Job description

We have a new opportunity for an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA) Team Leader to join the 'Pathfinder' project in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.

This project will support victims of domestic abuse in the Family Court. You will be responsible for IDVA practice and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of all requested supporting documentation.

The post is for 37.5 hours a week and whilst initially fixed term, this may be extended.

About the Role

As a IDVA Team Leader (Pathfinder project) you will be part of a multi-disciplinary team, and will take referrals from CAFCASS to arrange support for victims of domestic abuse entering or going through family court proceedings. You will allocate these to the team of IDVA's, that you will directly manage. You will case review all open supported cases. You will ensure all reports created are accurate and compliant with data protection legislation and guides.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct support to IDVA and regular supervision / line management
  • Report writing and checking for CAFCASS and other partners.
  • Monitoring and recording activity and outcomes measured.


About You:

Ideally, you will have:

  • - A good understanding around the issues of domestic abuse and its implications for children and young people
  • - Knowledge of family court proceedings
  • - Ability to write concise, factual, effective reports
  • - Experience of developing and maintaining effective working relationships


You will need:

  • Training for IDVA Managers, if available


This role involves regular travel and due to the locations, a driving license and access to a vehicle is considered an essential requirement.
