As Research Involvement Lead, you’ll be responsible for leading a programme of patient and public involvement in research, a core component of our charity wide involvement strategy.
This role will ensure that our research strategy and funding programme is shaped by the priorities and needs of people affected by blood cancer. You’ll review and refine our processes to ensure they are in line with sector best practice and that they meet the needs of our community of people affected by blood cancer. You’ll further embed effective and meaningful involvement at all stages of the research cycle at Blood Cancer UK.
You’ll also work to support the involvement of people affected by blood cancer in external research and strategic projects across the UK. You will ensure that the research we and others fund is patient focussed and has the potential to accelerate progress and deliver the maximum impact for the communities we support.

What you will be doing:
- Working with the H&C Finance Business Partner and the Treasury & Finance team to prepare the monthly financial accounts for the NHS VR programme and ensure that the appropriate invoice is raised.
* To work with colleagues engaged in the NHS VR programme to prepare a forecast of expenditure to the end of the current financial year

What you need to know:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACMA, ACCA)
- A minimum of three years' experience of having led and managed the preparation of complex financial management accounts.
- A high level of Excel experience including the use of key functions to automate part of the process
Experience of working with non-financial colleagues in the gathering of relevant information, the development of budgets and forecasts and the reporting and interpretation of actual performance.

Your new role
The Deputy Head of FP&A has a key role to play in developing the Financial Planning and Analysis function, particularly in the direct line management of the Management Accounting and Analysis team to deliver core management accounting and reporting services, helping to support the Head of Financial Planning and Analysis to further embed Finance Business Partnering across the organisation and to bring a greater level of consistency, efficiency and quality to financial reporting and planning processes.

The grants area requires some development in terms of processes and procedures.

The Role
This role will support the Financial Controller to deliver a high-quality payments and cash management service. The role of the Cash and Payments Manager is to oversee the Operational Finance team (3 people) and be responsible for managing, monitoring, and reporting on all cash transactions. You will manage cash management systems and processes, recommending and implementing any improvements to current processes and controls.
You will review and approve bi-weekly supplier/expenses payment runs ensuring that there is sufficient cash available and review, sample check and provide second stage approval for payment run files on the banking systems to ensure accurate payments.

Your Schools Fees Supervisor daily tasks will include:
- Overseeing the accounts receivable process and ensuring accurate records.
- Managing fee collections and liaising with corporate payers and schools fees.
- Supporting the biannual billing process and supervising daily banking.
- Providing excellent customer service and resolving fee-related queries.
- Building strong relationships with staff and external stakeholders.
Your skills and attributes will include:
- Excellent customer service skills and cultural awareness.
- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- The ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion.
- Strong IT skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Prior experience with CRM systems is a plus.
- Experience leading a team and supervising accounts receivable is important.
