise events and activities. You also need to have a strong sense of responsibility and commitment to safeguarding, data protection and confidentiality, as well as a good understanding of project planning and budgeting. You must be able to communicate fluently in English and, preferably with a command of at least one of ESEA languages. It would be beneficial if you have previously worked as part of a diverse team and have exceptional interpersonal skills, capable of quickly establishing good relationships to respond sensitively and confidentially to all stakeholders. We would also prefer you to have experience of working directly with ESEA communities or other minoritised, racialised or migrant communities and/or have good knowledge of ESEA cultures. Those with lived experience of the issues faced by migrants, refugees and people seeking asylum and/or their family members are encouraged to apply.

You will report to the Programme Manager and collaborate with all members of the staff. At times, you will liaise and collaborate with SEEAC’s stakeholders, such as volunteers and partner organisations, to design and convene activities that effectively support communities’ needs.

Flexible homework is offered in a hybrid setting, with in-person work based at the SEEAC office in East London. To create a better collaboration with other staff members and communities, SEEAC, however, require all staff members to work in the office or on-site occasionally as required. Depending on activities and event planned, the post requires occasional work in the evening and during weekends within contracted hours. Opportunities for skills development training are offered. This is a 12-month fixedterm contract, on a part-time of 3 or 2-days/week part-time (0.6 or 0.4 FTE) basis, for a January 2026 start. SEEAC’s full-time is 5 days per week (35hrs per week). Job Purpose 

To support the manager and deliver on the home and settle services across two hospitals, supporting the wider team, and provide leadership when necessary. You will work in collaboration with AUKEL, the hospitals, and other community health and social care colleagues.

The service supports people returning home after a stay in hospital, helping them to settle back at home, regain confidence and support with some practical tasks, e.g. shopping/cleaning.  You will manage referrals, carry out assessments, and with the Manager, allocate service users to Discharge and Settle Worker caseloads. You will provide direct frontline support and co-ordinate visits to the service users’ home in preparation for their return home, as necessary. You will work collaboratively to lead and manage your team to support the smooth transition from hospital to home for service users.  The service is time limited, usually up to 6 weeks, to adjust and settle back in their homes.

Key Tasks 

• Act as the first point of contact for all referrals across the hospital they are attached to. 

• Meet with patients in the community and/or hospital and carrying out assessments and risk assessments

• Enter referrals on to AUKEL’s case management system (currently Charity Log) in accordance with GDPR guidelines. 

• Allocate referrals to Discharge and Settle workers using tech available (currently the Call Round App), training will be available. 

• Collecting feedback from service users and uploading to case management system. 

• Prepare and keep stock of AUKEL Welcome Packs and service leaflets. 

• Deputise for the Manger at discharge planning and other meetings as directed. 

• Support the hospital to improve the patient’s experience of the discharge process 

• Monitor the case loads of each of the Discharge and Settle workers (DSW) to ensure they are evenly and fairly balanced. 

• Work collaboratively with other agencies providing support services. 

• Work with people with a range of needs, dealing with issues ranging from social isolation and keeping people engaged in their community, to preventing unnecessary admission to hospital. 

• Plan and develop person centred interventions to provide short term support for people after hospital discharge. 

• Deliver the front-line services as required e.g. when there is high demand, sickness or staff shortages. 

• Provide occasional weekend cover for the A/L of other Project Officers

• Work with people with a range of needs, dealing with issues ranging from social isolation and keeping people engaged in their community, to preventing unnecessary admission to hospital. 

• Supervise, support and develop DSWs and volunteers in your service. 

• Liaise with the handyperson service about referrals and jobs for service users. 

• Ensure DSW are resourced to sign post service users to other services when the home and settle service intervention ends. 

Administration 

• Keep AUKEL case management system up-to-date, input all data, and ensure all referrals, interventions, time spent with service users are recorded. 

• Allocate referrals to DSW using tech available (currently - Charity Log ‘Call Round’ App). 

• Ensure wards have good supply of service leaflets and referral forms. 

• Ensure data collected meets the requirements of the service’s contract monitoring and key performance indicators. 

• Ensure customer feedback questionnaires are sent at the end of each intervention and record returns. 

• Ensure admin tasks relating to service users, Discharge and Settle workers or general admin is carried out in a timely and efficient manner.

• Provide weekend cover as needed, i.e. annual leave and sickness, for the services you manage and other hospital settle services provided by AUKEL 

• Carry out monitoring of the service ensuring it meets the contractual requirements of commissioners.

About This Role

This is an exciting new opportunity to be part of a new project within our Wraparound Service in the UK. As Psychological Therapist, key aspects of your role will be:

• Facilitation of Reflective Practice for residential staff to help support therapeutically informed practice, staff resilience and emotional wellbeing.

  You’ll engage with Parliamentarians to raise awareness of British Heart Foundation (BHF) funded research in Westminster and in their individual constituencies, while proactively spotting opportunities to draw attention to the need to address the historic shortfall in cardiovascular research funding and how Government can do so.

  You’ll also support the delivery of a programme of activity and engagement that contributes to our wider Hearts Need More campaign, which aims to ensure cardiovascular disease remains a priority, from prevention through to cure.

  We’re looking for someone with an interest in and understanding of the UK’s political environment, with good insight into the workings of the UK Government and Westminster parliamentary procedure. You'll have an understanding of the role of BHF and other medical research charities in general, or a broader awareness of the UK’s research environment.

This exciting and high-profile role is responsible for leading on all operational HR & Facilities activity within the charity. Kingston University is seeking an exceptional individual to lead their major gifts programme as part of their ambitious Development, Alumni Relations and Engagement (DARE) team. With a global alumni community of over 270,000 and a bold three-year strategy in place, this is a unique opportunity to drive transformational giving and make a lasting impact on student success, research innovation, and community engagement.

About the Role
As Head of Major Gifts, you’ll lead a strategic fundraising programme to grow annual income from £450,000 to £1m+ over three years. You’ll manage a high-performing team, build a robust prospect pipeline, and personally steward a portfolio of high-net-worth donors. Reporting to the Director of DARE, you’ll work closely with senior university leadership to align fundraising with Kingston’s visionary Town House Strategy.

This is a high-impact leadership role where your expertise will elevate major and transformational giving, diversify income streams, and embed a culture of philanthropy across the University.

About You
You’re a motivated and entrepreneurial fundraising professional with:

• A proven track record of securing six-figure+ gifts
• Experience leading successful fundraising teams and programmes
• Outstanding relationship-building skills with senior stakeholders
• Strategic vision and the ability to align fundraising with institutional priorities
  
  Ideally, you’ll bring experience from the higher education or charitable sector and be passionate about the power of philanthropy to transform lives.
