The Volunteer, Engagement & Development Manager will sit within our leadership team structure and work proactively with colleagues across CABB, holding primary responsibility for the following key areas:

• Lead on the review, development and implementation of our volunteering programme, while ensuring the inclusion, engagement, diversity, impact and value of volunteers is recognised and celebrated.
• Provide line management to a small team of paid staff who work closely with and support our volunteers and engagement areas of the service.

The postholder will be a dedicated, flexible and quality focused individual who is able to work independently, with minimal supervision.

Community Advice Works is an established community charity based in New Cross in South
East London. As the only charity in the London Borough of Lewisham offering a general
drop-in advice service, we are a critical source of support to vulnerable residents. We have
built a strong reputation within the Borough for providing high quality, independent, person-
centred welfare and housing advice. The organisation employs several part-time staff and
has a team of volunteers. In addition to providing advice we currently deliver a domestic
violence project at Guys and St Thomas’ Hospital.

Like many charities in the advice sector, CAW is going through a process of change. We are
looking for an experienced and community-driven individual with a strong set of managerial
and interpersonal skills, preferably with a background in advice work, to maintain the strong
structures and reputation for excellence that we have developed.

As service manager, you will work with our friendly staff and trustee team to deliver our vital

Key duties

• Staff and volunteer management
• Line manage staff by providing support and supervision as needed, conducting regular performance reviews, and identifying staff training needs
• Oversee recruitment, training, and management of volunteers to ensure they are properly supported and equipped to help meet CAW’s service goals

Service delivery

• Ensure high quality and timely service delivery in line with the Service Level Agreements with our various service partners

• Ensure day-to-day administrative processes are functioning smoothly, and that necessary policies and procedures are up to date
• Line manage work of receptionist/administrative support worker

Fundraising and Marketing

• Help identify new funding and other revenue-raising opportunities
• Support the work of the fundraising sub-committee in preparing funding applications
• Work with trustees and external vendors to ensure CAW website is kept up-to-date
• Work with trustees and external vendors (as appropriate) to develop a social media presence for CAW
• Identifying and supporting efforts to increase CAW’s profile in the local community and to build relationships with key local stakeholders as appropriate Governance
• Prepare monthly reports for the trustees on service performance
• Maintain good lines of communication with trustees on all operational matters
• Attend trustee board meetings as needed

Start Network is an independent charity made up of more than 80 aid agency members across five continents, including international, national and local organisations who aim to deliver more effective emergency aid, harnessing the power and knowledge of the network to make faster and better decisions to help people affected by crises. 

The Start Platform maintains a strong relationship with Save the Children as the grant custodian of many of the Start Network's programmes, so whilst you'll be embedded within the finance team at Save the Children UK in this role, you'll be playing a key role dedicated to the Start Network.

As Finance Business Partner, you will support and drive the business areas you partner with, including Start Funds and Risk Financing, in maximising impact for children through delivery of effective and efficient financial performance and awards management.

In this role, you will: 

• Provide strategic and financial decision support to your assigned team within Global Programmes to underpin strong financial performance
• Provide effective monthly reporting to support regular reviews of business performance
• Work alongside the business to develop forecasts, budgets, and longer-term financial plans

This important role oversees the commissioning, production and governance of a wide range of films, multimedia content and photographic work, delivering a regular stream of content across channels for a range of audiences.

You’ll be comfortable operating in the documentary film world with the ability to build relationships with documentary filmmakers, producers and funders. Managing end to end production and projects, you’ll create films which deliver and show successfully our impactful campaigns.

Conservation Collective (CC) funds solutions to protect the environment, restore nature, and safeguard against climate change. The CC UK charity incubates, launches, and supports locally focused foundations which open new channels of funding to support the most impactful environmental grassroots projects. Our network comprises 20 members, based all over the world, and is growing steadily.

As the demand for our model increases around the world, our income and expenditure are growing in volume and complexity. We are looking for a Finance Officer to support our financial operations through this expansion: recording financial transactions, monitoring internal controls and coordinating with our local foundations about financial management. The role will report to the Finance Director and will work closely with the rest of the team. This is a critical role that is central to the success of building a robust organisation, and there is opportunity for an ambitious candidate to grow in responsibility with it.

Key Responsibilities:

 Carry out day-to-day financial transactions

· Process invoices to support fundraising efforts of local foundations in the network.

· Review vendors invoices as per internal controls and update them to the purchasing ledger for authorisation.

· Conduct on-going reconciliation of bank accounts and donor due diligence.

· Reconciliation of merchant accounts (Just Giving, Donorbox or Paypal) and prompt communication to local foundations and fundraising team.

· Setting up systems to process event, auction or other ad-hoc fundraising campaigns.

· Preparation of Gift Aid reporting on quarterly basis.

· Weekly payments administration using online banking.

· Maintain accurate records of financial transactions on Xero.

· Maintain monthly records of bank payments approval for audit purposes.

Coordinate income recognition with fundraising team members

· Notify local foundations about donations received and log required documentation.

· Provide formal receipts on received donations as requested.

· Reconcile Stripe transactions on Salesforce to maintain accurate donor records.

· Support with income reconciliation between Salesforce and Xero.

Support Finance Director on maintaining accurate financial information and developing ongoing internal controls

· Support creation of management accounts materials for trustees meeting.

· Support quarterly reconciliation of funds with our affiliated network member to communicate re-grants of donations

What is the role?

Joining the organisation at a pivotal time, with various exciting upcoming projects, you would be reporting directly into the CEO. Main responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Overseeing the entirety of the Finance department and four direct reports
• Acting as a business partner for the Finance department; liaising with various stakeholders at a number of different levels, communicating financial information effectively
• Budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning to ensure maintained financial health of the Church
• Responsibility for the year-end accounts and audit liaison
• Ensuring all financial processes and governance within the Church adhere to up-to-date regulations; developing new policies where necessary

What do you need to succeed?

• A full accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
• Experience, or desire to be working within a charity finance function
• Demonstrable, extensive post-qualification accounting experience, having managed teams and interacted with Senior Leadership Teams, The Board, etc.

Title: Finance and Support Services Assistant

About the role

As the Finance and Support Services Assistant (FSSA) you will support the Finance and Support Services Officer (FSSO) with Financial Management and office administration by facilitating financial transactions, generating transaction vouchers, maintaining accounting ledgers and cash books, managing office petty cash, processing payroll, general office administration/ logistics, procurement, maintenance of the office assets register, filing, handling workshops logistics as well as travel logistics for staff and visitors.

The FSSA key duties and accountabilities include:

• Timely preparation of payment vouchers and writing and dispatching cheques.
• Regularly maintain and update the excel cash book.
• Processing of vouchers in Sun system and availing them to FSSO for posting within 5 working days from the Transaction date and filing of the same.
• Managing the office petty cash, both local and foreign.
• Receipting cash and cheques from staff for private mileage, telephone and travel advance returns and subsequent banking within 24 hours.
• Handle regular payroll administrative issues such as ensuring payroll is delivered to the bank once prepared and the necessary statutory cheque payments delivered in a timely manner as required in the Income Tax Act & filing with respective authorities the annual PAYE & NSSA returns.
• Coordinate renewal of motor vehicle licences and insurances.
• Review of procurement of office stationery.
• Ensure effective maintenance and repair of furniture, fittings and other office equipment  
• Ensuring accurate coding of project expenditures (restricted funding).
• Take part in the review of partner financial reports.
• Partner visits with FSSO to review their financial procedures.

As the successful candidate you will hold a bachelor's degree in accounting or any relevant qualification/certificate and have experience of working in a busy accounting department, ideally in an INGO environment.
