A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Finance Assistant with a community charity focussed on helping children and families, on a full-time, permanent basis. As Finance Assistant you will provide finance support to the charity and report to the Director of Operations.

Please note, there is hybrid working in place with this organisation.

As Finance Assistant, you will:

- Be responsible for all aspects of maintaining the purchase ledger

- Be responsible for all aspects of maintaining the sales ledger. Ensuring authorisation and coding of invoices in line with company coding structure

- Be responsible for the production of monthly financial reports

- Work with HR and the outsourced Payroll provider in preparing and processing the monthly payroll, management of PAYE and Pension Payments

- Work with the Director of Operations & Business Manager to prepare annual budgets

The successful applicant will:

- Have demonstrable experience in finance within the charity sector, in a similar role

- Hold an accounting qualification such as AAT or be part-qualified (ACCA, CIMA etc)

- Have experience of producing detailed financial and management reporting to highlight the current position and future risks

- Have excellent computer literacy, including MS Office, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams and Internet applications

- Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

The Community Leader (Director) leads the Community in living the mission of L’Arche in our community life, by providing outstanding, person-centred and financially sustainable care and support services, by support for shared community and spirituality, and by engagement with the wider community around us.

• Inspire and lead a diverse and talented community of over 100 individuals with and without learning disabilities -  people we support, employees, volunteers, long-term friends and members.
• Oversee and develop £2.5 million worth of registered care, supported living, and day services, ensuring compliance with CQC requirements, alignment with the L’Arche vision and values, and maintaining financial sustainability.
• Lead a team of 70 employees through strategic direction, effective processes and service delivery, and emotionally intelligent, collaborative, forward-thinking people management.
• Represent L’Arche London externally in fundraising efforts, outreach to build local partnerships, and participation in L’Arche UK leadership and governance forums.

• Assist with due diligence processes within the wider SEO team, specifically focusing on internal data security practices, response handling accuracy, and adherence to relevant regulatory requirements such as those for Gift Aid or the BACS scheme for Direct Debits 
• Proactively identify processes for improvement across the Supporter Experience & Operations Team to deliver efficiencies and improve the effectiveness of internal procedures 

• Support campaign managers and other colleagues with any new or existing projects relating to fundraising operations, working closely with internal stakeholders, ensuring requirements are clear and fully documented

Summary

Core Arts Mental Health Creative Charity are looking for a Personal Health Budgets Advisor  to join our expanding team.

This role will support the delivery of the personal health budget (PHB) brokerage service in East London, run by Core Arts. As part of the PHB team the successful candidate would support to provide a high quality, person- focused, efficient PHB brokerage service. The post-holder will be responsible for ensuring personalised support plans are processed by the brokerage service and the financial management is clearly explained and accessible to PHB holders and referrers. You will respond to PHB queries and manage a case load of PHB referrals, ensuring that they are processed efficiently. Your day-to-day work will be primarily desk based, liaising with mainly clinicians and sometimes budget holders to support the PHB process. You will support training and awareness delivery to teams and work with the team in developing increasing involvement with PHB holders.

The NHS long-term plan intends for personalised care to be ‘business as usual’ therefore opportunities for PHBs are increasing, this service works closely with mental health teams (ELFT) and the PHB lead.

Personal health budgets (PHBs) are a way of personalising care, based around what matters to people and their individual strengths and needs, and their recovery plans. It is an amount of money for a person to purchase an item, activity or package of care agreed between them and their health team. They give people more choice, control and flexibility over their support, allowing them to develop a package of care tailored to what will help them to be well and stay well. Personal health budgets allow for creativity and personalisation. The PHB team support processing requests so people can access the items or activities to support recovery goals.

Key responsibilities

• Process PHB referrals efficiently, ensuring requests are person-centred and recovery focussed outlining personalised recovery goals/ plans
• Offer support and guidance to clinicians on personalised support and how to make referrals to the PHB service- communication would be over the phone, email and online and in-person meetings.
• Deliver training in partnership with ELFT to clinicians about PHBs and how to make a referral and hold awareness sessions to raise the profile of PHBs.
• Ensure that the referral process is streamlined and each stage of a PHB is communicated to ensure responsive budgets to referrals.
• Monitor the online platform Patients Know Best (PKB) for any queries from budget holders about their PHB.
• Keep accurate and up to date records of PHBs on the case management system to support the PHB process and with evaluation.
• Work with finance team to ensure PHBs funds are released quickly and accurately, and risks are identified and managed appropriately.
• Collect case stories to raise the profile of PHBs and demonstrate the impact of the service.
• Work as a team to ensure all referrals are responded to and feedback around approval or process are communications effectively

The Head of Corporate Partnerships is a key leadership role within the Income and Engagement Directorate. Breaking Barriers’ relationship with corporate partners is the USP upon which our growth and success as an organisation has been built. The Head of Corporate Partnerships has accountability for generating income, impact and influence from the private sector, and for leading a high-performing team to achieve ambitious growth and scale for refugees around the UK.

As Breaking Barriers has grown from a start-up organisation to a now 60-strong team raising c. £4m and supporting more than 1,200 refugees annually, our corporate partnerships have expanded beyond our original London base to be nationwide partnerships with a wide range of businesses and employers. Our corporate partners have been crucial in enabling our growth and will be crucial to delivering upon the ambition of our 2030 goals. The Head of Corporate Partnerships is an essential role that will make this ambition a reality.

You will lead a team to deliver outstanding partnerships management of a range of strategic and multi-faceted relationships with a portfolio of c.50 businesses alongside leading strategy for business development. Purpose of the job 

The Head of Policy & Public Affairs is responsible for leading UK Youth’s influencing work with Westminster, devolved administrations, and local government. They will lead our advocacy for ambitious and actionable policies that will help unlock youth work for all young people. They will ensure that our policy recommendations are informed by the strongest available evidence, meaningful youth involvement, and the expertise of youth workers. Working closely with the Policy Manager and our Senior Leadership Team, they will develop strong relationships with external stakeholders within the youth sector and government to gain buy-in for our policy priorities.

RJ4All is looking for an innovative UK Operations Director who will drive impactful social justice projects and community initiatives while fostering strategic growth and income generation. You will oversee our dynamic UK-based operations out of the Rotherhithe Community Centre, work closely with the Director, and lead our Centre-based team. 

Restorative Justice for All (RJ4All) is a charitable, user-led international institute with expertise in preventing and addressing harm at the individual, community and inter-state levels. We are one of the world’s leading experts in transferring complex criminological and social justice concepts into practice through real-life pilots and community projects. 

The UK Operations Director will lead on the delivery, coordination, monitoring and evaluation of RJ4All’s UK-based services, and especially those run from the RJ4All Rotherhithe Community Centre. It is expected that they will generate income for the UK operations and contribute to new ideas for UK-based projects that fall within RJ4All’s agreed strategy. Finally, the post holder will act in place of the Director when they are unavailable or for any other agreed reason.

This post requires leadership and strong ethical commitment to RJ4All’s core values and vision, independence balanced against organisational priorities and focus. To this end, the postholder is expected to have excellent communication with the Director, and be able to participate in complex, high level discussions with the non-executive directors and other stakeholders about the future of RJ4All. Initiative, loyalty, and innovation are attributes that are highly valued at RJ4All. 

Key Tasks 

• Lead on the management of RJ4All’s UK Operations especially those run from the Rotherhithe Community Centre, ensuring its facilities meet government regulations and environmental, health and security standards. 

• To line manage the Community Project Coordinators and Officers, the Fitness team, administrators, finance support staff, interns and volunteers. 

• To lead on drafting applications for funding from government, trusts and foundations, donors and sponsors for UK programmes and services. 

• To lead on managing and delivering of all services running out of the Community Centre including the RJ4All Sports branch, Community Gym, YouthClubs+, Foodbank, and Community Library 

• To lead on creating and monitoring the UK Operations’ Theory of Change on annual basis, and review it against available data and individual projects’ Theory of Change. 

Qualifications 

Essential 

• Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences or related

• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience working in a relevant field such as equalities or crime prevention 

• Experience in non-profit, CIC, or small business environment

• Experience in managing paid and volunteering personnel

• Demonstrated experience in fundraising 

• Experience in writing and monitoring budgets 

• Strong written and verbal communication, including the ability to contribute to decision-making and planning 

• Willingness to learn and develop as a leader, inspire others and self, motivate and set own priorities 

Desirable 

• Master's Degree in Social Sciences or related 

• Certified trainings in restorative justice and other relevant areas 

• Knowledge of the HMRC and UK tax regulations and best practices

To develop and manage your own portfolio of existing trusts, community and individual donors, and research and prioritise new opportunities ensuring high quality stewardship to secure ongoing support. Responsibilities  

Trust Fundraising  

• Develop, manage, and maintain a trust fundraising portfolio with a clear, scheduled pipeline of funding applications, coordinating opportunities and team resources to meet targets. 

• Cultivate strong working relationships with current and new trust and foundations, proactively seeking meetings. 

• Collaborate with colleagues to create compelling proposals and reports. 

• Work with monitoring and finance colleagues to inform impact and budgetary needs, ensuring timely reporting to donors in line with their grant conditions. 

• Build resilient, long-term relationships with identified supporters, keeping them well-informed about events, campaigns, projects, and the charity itself, to foster a strong sense of belonging to Village Water. 

• Use multiple research methods and communication channels to build and manage a prospective donor pipeline. 

• Research and write applications to grant-making trusts, targeting an amount in line with Village Water's annual budget, with an emphasis on securing unrestricted funds where possible. 

• Maintain legacy communications and promote legacy options to our long-standing supporters. 

• Ensure all information on your portfolio of donors is well stewarded, recorded, and actioned in Village Water's database.

• Work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, external suppliers, and local partners to advance organisational goals. 

• Attend networking events and build relationships that benefit Village Water. 

• Participate in and report during weekly team meetings and, when necessary, at Trustee meetings.
