Primary purpose of the role:
WECare’s Finance Officer will support the Head of Finance in the day-to-day financial operations of the charity, ensuring financial transactions are accurately recorded, reconciled, and reported. The role will play a key part in maintaining financial transparency and strong financial controls across the organisation, particularly in managing donations, supplier payments, and internal financial processes. The successful candidate will bring a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, while also being able to understand the wider goals of a mission-driven organisation and the importance of responsible stewardship of donor funds. As WECare continues to expand its programmes and impact, this role will support improvements to financial systems and processes, helping ensure the charity can scale effectively while maintaining strong financial governance.

Key responsibilities:

Manage the finance inbox and respond to finance-related queries

Job Description
This is a responsible position managing the accounts and payroll of a medium-sized West London youth charity. The role is central to maintaining the charity’s financial wellbeing and thereby enhancing opportunities for young people.
It is a part-time role, with plenty of flexibility. Working from home and coming into our office at least once a week, you can spread the weekly hours across 3, 4 or 5 days – whatever works for you. You’ll be working closely with the Treasurer, Chief Executive, Fundraiser and Programme Director as well as our HR Manager and Operations Manager, with whom you will share some admin support.

Role Requirements
· Manage day-to-day financial operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable/grants claims, bank reconciliations, general accounting functions.
· Perform monthly journals and reconciliation of balance sheet/control accounts, including accruals, prepayments, deferred income and fixed assets.
· Claim monthly the Gift Aid that has not already been collected through donation platforms.
· Produce timely and accurate monthly reports for budget holders to help them effectively manage their budgets, ensuring that spend is being properly tracked and allocated against programmes and grants/donations.
· Hold regular meetings with budget holders following the production of the monthly reports.
· Work with the CEO, Treasurer, Fundraiser and programme/operational budget holders where necessary to:
o Provide the Finance Committee with a monthly dashboard
o Co-ordinate the annual budget process, and produce quarterly financial forecasts.
o Manage cashflow projection
· Support the Monitoring and Evaluation manager with donor reports
· Liaise with the auditors throughout the audit process, providing supporting schedules and grant documentation in support of the TB figures provided.
· Prepare the statutory annual accounts for review by the auditors.
· Manage payroll (30+staff), pensions and the allocation of project personnel costs. This includes liaison with the HR and programme managers to ensure the Employment Hero payroll system is processing HR information and timesheets correctly.
· Process improvement – work with key stakeholders to ensure that finance processes are fit for purpose and implementing change where improvements can/should be made.
· Ensure the Avenues has appropriate internal controls in place and is meeting all tax and audit obligations.
· Preparation and maintenance of a finance manual.
· Deal with general finance queries, both externally and from members of the team
· Co-supervise the finance and operations administrator
Person Requirements
· Accountancy qualification eg- ACA/CIMA/ACCA/AAT Professional Level or QBE
· Demonstrable experience of working in a similar role.
· Previous experience in the charity sector would be highly desirable although not essential.
· Good knowledge of QuickBooks system and proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel.
· Experience of process improvement and system implementation an advantage.
· Strong communication skills well versed in speaking finance with non-finance colleagues.
· Ability to adhere to deadlines
· Confident in holding self and others to account
· Ability to work to high standards, without needing detailed supervision

Requirements
Essential:
• Studying towards or qualified in AAT / ACCA / CIMA or relevant degree
• 4-5 years’ experience in finance, accounts, or bookkeeping
• Experience with accounting software (Xero, Sage, QuickBooks)
• Strong Excel skills and numerical ability; strong analytical skills
• High attention to detail and organisation
• Strong communication skills
• Deadline oriented and has worked in a fast pace environment
Desirable:
• Experience in charity / non-profit finance
• Knowledge of fund accounting / restricted funding
• Exposure to audit
• Understanding of Gift Aid
• Been previously independently responsible for parts of finance function and as a team leader.

IPS Grow works with commissioners, healthcare providers and delivery partners to expand high-quality IPS services, improve quality and learning across the system, and ensure the data and evidence behind IPS continue to demonstrate its impact. Scaling IPS has been a priority for Social Finance since 2015 and continues to be an integral part of our work today.
With IPS Grow transitioning from a fast‑growing initiative to a mature organisation with expanding reach and influence, we are now looking for an experienced Chief Operating Officer to join the IPS Grow and Social Finance Senior Leadership Team.
The COO will provide strategic leadership across IPS Grow’s operational infrastructure, ensuring the organisation has the systems, processes and capabilities required to deliver impact at scale. You will strengthen financial oversight, resource planning and risk management while helping develop IPS Grow’s data and digital capability. The role will also help shape the organisational structures and culture needed to support sustainable growth.
We are looking for a senior operational leader with experience in finance and the non-profit or publicly funded sectors, ideally with a track record of helping organisations scale. You will bring strong financial literacy, sound strategic judgement and the ability to build effective operational frameworks in complex environments.

About you
Are you a visionary leader in green finance, driven to shape nature markets that deliver nature’s recovery in the UK?
We’re looking for a senior leader in green finance and nature markets to drive the strategic development and delivery of all aspects of green finance across The Wildlife Trusts federation, ensuring our approach is ambitious, coherent, and aligned with our 2030 strategy - Bringing Nature Back.
Drawing on your strong business acumen, you will build a robust pipeline of commercial nature products to meet growing buyer demand, such as habitat banks for England’s Biodiversity Net Gain market, or nature-based carbon projects for the voluntary carbon market. An innovative problem-solver with an entrepreneurial spirit, you will help embed the systems, processes, and resources needed to strengthen our green finance capability, manage commercial risks, and improve efficiency across the federation.
It is essential that you have strong relationship-building and line management experience to grow our national Green Finance team, and establish new and long-lasting relationships with colleagues across the federation, external partners and stakeholders.
A core part of the role is to grow The Wildlife Trusts’ national function as a trusted broker for high integrity nature market products delivered by local Trusts. Using your strategic commercial skills, you will also lead the development of new opportunities for large scale investment, designing the mechanisms through which investment can be deployed and ensuring these approaches work for both national and local priorities.
You will champion innovation in green finance, supporting pioneering work in nationally significant landscapes, such as the Rothbury Estate, while helping position The Wildlife Trusts at the forefront of nature market development. Acting as a national thought leader, you will represent the organisation across the conservation, government, finance, and business sectors - advocating for the role of green finance in delivering transformational impact for nature.
