This is an exciting and varied role requiring an eye for detail and engagement across all departments within the organisation. The Finance Manager is a key role, responsible for the day-to-day finances and responding to queries as they arise for the organisation. Reporting to and working closely with the Finance Director, the Finance Manager will ensure the systems and procedures in place that safeguard the Charity and its subsidiary companies (ESC Catering Ltd and Royal Court Theatre Productions Ltd) are the most effective they can be. The Finance Manager line manages the Finance Assistant ensuring the transactional detail is accurately and efficiently processed in a timely manner. Working in a fully paperless operation the Finance Manager will take the lead on several of the systems used to produce all the records in Xero. The jobholder will also be a key player in producing for example: first draft Management Accounts, Catering accounts, departmental reports and help colleagues with analysis against budgets.

The role 

You’ll bring energy and enthusiasm to the team, ensuring financial functions are carried out efficiently, effectively, accurately and in a timely way to enable us to focus on achieving our charitable mission.

The focus of the role will be on managing and improving financial processes, ensuring that the Senior Leadership Team have up-to-date and accurate records for reporting to the Board, supporting the programmes and philanthropy teams with accurate fund reports and preparing the accounts for audit each year.  You will work closely with the whole team of staff and volunteers, but you will work most closely with the Operations Director and the Finance Manager.

Key Areas of Responsibility 

1. Treasury and Investment Management

· Monitor endowment investments and provide calculations and support in relation to total return

· Prepare quarterly investment management report

· Treasury management to maximise our investment returns

2. Bookkeeping and Management Accounts

· Work with the Finance Manager to ensure donations are properly recorded on our CRM and in Sage

· Work with the Finance Manager to reconcile bank accounts monthly

· Preparing monthly management reports, noting significant variances with forecasts

· Monitor outstanding debtors, and with line manager approval, chase overdue debtors

· Prepare fund balances when required by the programmes team to support grant-making

· Presentation of management accounts to board and engagement with board members as required

3. Annual Accounts

· Prepare statutory accounts, working with the Operations Director and CEO to ensure income and costs are allocated accurately across SORP categories

· Participate in the Audit process, engaging with auditors and prepare information for audit and liaise with auditors in the conduct of the annual audit process

· Prepare annual fundholder statements

· Support the Senior Leadership Team in the preparation of the annual budget and cash flow forecast

4. Other Work Required

· Support the Finance Manager and provide cross cover when required

· Attend SCF events as requested, including very occasionally, evenings

Person Specification - Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Required

· Ideally at least five years’ experience in a similar role

· Minimum of AAT Level 4, preferably ACA/ACCA or equivalent

· Experience of accounting software, especially Sage Line 50

· Experience of working with databases and Microsoft Office, including Office 365

· Knowledge of charity finance

Purpose of the role

The Facilities Manager will be a key member of NAE’s operations team, responsible for overseeing the maintenance and operations of our 4-storey building (including gallery spaces, meeting rooms, performance space, workshop, artist studio, cafébar, plant room and technical storage) is fit for purpose.

Main duties of the role

Oversee planned preventative maintenance (PPM), testing/inspections, and reactive repairs across all building services including but not limited to plumbing, electric wiring, HVAC, lifts, film alarm, emergency lighting, fire extinguishers and suppression systems, intruder alarm, CCTV, access control, pest control, etc, within budget.

Ensure NAE’s building is always well-presented, clean and aesthetically in a good state of repair, ensuring all areas are maintained in a tidy and well organised.

Responsible for the management of the facilities budget, including negotiating the best possible value across utilities, contracts and service level agreements.

Ensure all maintenance and service works take place with agreed SLA’s, is delivered on time and to budget and service reports and other filing is well managed.

Responsible for Health and Safety across the building and organisation including health and safety policy, fire strategy, risk assessments covering all areas of the building and specific RAs for each event, safe systems of work, accident/incident reports and compliant filing.

Responsible for building security systems, keys and fobs, alarm monitoring and keyholding services, and alongside the General Manager oversee emergency procedures & act as a fire warden.

Responsible for premises cleaning (including line management of two part-time cleaners) and associated services such as waste management and sanitary collections.

Support the Executive Director to develop and implement an Environmental Policy to ensure that NAE considers the environment within all new and existing suppliers’ arrangements.Responsible for carbon footprint reporting.

We are an agile social enterprise looking for a qualified Finance Manager to manage and operate our existing finance function. Working flexibly from home, you will perform a core role in our small, friendly virtual team helping to maintain financial stability and control as we focus on our mission to deliver successful projects across a range of settings globally. It is a broad role encompassing administrative, human resources, team internal comms, and governance support to the London office, reporting directly to the Executive Director but also working very closely with the wider senior management team and our board of trustees.

The European office is a small, dynamic and enthusiastic team, whilst very much part of the larger global BRAC family of organisations. This is a particularly exciting time as we embark on a new strategy to build our presence across Europe in support of BRAC’s global ambition to create opportunities for over 250 million people by 2030.

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Finance Manager to join our  Finance Team. The post holder will have responsibility for ensuring that the accounting records and management information for the Diocese are adequately managed and maintained. 

The Finance Manager will have operational delivery of the effective management of the Finance function. This will be achieved through a whole team approach by:

· directing and managing the Finance Team members

· developing a dynamic and flexible finance team including a continuous review of accounting processes and  finance procedures.

· providing advice on current and future financial strategy and policy

· researching, modelling, developing and implementing budgetary plans that effectively contribute to the overall strategy

· providing financial management and accounting services through the Finance team.

· ensuring effective communication of financial information to the Director of Finance & Operations, the Chair of the DBF, Boards, Councils, other central Diocesan departments and throughout the diocese

· compliance with all statutory and other financial reporting requirements

· supporting local parishes so that they can maximise their financial resources

· targeting the performance of DBF investment assets to improve returns — both income and the return on capital.

· analysing the receipts of the Common Fund scheme to deliver sustainable levels of income to the DBF.

Financial Control & Compliance:

1) Ensuring that delegated financial powers are adhered to

2) Maintain strong financial system controls and processes including: purchase ledger, coding and input of invoices and expenses, preparing and implementing timely payments; maintenance and reconciliation of customer records and credit control; maintenance and reconciliation of general ledger records to Trial Balance including nominal ledger journals

3) Ensuring that the administration of banking processes including preparation of BACS and cheque payments and reconciliation of DBF bank accounts are transacted effectively and safely

4) Ensure that appropriate arrangements are put in place for effective and efficient delivery of DBF payroll and any payroll bureau services, such as Derby Cathedral

5) Liaise with Finance, Stipend and Pension board colleagues at the NCI’s, to ensure that transactions are carried out in an efficient and timely manner

6) Maintain the database of funds held by the DBF as custodian trustee
