We are now looking for a capable Finance Officer to to support the effective running of our financial operations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial processes.

• Managing the purchase and sales ledgers, including processing supplier invoices, preparing payment runs, raising sales invoices, and applying VAT as required

• Carrying out daily income and bank reconciliations, posting income to our CRM system (Salesforce), and monitoring Direct Debit payments

• Processing staff expenses and business credit card transactions, ensuring all costs are accurately allocated

• Supporting month-end tasks, including income reconciliations, credit notes, journal postings, and submitting Gift Aid claims to HMRC

• Preparing regular internal and external financial reports, including sponsorship and earmarked donation summaries for the International Office

• Assisting with the annual external audit and maintaining clear process documentation.

We are looking for an experienced finance professional, preferably with charity sector experience, who has strong leadership skills to lead the Finance function and play a key role in ensuring the Fund delivers excellent financial management. You will be responsible for the leadership of the Finance team and delivering financial expertise essential to the organisation’s ability to steward finances properly, make sound decisions, comply with regulations & standards and manage risk.

To be suitable for this role, you will be a qualified accountant with strong leadership, technical and people skills. You will have the experience to support a finance function that is motivated, adds value to the work of the Fund, and is strategically influential and important. You will be innovative and solutions focused, used to working in a collaborative, business partnering environment and able to nurture a high-performing team. Merton Winter Night Shelter provides a much-needed emergency shelter for the homeless during the coldest winter months. We offer a warm, safe and respectful place, with a welcoming environment, providing hot food and professional support to those who would otherwise be on street. We offer an opportunity for guests to rest, recharge and be supported into a more sustainable and stable lifestyle. 

We are seeking a part time Project Assistant to work with the Project Coordinator, who leads the project on a permanent basis. Min 6hrs over 3 evenings per week and occasional management meetings outside of the shelter. This would be initially shadowing the Project Coordinator at the different shelter venues and then independently and unsupervised attending venues supporting venue convenors and their volunteers. The hours will include weekends and bank holidays.

Purpose of Job:

· Supporting the Project Coordinator in managing and coordinating the Night Shelter to ensure that all venues give a consistent service to all homeless persons accepted into the shelter, i.e., its guests.

· Standing in for the Project Coordinator in supporting shelter convenors and their volunteers on two evenings per week after initial induction.

· Assisting the Project Coordinator in providing advice and support to help each guest work through the challenges they are facing, recognising that homelessness is often a result of complex and multiple problems.

Responsibilities:

In close consultation with the Project Coordinator to:

· Liaise with the Host Venue Co-ordinators to ensure timely communication and information, particularly in maintaining the Shelter Log Book, to enable the smooth running of the shelter.

· Support guests who are using services for welfare, legal, debt, housing and other specialist issues, where necessary.

· Engage with vulnerable people in a sensitive, empathetic and professional manner.

· To assist in maintaining detailed case records ensuring all sensitive data is adequately protected and handled.

Beacon is looking for a friendly and enthusiastic youth engagement worker to work as part of a small team to deliver our SHINE offer to young people. SHINE offers early intervention support to all 11-17 year old’s in Stockport to provide information, advice or guidance regarding their emotional wellbeing. It includes: 2 weekly wellbeing groups, a weekly arts group (delivered by Beacon’s partner), signposting and advice. SHINE develops skills to support emotional wellbeing, build resilience and confidence with weekly themes over 12 weeks.

You will be the main point of contact for young people and their families, providing information, advice, guidance and support to access services. You will work with colleagues and the young people to devise and cofacilitate group sessions which are fun, engaging and support young people to develop skills and improve wellbeing. You will liaise with our partner delivery organisation, and support the future development of the service. You will responsible for completing all administrative duties in relation to the service, including the collection of monitoring and feedback data.

The role is for 17.5 hours per week. The hours are to be agreed, but must include Tuesdays and Thursdays, 4pm to 7pm. The salary for this role is £26,481 per annum pro rata.

Mind in Enfield and Barnet is a fast-growing charity in North London providing much needed therapy, wellbeing support and advocacy services to people with mental health problems. 

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Health & Wellbeing Practitioner to work with a new partnership of Unified Community Assistance Network Enfield. UCAN Enfield is a consortium led by Age UK Enfield, with delivery partners from One to One, Mind in Enfield and Barnet, Wellbeing Connect, Bread n Butter, Cooking Champions and Middlesex Association for Blind.

We offer a range of services and activities to promote health and wellbeing and independence to residents aged 18+ who may be affected by sensory loss, autism, mental health conditions, long-term health conditions, and people whose voices are seldom heard.

Our specialist programme has been designed to be inclusive for all, and includes healthy eating and nutrition, cookery workshops, exercise and wellbeing groups. We also deliver peer support groups and lead the Adult Autism Hub.

Duties will include:

• Working alongside UCAN Enfield partners to co-produce and support the delivery of a programme of health and wellbeing sessions in the community that meet a range of needs from general population to specific conditions
• Attending community activities to meet new potential referrals and engage with participants.
• Managing shared UCAN Enfield Email inbox on a rota basis and loading new referrals onto Charity Log.
• Using Charity Log (CRM) to access and manage referrals by triaging and determining their level of need 1,2,3* and allocating the appropriate support which may include referring to other UCAN Enfield partners or referring to other partners.
• To manage a case load of 25 new referrals per month.
• To work alongside UCAN partners to ensure that referral pathways are established and maintained with GP’s, Enfield community organisations, VCS, Social Care, Health Teams, pharmacies.

The successful candidate should have a minimum 2 years of relevant experience in social care, housing and VCS Services.

This is a full-time position, 35 hours per week covering the service between 9-5 Monday to Friday. Salary is £27300 per annum.

With the support of the CSS team, you will have responsibility for the coordination of casework support for all clients, and have an allocated caseload of clients with varying levels of support needs.

Casework Service at ASSIST Sheffield

ASSIST Sheffield offers holistic support to over 50 people at a time that live in Sheffield and South Yorkshire and who have been refused asylum in the UK.  Our casework forms part of the wrap-around support we offer to our clients and is intended to complement our other services such as accommodation and limited financial support and is in line with ASSIST’s vision ‘for all people seeking asylum in Sheffield to live life with dignity and hope for the future’.

The Casework Coordinator role is key to enabling this transition to occur without compromising on client care.

We are a friendly and supportive team and service; working to do our bit to counter the hostile environment. Our Casework service embodies values of empowerment, respect and (striving for) social justice.

We want clients to be able to access casework support in order to address issues in a timely, supportive, informative and friendly manner.  Our focus is on connecting people to opportunities, knowledge and services so they are able to access these and resolve their issues as independently as possible. If people need support to access their rights and entitlements, we will be alongside them to advocate to the best of our ability, for the best outcome.

We operate casework sessions twice a week and we have direct contact with all ASSIST clients via our monthly Welfare Sessions; in which money, essential provisions and more light-touch casework support (issues that can be progressed within 15 minutes) are available to every client.

What the job involves

We’re looking for an Awareness, Engagement and Participation Senior Officer to join our Health Services, Equity and Improvement directorate.

In this role, you’ll be at the heart of our work to raise awareness and build stronger connections with those most at risk of prostate cancer. You’ll support our community engagement and participation efforts, making sure the voices of men affected by prostate cancer, and those at risk, shape what we do and how we do it. A big part of the role involves working directly with individuals and communities, helping them feel empowered and supported to get involved and make a real impact.

You’ll be the main point of contact for involving patients in projects, manage the day-to-day running of our Patient Advisory Group, and oversee our community inbox to make sure requests are responded to quickly and effectively and help to triage support requests.

Working with volunteers is another key part of the role. You’ll recruit and guide volunteers raising awareness in their communities, helping to deliver onboarding, training and ongoing support. You’ll work closely with our Volunteer Experience team to ensure everyone has a positive and meaningful experience.

You’ll regularly attend community events and find impactful ways to share our messages – particularly with communities affected by health inequalities. You’ll also help measure and evaluate the impact of our awareness and engagement work.

This is a rewarding role where you’ll meet volunteers and supporters and see the impact of our work first-hand. Together, we’re raising awareness of prostate cancer, giving men the knowledge of their risk and the power to act on it.

What we want from you

To be successful in this role you’ll be passionate about public health, awareness raising and working with people with lived experience. Patient involvement is a core principle of our organisation so understanding how that can inform and shape the charity’s work is essential.

You’ll be an excellent communicator (both in person and in writing) and able to engage clearly across a range of channels and audiences. Strong project management skills are essential, as you’ll often be juggling different tasks and working with a range of people, including patient groups, volunteers and colleagues across the charity.

You’ll be comfortable building relationships with communities, volunteers and partners, and have a good understanding of how health inequalities affect access to healthcare. Experience of working directly with communities most affected by these inequalities will be a real advantage. You’ll also be able to think creatively about how to raise awareness and broaden participation beyond traditional volunteering roles.

About the role:

This role is home based and therefore requires an appropriately confidential home space in which to work.

As an IDVA you will:

• Identify and assess the risks and needs of domestic abuse victims using an evidence-based risk identification checklist.
• Focus on and prioritise high risk cases and provide a proactive, short to medium term crisis intervention service. Deliver individually appropriate tailored support and information, advocacy, and practical support.
• Work with high risk victims of domestic abuse to assist them in accessing services to keep them and their family safe. Develop individual safety plans to meet client's needs as identified in the risks and needs assessment.
• Ensure each victim receives an individually appropriate tailored support and information service that fully meets their needs, keeping complex needs central to all processes and decisions.
• Understand the legal framework relating to the protection of children and vulnerable adults, including the policy and procedures of the Local Safeguarding Adult and Children's Boards.
• Provide advocacy, and information to victims including exploration of legal and civil options, housing, health and finance and support clients through the criminal justice system.
• Support the empowerment of the client and assist them in recognising the features and dynamics of domestic abuse present in their situation.
• Provide information and advocacy to enable service users to navigate and understand the criminal justice process and ensure their rights are upheld in accordance with the Victims Code of Practice.
• Participate fully in the Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference framework.
• Maintain accurate and confidential case management records and contribute to monitoring the service.

You will need:

• A SafeLives (or equivalent) IDVA qualification or the willingness to work towards.
• An ability to work independently and as part of a team, sharing, coaching and influencing others.
• A good understanding of domestic abuse including its impact on victims and their children.
• An understanding of the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management.
• Experience of working within a multi-agency and legislative framework.
• Experience of managing a complex caseload, and be able to prioritise work and deal with competing demands.
• Strong crisis management skills

Part of a thriving Income Generation department, our Individual Giving team consists of three programmes - Supporter Acquisition (including Supporter Engagement), Direct Dialogue and Supporter Retention and Development. Together, we deliver a diverse programme of work with ambitious income targets that support our organisational strategy, across cash, regular giving and lottery products. We’ve grown quite a bit over the past few years and benefitted from both investment and opportunity for innovation. That’s resulted in us generating over £20m of unrestricted income every year. About the role

This pivotal role will see you help deliver the Individual Giving (IG) and Retention strategies, working with colleagues across teams in IG to increase lifetime value of cash, regular giving and lottery supporters and collaborating with peers and Heads of team. You’ll work with the Senior Direct Marketing Manager – Supporter Engagement to lead on the delivery and development of the early retention programme which integrates acquisition and retention, and other exciting campaigns and projects, aimed at acquiring, retaining and engaging our supporters and stewarding them across their supporter journey with Shelter. Essentially, your focus will be on meeting supporter motivations and needs - giving supporters control of how they give, when we contact them and the content that will mean most to them. Helping build multi-channel, integrated and inspiring supporter journeys which build strong supporter relationships and long-term loyalty to Shelter will be your goal. And, along the way, you’ll get to work on new products and propositions to retain supporters in innovative ways and build strong relationships with colleagues, agencies and suppliers alike.

About you

Passionate about outstanding supporter experiences and maximising income opportunities, you have a good understanding of direct marketing and digital channels such as direct mail, SMS, telemarketing and email. You’re also used to optimising and reviewing campaigns and aren’t afraid to share both failures and successes. Managing and influencing stakeholders to deliver results comes naturally to you too. What’s more, you excel in analysis and intelligent use of data, are great at utilising insight, including the motivations, interests and behaviours of supporters to guide decisions and have a keen interest in, or willingness to learn about, product management and development. You’re happy to challenge the status quo and introduce new ideas, methods and processes too, like to horizon scan and keep ahead of emerging trends and are comfortable working in matrix teams.

Our centres provide a high-impact education programme which includes practical learning support, pastoral care, and motivational and confidence-building activities for young people aged 7-18. We are looking for a high-calibre candidate who will enjoy working each day with young people and who will thrive in a frontline, community-based, fast-paced and rewarding role. You will be taking up a permanent role as Centre Leader at our IntoUniversity centre in Nottingham. You will have responsibility for running your IntoUniversity centre, including managing your team, planning and delivering the programme, liaising with external stakeholders and meeting  IntoUniversity’s targets for delivery.

A substantial element of this role is delivering our education programme to children and young people aged 7-18, so you will need to have a genuine passion and enthusiasm for working with young people, including leading a class of 30 from the front, working with small teams of children and providing one-to-one support.

Centre Leaders are based at one of our IntoUniversity learning centres and work directly with young people, schools and families on a daily basis. It is therefore not a hybrid role and is based full-time in our centres

Location

IntoUniversity Nottingham West
The role requires intermittent travel in your region (usually within the day). Periodic travel out of the area is also required e.g. to London, this may include occasional overnight stays. 

Salary

£35,500 per annum. This will rise to £36,400 per annum, from 1st September 2025.

Annual leave
33 days (inc bank & public holidays) + 3 closure days (two in December and one in July) + additional length of service entitlement (one day per year of service, up to 5 days)
