Our service provides varying levels of care to 14 individuals with a range of support needs which can include learning disabilities. Some of the individuals require personal care, help taking medication and with other day to day tasks. Others are more independent and enjoy going out into the community alone.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about enabling and encouraging our service users to enjoy a fulfilling and valued life, and to develop their abilities to the fullest. Shifts will often be worked in teams of 3 to 4 staff members ensuring quality person-centred support to all of our service users.

Relief Support Worker Duties:

- Flexible working hours to include daytimes, evenings, weekends and sleep-ins

- Assisting with day-to-day living duties such as budgeting, shopping and supporting with medication and any personal care that may be required

- You will collaborate with service users, families, carers, and involved professionals to provide a coordinated and consistent service that maximises outcomes for service users

Our new Chorley ABI Service will provide a bespoke adapted supported living services for a man moving out of a hospital setting. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Manager to manage our two Carlisle Extra Care services, Heysham Gardens and Burnside Court are both well established, well regarded services. Both services have a vibrant and established care team providing compassionate support to older adults.  The services always ensure support cover is in place during the day and operates waking night support to clients should they need it.  The service is registered with the CQC as delivering Personal Care and has good systems and processes in place to ensure that a quality service is delivered consistently.  You will need to fulfil the role of registered manager with the CQC for this service and meet the expectations of the local authority commissioners and the contract that unpins the service which holds a ‘Good’ rating with the Care and Quality Commission.

You will have the values and commitment to lead the staff team to provide the highest standards of customer care and person-centred service delivery and to promote independence, choice and wellbeing. The role will involve the operational management of the service and the direct supervision of a Deputy Manager and Support Workers.

You will be expected to work effectively with families and other agencies and to maintain a positive and trusting relationship with the on-site Housing Scheme Managers.  You will need skills in contract and relationship management. We are seeking a flexible, reliable, and enthusiastic Support Worker to deliver services for Young Carers aged 5–16. The role involves three key parts. The first is delivering engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote wellbeing, reduce isolation, and give Young Carers a break from their responsibilities. The second is providing one-to-one support to help Young Carers manage challenges, access services, and prioritise their mental and emotional wellbeing. The third is leading outreach with schools, colleges, community settings and professionals to identify and engage hidden Young Carers. 

About The Role: 

You will work across two key age groups, 5–11 and 12–16, delivering and supervising activities, supporting events and trips, and providing behavioural management where needed. Alongside group activities, you will offer one-to-one support to individual Young Carers, ensuring they feel heard, included, and supported as they navigate the challenges of their caring roles. You will also deliver awareness training sessions, run stalls, and build partnerships in the community to identify and engage Young Carers. 

This is a part-time post (3 days per week). Flexibility is required, with regular evening and occasional weekend work.
