Main Purpose Of The Job:

This role is responsible for delivering a safe and supportive service to all residents living at O’Hanlon House during the night. The post holder needs to work alongside the day and night teams to ensure the effective delivery of high quality care, support and housing management according to Homeless Oxfordshire Policies and Procedures.

Main Areas Of Responsibility:

• Ensure the effective delivery of high quality care, support and housing management according to Homeless Oxfordshire policies and procedures.

• To be a supportive and effective part of the team working as part of a rota including nights and weekends. Maintain positive relationships with clients, relatives, carers, professionals, commissioners, contractors and the local community.

• Maintain a safe, clean and welcoming environment.

• To support and encourage clients to care for themselves and develop independent living skills.

• To assess and manage risk for individuals and in the service, making use of emergency services as required.

• Report any safeguarding concerns without delay in line with the charity’s policies and procedures.

• Comply with the charity’s health and safety standards.

• Manage challenging situations in line with procedures and to ensure the safety of yourself and others.

• Actively ensure security of the building through regular checks and monitoring of CCTV system.

• To carry out designated cleaning and laundry duties (and any other housekeeping tasks).

• To participate in handovers at the beginning and end of shifts, ensuring that information is properly recorded and passed on where appropriate and relevant and in a timely fashion.

• Ensure that IT systems are updated as required and concise record keeping is completed promptly.

• Ensure clients are aware of and support them to maximise their opportunity to be involved in Client Participation.

• To participate in the induction of and support new team members.

Spitalfields Crypt Trust (SCT) is an East London charity providing practical help, support and training to people who have experienced homelessness and addiction. We run a Housing First project, a Recovery Hub, supported housing and social enterprises that help people rebuild their lives. Our charity shops are a vital part of that work, raising income to support our services and connecting us with the communities we serve.

SCT is recruiting an Assistant Shop Manager to work across our East London charity shops in a floating role, supporting the day-to-day running of multiple stores.

This is a full-time position (35 hours per week, worked across 5 fully flexible days including weekends and bank holidays) with a salary of £26,936 per year.

A bit about you

You’re friendly, hands-on and organised, with strong retail experience, excellent people skills and a real enthusiasm for charity retail and preloved fashion. You’re confident supporting shop performance, delivering great customer service, leading volunteers and maintaining high standards across different locations.

The Role: We are seeking passionate and creative people to teach one-to-one lessons with young people across London, working both in students’ homes and other public spaces. You do not need to be a qualified teacher, we will provide your training. Our students have high needs including SEN, medical needs, and SEMH, making mainstream school unsuitable. Requirements:

Pay:

• Starting rate: £51.75 per 3-hour session + £6.25holiday pay.
• After a 5-week induction: £59.13 per session + £7.14 holiday pay.

Training:

• Induction Day: One full day (9:00 am – 3:45 pm).
• Induction Training Sessions: Five Tuesday afternoons (4:30 – 6:00 pm).
• Ongoing Professional Development: Weekly sessions on Thursday afternoons (4:30 – 6:00 pm).
• Training is paid at £13.15 + £1.59 per hour, allowing you to learn and teach simultaneously.

Senior Campaigner

Location: Hybrid (UK) with three days in our Shoreditch office

Contract: Full-time (37.5 hours per week)

Changing Markets is looking for an experienced and driven Senior Campaigner to join our dynamic team in running and winning market transformation campaigns. They will work on our high-profile campaign to reduce emissions from food systems and hold big corporate polluters accountable. The position is full-time (37.5 hours per week) with a semi-flexible working environment (daily working hours are flexible but attendance at the London office is expected three days a week).

The Role:

We are looking for a Senior Campaigner with at least seven years’ experience in running campaigns and a proven track record of success. They will work on our landmark campaign to transform the food system. The successful candidate should have strong writing skills, experience in commissioning research, writing reports, policy briefings, and building NGO coalitions. They should have outstanding inter-personal skills and be a team player with a good network of NGO contacts and the ability to form collaborative working relationships with a variety of different stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

· Lead the implementation of high-impact campaign strategies and tactics for our campaigns on food system transformation with a focus on agricultural super pollutants.

· Conduct research and analysis to inform campaign messaging and write reports, blogs, responses to consultations, etc. to advance our campaign goals.

· Ensure the impactful roll-out of campaign activities across media, digital platforms, and amplify our messages via coordination with partners, through organisation of events and other outreach activities.

· Build and maintain strong relationships with a range of stakeholders, including NGOs, journalists, researchers, policymakers and corporates.

Requirements:

The successful candidate must have:

- demonstrable experience in running and winning international campaigns;

- excellent writing skills in English, additional language is a plus;

- the ability to lead, implement and coordinate research (either in-house or by external consultants) to create the evidence base needed to win campaigns;

- a good eye for detail combined with a strong ability to distill and critically evaluate key information and translate it into simple campaign materials;

- networking skills and a proven ability to create and run diverse coalitions;

- good organisational skills with the ability to deliver to tight deadlines, multi-task and operate in a fast-paced environment with occasional heavy workloads; 

- the ability to think out-of-the-box and to adapt campaign plans to changing circumstances;

- willingness to travel, sometimes at short notice;

- an interest in environmental issues with a passion for creating lasting social change.

It’s a plus if the candidate has:

- good knowledge of debates surrounding environmental and climate change issues;

- experience in handling media relations;

- good knowledge of how to use social media creatively to win campaigns;

- experience of managing a grant budget and delivering narrative impact reports to funders.

SALARY AND BENEFITS

47,000-52,000 £/year depending on experience. We also offer benefits, such as health and life insurance, and an annual sports and wellbeing allowance. Annual leave is 25 days per calendar year (pro-rata) plus Bank Holidays.
