About the Role

We’re looking for a dynamic and experienced Therapy Service Manager (Job Share) to co-lead our passionate therapy team at Headway East London. The Therapy Service Manager is responsible for leading the therapy team to plan and deliver an excellent service which empowers our community of brain injury survivors. This role is a job share and covers the following aspects of the Headway East London Therapy Service: Enfield Brain Injury Service (Enfield) and our Hackney-based Day Service.

As Therapy Service Manager, you will lead the delivery of therapy services within both the Day Service and Enfield, ensuring high standards, consistency, and a strong sense of purpose across the team. You will play a vital role in the growth and development of the therapy offer across all of Headway East London, working closely with your job share partner and the Director of Services (Clinical Lead) to shape and expand our provision.

This is a unique opportunity for someone with strong clinical leadership and strategic planning skills to help shape the future of our therapy services.

We are looking for someone who brings: 

• Provide leadership to the therapy team to ensure the efficient delivery, quality and consistency of this service within Enfield and the Day Service.
• Manage the development of plans and strategies for the therapy team and instil a sense of collaboration, common goals and working together across the team to ensure the sustainability of the service.
• Build good relationships with stakeholders in the boroughs we serve to develop opportunities for growth and development of our services.
• Work with the Director of Services (Clinical Lead) on commissioning/tender/framework contracting arrangements with the ICS’s we serve. 
• Work with staff to ensure our members’ voices are at the centre of everything we do.
• Work with the Director of Services (Clinical Lead) and the Finance team to ensure unit costs are accurate and work to ensure full costs of the service are recovered from customers.

About the role

Job Purpose

Your role is an integral part of the central team with responsibility for procedures, systems that support the effective, efficient, and compliant managing of our premises, IT systems and some HR functions.

You will play a key role in delivering and maintaining our offices and facilities, and the IT services for the whole organisation alongside our retained IT consultants.

By providing high quality operational and administrative support you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our organisation. You will do this by:

• Supporting the Director of Finance and Operations in delivering and maintaining effective operational function at the charity. Including but not exclusively, Health & Safety, Insurance, Premises, Facilities, Vehicle Management, IT and CRM system services.
• Improving existing office systems and identifying opportunities to develop new systems and processes to enable people to work more collaboratively, efficiently, and effectively.

People’s Palace Projects (PPP) is a research-led arts charity based at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) and a National Portfolio Organisation (NPO) of Arts Council England (ACE). We develop collaborative arts-based projects with artists, activists, academics, policy advocates, and audiences to address social and climate injustices in the UK, Brazil and beyond. Over the past 28 years, PPP has gained national and international recognition for extensive work exploring the power of creative practices and partnering with marginalised communities to drive change. 

The next five years (2025-2030) will focus on expanding research supported by leadership transition, strengthening capacity, and strategic development, while maintaining core values of collaboration, inclusivity, and innovation. Role description and core responsibilities 

The Office and IT Assistant plays a key role in the Foundation supporting a busy office, as well as providing hands on support to IT function.

Office Administration

· Act as first point of contact for general operational enquiries

· Manage post, deliveries and couriers for the Foundation

The Role

As a Financial Accountant, you will maintain accurate financial records, ensure regulatory compliance, and support robust financial reporting and audit processes.

You will play a central role in managing the general ledger and producing statutory accounts, ensuring transactions are recorded in accordance with UK GAAP and Charities SORP.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will lead the cash flow forecasting, ensure timely and accurate VAT returns and lead the reconciliation of donor income, restricted funds, and other key financial areas.

You will also contribute to the implementation of internal controls, preparation for audits, and the upkeep of regulatory frameworks, such as the Charity Commission’s CC8.

Additionally, you will:

- Prepare accurate financial statements and co-ordinate audit schedules
- Supervise bank reconciliations and ensure effective Treasury management
- Provide VAT training to staff and manage VAT risk through robust controls

About You

To be considered as a Financial Accountant, you will need:

- To be qualified with a recognised professional body such as CIMA, ACCA or ACA or equivalent experience
- Experience in financial accounting within a non-profit, NGO, or international organisation
- Experience preparing financial statements under UK GAAP, Charities SORP, or IFRS
- Experience of statutory accounts preparation and managing year-end process
- Experience of balance sheet management, account reconciliations, and financial controls
- Experience supporting external audits
- Experience with VAT management
- Experience in cash flow management, treasury functions, and multi-currency accounting
- In-depth knowledge of financial accounting principles
- Knowledge of CC8 (Charity Commission’s Internal Financial Controls for Charities) and its application in nonprofit financial management
- Familiarity with financial systems and data management

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Programme Development Manager represents an evolution from our Programme Manager role, focusing on shaping the future direction of The Avenues Youth Project's programmes whilst maintaining oversight of current delivery. This isn't just about managing what we do now, it's about looking ahead and designing what comes next.

Working closely with the Programme Director, you will be responsible for researching innovative approaches to youth work, developing funding proposals, and creating programmes that respond to the changing needs of young people aged 8-19. We need someone who can think creatively about engagement whilst keeping an eye on emerging trends and opportunities in the sector.

As a member of the senior team, you'll help embed our values throughout the organisation and ensure our programmes remain at the cutting edge of youth work practice.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Programme Innovation and Strategic Development

Programme Design and Innovation

● Research and develop innovative programme concepts that address emerging needs of young people within the community, utilising best practice from across the youth work sector.

● Lead comprehensive design processes for new initiatives, collaborating with lead youth workers, young people, families and community partners to ensure programmes are relevant and effective.

● Create detailed programme frameworks incorporating learning outcomes, delivery models, resource requirements and sustainability strategies.

● Plan, develop and deliver allocated youth work projects that meet organisational aims, taking responsibility for budgeting, planning, delivery, monitoring and evaluation.

Current Programme Oversight

● Collaborate in overseeing the recruitment, retention and progress of young people across assigned programmes, working to ensure consistent engagement and positive outcomes.

● Participate in necessary working groups and initiatives on behalf of the team, liaising with a wide range of youth service providers to ensure AYP is represented in appropriate forums and relevant partnerships.

● Have proactive contact and engagement within the community, maintaining visibility and building relationships that support programme delivery.

● Work with the Programme Operations Manager to report and respond to the Programme Director and senior team on the planning, development, delivery and progress of youth work programmes.

● Ensure all data collection, documents and record keeping is up-to-date and meets the requirements of the Impact and Evaluation Manager.

● Monitor programme attendance patterns and young people's progression, identifying opportunities for enhanced engagement or additional support.

● Coordinate with the Programme Operations Manager and Lead Youth Workers to ensure consistency of approach and share effective practices across different programme areas.

Community Partnerships and External Relations

Strategic Relationship Building

● Establish and maintain strategic relationships with schools, colleges, community organisations, local authorities and other youth providers to develop collaborative networks.

● Represent AYP at community forums, working groups and sector events, maintaining awareness of local priorities and identifying partnership opportunities.

● Develop collaborative programmes with partner organisations, combining resources and expertise to maximise impact.

● Engage with families and community members to understand their aspirations for young people.

Programme Partnerships

· Support the Programme Director in developing and maintaining key relationships and partnerships.

· Establish positive working relationships with external agencies delivering youth work with us and those supporting organisational development.

· Work with the Engagement, Communities and Culture Manager, to develop and maintain effective long-term community partnerships to boost membership at AYP.

Research, Evaluation and Quality Assurance

Evidence-Based Development

● Maintain current knowledge of research and best practice in youth work, particularly relating to our target demographics.

● Commission or conduct research projects to inform programme development decisions and enhance service delivery.

● Collaborate with the Impact and Evaluation Manager, to analyse data from existing programmes to identify effective practices and areas requiring improvement.

● Collaborate with the Impact and Evaluation Manager to establish robust evaluation frameworks for new programmes.

● Work with the Impact and Evaluation Manager to understand and articulate funder objectives throughout programme design and delivery.

Quality Standards and Continuous Improvement

● Develop quality standards and frameworks for all programmes, ensuring alignment with organisational values.

● Collaborate with the HR Manager to create comprehensive training materials and guidance documentation for staff delivering new programmes.

● Monitor programme quality through systematic observation, feed \back collection and data analysis.

● Lead programme effectiveness reviews and provide recommendations for improvement.

● Liaise with external quality assurance bodies, inspectors, and regulatory authorities as required.

Staff Leadership and Development

● Line Management of Programme Operations Manager and Lead Youth Workers - including regular observations, formal supervisions, annual appraisals, and investing in their professional development.

● Attend Line Managers training and regular sessions with HR Manager.

● Deliver reflective practice sessions to the youth work team to support continuous professional development as part of our Learning and Development plan, in collaboration with HR Manager.

● Assist in recruiting or contracting new workers, tutors or teachers as required.

Funding and Financial

Strategic Funding Development

● Collaborate with the Fundraising Manager to identify funding opportunities that support programme development priorities and organisational objectives.

● Contribute to funding applications for new programme areas, ensuring proposals demonstrate clear impact potential and realistic delivery plans.

● Develop comprehensive business cases for programme expansion, including cost-benefit analysis and risk assessment.

● Monitor funding environments and policy developments that may influence programme design.

Financial Administration

● Work with the Finance Controller to ensure high-level financial administration and record keeping, with accountability for project expenditure.

● Maintain clear understanding of AYP's programme budgets and finances, with responsibility for budgeting, monitoring and reporting of assigned budgets.

● Participate in regular budget meetings with the Programme Director and work with the Finance Controller to ensure costs remain within budget.

● Check and approve Lead Youth Workers timesheets for allocated budgets and resolve discrepancies.

Safeguarding and Compliance

● Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead and carry out responsibilities in strict accordance with AYP's Safeguarding Policy,

● Work with TACs, PRUs, Police, Early Help Teams, MARFS, LADO etc. where required to ensure safety of all young people, staff and volunteers,

● Act as main point of contact for safeguarding referrals, working in partnership with other agencies to ensure safety and wellbeing,

● Maintain comprehensive knowledge of safeguarding practices and current legislation.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES 

· In conjunction with your Line Manager to continuously develop the role to ensure that all tasks are being undertaken in an effective and appropriate manner which meets the strategic aims and objectives of The Avenues. 

· Participate in internal/external meetings as required, and attend training events, conferences, and other functions as necessary. 

· Participate in regular supervision and annual appraisal and help in identifying your own job-related development and training needs. 

· Adhere to all The Avenues’ policies and procedures. 

· Stay abreast of policy and developments in youth work locally and nationally.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic (Senior) Research Officer. This exciting role involves undertaking research on gambling related financial harms and engaging with stakeholders in financial services firms to practically apply our research to their work. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent critical thinking, research and policy development skills, with the ability to digest complex information quickly and appraise firms work against regulatory requirements, best practice examples and policy recommendations.

The successful candidate will primarily work as part of the Gambling Harms Action Lab team where we’re bringing together seven representatives from financial services firms to explore ways to reduce gambling related financial harms. The (Senior) Research Officer will be an integral part of the team working to tackle gambling related financial harms through delivering timely and insightful research and consultancy support. 

We are looking for an exceptional team member who is driven to create meaningful change and is passionate about tackling gambling related financial harms. Key tasks in the role will include: 

• Developing and maintaining a strong understanding of key developments in gambling and financial services sectors, including regulatory guidance and best practice.

• Developing and strengthening relationships within financial services firms by delivering support to practically apply existing and new research to financial services work with customers with experience of mental health problems and or gambling harms. 

• Collaborating, brainstorming and analysing to identify potential policy solutions to address gambling related financial harms. 

• Collating insights from our Research Community of people with lived experience of mental health problems, and sharing these learnings through insight reports and briefings with financial services and other stakeholders.

• Supporting the Head of the Gambling Harms Action Lab with monitoring and measuring the impact of our work, engaging with key stakeholders, and suggesting innovative new ways to increase our impact. 

• Supporting other teams within the organisation to deliver our programme of research and consultancy work

We are looking for a Senior Programmes Support (Maternity Cover) to join a talented team, passionate about working towards Action Against Hunger’s vision of a world free from hunger.

This is a key role that works across the Advocacy and Nutrition Departments. You’ll be providing financial, administrative and coordination support to the Programme Funding Team and Nutrition Department. You’ll support business development, identify funding opportunities, track our finances, monitor grant/contracts, and spot areas for improvement in all we do – with the independence to make those changes.You’ll also engage with other teams within Action Against Hunger UK (e.g. finance), Action Against Hunger’s International teams (country level, HQs) as well as other humanitarian organisations and agencies (e.g. UNICEF, WHO) as relevant.
