Job Purpose
Oceana is seeking an experienced Development Lead to curate, grow and diversify our rapidly expanding fundraising and partnerships portfolio. Working closely with our UK team and US-based international development team, you will be responsible for the collaborative stewardship of relationships with some of the world’s biggest environmental foundations and philanthropists.
You will help identify and drive new relationships, managing successful grant applications with trusts and foundations in the UK, and cultivating new fundraising streams. You will have a strategic mindset along with a meticulous attention to detail. Fostering exemplary relationships with diverse partners is central to the role and critical to our success. You should be experienced in handling competing priorities, delivering exceptional funding applications and reports, and providing updates with precision and confidence. You will also have a passion for growing and diversifying income streams and converting new interest into long-term, sustainable, support.
Reporting to the Director of Finance and People, you will work closely with our teams, and the global development department, to secure the sustainable resources Oceana UK needs to deliver further impact at this crucial time for our ocean. The role will also help Oceana maximise opportunities to deliver policy victories for UK seas for many years to come and strengthen our work globally.
You will be a self-starter, with a broad range of previous experience, and the ability to develop and manage your priorities in this new role. You will be comfortable working independently and as part of a small team. The position will be hybrid, with 2 days per week from home and 3 days per week based in Oceana’s office in Paddington, London or in Newquay, Cornwall. Occasional travel will be required to meet team members and stakeholders in geographically diverse locations.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the development of a UK specific fundraising strategy.
- Manage relationships and reporting to existing funders alongside the international development team and Executive Director. This will primarily be with trusts and foundations, and individual philanthropists.
- Identify and develop new opportunities with trusts and foundations.
- Manage successful grant applications and budgets, co-ordinating and collaborating with the international development team.
- Work closely with the finance and campaigns team to ensure all relevant stakeholders are consulted in grant applications and reporting.
- Manage and deliver timely reporting, communications and updates to funding partners and stakeholders.
- Oversee and develop other existing UK income streams, including mass giving.
- Identify, develop and manage additional UK income opportunities, including with smaller trusts and foundations.
- Collaborate with the Director of Finance and People, and international development and budgeting teams to manage the income forecast and grant financial reporting.
- Maintain appropriate development records and database for all UK activity.
- Develop and manage key fundraising and partnerships events.
- Work with Executive Director to develop our outreach with funders at international events.
- Attend and represent the UK in monthly development meetings with the international team.
- Design and manage the UK’s development budget.
Candidate Requirements:
Education and work experience:
- Extensive professional experience in fundraising and development, ideally in the ocean or the environmental space.
- Good professional relationships with environmental trusts and foundations
- Demonstrable experience in managing successful multi-year grant applications and budgets with trusts and foundations.
- Strong experience of managing charitable foundation relationships and delivering detailed and timely reports, and communications to add value where required.
- Experience or working with campaigns teams to develop funding applications.
- Experience of managing philanthropist and major individual donors.
- Experience in prospecting, managing and analysing research on fundraising opportunities.
- Experience in co-developing and diversifying fundraising strategies (mass giving, digital, appeals, etc)
- Clear experience of in co-developing and diversifying fundraising strategies, and writing strategic plans, and contributing to planning and budgeting processes.

Role Purpose:
The role of the Commercial Programmer is responsible for the creative programming and delivery of a commercial public events programme through public commercial events and private venue hire to grow our income, visitor numbers and opportunities.

This role will support the development and delivery of key areas which are essential to our success:
Commercial public events and partnerships support the Commercial Events department to create a year-round plan of commercial public events which engage existing and new visitors and grow income.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Commercial Events programming and delivery
- To research, programme, and deliver a regular annual public programme at the Old Royal Naval College, incorporating seasonal events and event programmes related to art installations or exhibitions.
- To support the development of the Commercial Public Events programme in line with the Commercial Events Strategy as defined by the Commercial Manager.
- Generate income and profile through a range of commercial partnerships, ticketed events, and new ventures to build financial resilience of the organisation.
- Programming unique and innovative special events, working alongside site partners to deliver a collaborative programme of commercial events.
- To use bench-marking research and consistent formative evaluation to keep the public programme relevant and successful.

About the role:
The Head of Centre Operations is responsible for delivering the Trust’s strategic aims through a team of over ninety employees, as well as a significant number of volunteers across the organisations five rescue and re-homing centres and remote supporter groups.
This is a ‘hands-on’ role, the Head of Operations will plan, lead and consistently deliver in the charity’s rescue, rehoming and preventative work; maintaining high standards of animal welfare and customer service at all times.

Facing the Future is a Samaritans service offering peer support groups to people bereaved by suicide. Since transferring the groups online in February 2021, we have supported over 800 people who have experienced loss by suicide. The team of facilitators has grown in that time from 15 to nearly 100 from all over the UK and Ireland. To help us move forward, we are looking for an empathetic individual strong on attention to detail and IT skills to be our Administrator. This role is designed to give operational support to the service, the volunteer leadership team and to our volunteer Facilitators and Supervisors as we work together to deliver our mission that no-one should have to face this isolating bereavement alone.
The responsibilities of the role are many and varied and will suit someone who is comfortable with managing a variety of tasks simultaneously. Responsibilities include managing our confidential databases, and the processes involved in setting up groups for those people on our waiting list, managing communications to group participants and to Facilitators, and supporting our training programme .
This is a part time remote working role with support from the team at Central London Samaritans.
The successful candidate will be a good communicator who is highly organised and remains calm under pressure. Importantly they should be able to manage change as we will be transferring our current systems over to Salesforce. Good listening skills are essential.

The Role
Global Greengrants Fund UK is looking to hire an energetic and passionate individual who will play a key role in collaborating across teams to support finance and grantmaking. They are responsible for the smooth running of all transactional processes for grants, payments, reconciliations, and financial reporting. They will also lead on any applicable system enhancements thus offering a critical and wide-ranging systems support role for the grantmaking charity. They demonstrate knowledge and experience in charity/nonprofit grant accounting/financial issues and dealing with both financial and grant information and processes, understand accounting principles, and have knowledge of accounting, grantmaking, and budgeting processes. They have cash management, banking, and payment experiences. They demonstrate excellent administrative and organisational skills, and the ability to ensure the accuracy of work and demonstrate precise attention to detail. They will have the skills to give, receive, and work with feedback constructively. They also thrive in a virtual environment, motivated to take on challenges and collaboratively find innovative and creative solutions. Multiple language skills would be ideal, while English fluency is a must.

We are seeking a motivated business manager who is committed to improving health outcomes for children and young people and reducing health inequalities. The successful candidate will provide exceptional organisational, financial, & business support to continue to grow the organisation.
SAPHNA is a professional organisation and charity established in 2006. We are the voice of school and public health nurses across the UK, and the Crown Dependencies. Our mission is to achieve equality and excellence in school nursing practice leading to improved health outcomes and reduce health inequalities for all school aged children, young people and their families and communities.
We strive to take forward the Public Health agenda by working in partnerships to influence health, care policy, and support the workforce, for the benefit of children and young people and the communities where they live and learn.
The initial contract is 12 months fixed term with a view to extension. There will be a 3 month probational period.
24 hours per week, £33,000-35,000 pa, pro rata and depending on experience. Pension included.
The role is home based with ability and willingness to travel across UK when required. Flexible working hours to be agreed and to meet the needs of the organisation. Holiday allowance is 25 days per annum pro rata plus bank holidays.
Main Responsiblities:
- Supporting the Professional Officer in managing finance, human resources, risk management, quality, operational change, board activities and business planning for the organisation.
- Providing programme management support for SAPHNA bidding, budget, invoicing, and contract management processes.
- To support the development and delivery of SAPHNA business planning and prioritisation, including horizon scanning and creating business cases and new opportunities for income generation.
- To support the Professional Officer in ensuring all the organisations charitable obligations are met.
- To support the Professional Officer and SAPHNA team as required in any other related work- streams.
- Line manage the administrator assistant and have organisation oversight and governance responsibilities of the office based processes.
The SAPHNA is an expanding and evolving organisation, as such the job description and person specification will be reviewed on an ongoing basis in accordance with the evolving needs of the wider team.

The Committee meets in-person (London Office) four times a year. The remaining meetings scheduled for 2024 (10.00am – 3.00pm) are:

About Women in Prison
Women in Prison is a national, women-led, feminist organisation. We deliver front line support to women harmed by the criminal justice system, through our work in prisons, in the community and ‘through the prison gate’ as they resettle back into their communities. We also campaign for systems change that addresses the root causes of offending, reduces the harmful impact of prison, and creates workable, community-based alternatives to imprisonment.
Job Purpose:
You will be joining Women in Prison’s new fundraising team which secures funding from a range of sources including individual donors, corporate supporters, and charitable trusts and foundations. We are looking for someone who can work flexibly to support the administrative and operational needs across different areas in the team including major donor giving, individual giving, trusts and foundations and legacy giving.
Day to day tasks will include managing the fundraising team’s administration function, carrying out prospect research, thanking donors and donation tracking, and providing support for various fundraising activities such as supporter/cultivation events. You will also build productive relationships with individual supporters and organisations through the delivery of exceptional supporter care.

Key Responsibilities
National Growth

- Engage with thinking around the intersection between social impact, employability and the church to ensure we are at the cutting edge within the sector, developing an understanding of local needs and challenges and how Resurgo can best inspire and equip partners to catalyse sustainable and impactful social change.
- Work with wider leadership team to understand and fine tune barriers to growth, including considering recruitment and operations support needed by partner churches, and funding avenues and the operation of the seed fund, which provides start-up funding to churches in the early years of launching a Spear centre.
Pipeline Development
- Identify, build, and develop relationships with potential partners through networking at Christian conferences and running our own events, identifying and introducing our work to key networks, and offering relevant coaching sessions as a means for churches to understand Resurgo’s coaching, employability and impact management.
- Introduce potential and existing partner churches to the Spear programme as a means of creating sustainable social impact in their community, particularly with young people, and provide opportunities for them to engage with the programme with a view to considering launching a centre in their own community where this is a good fit.
- Build a pipeline of potential Spear partners, and steward these relationships from the point of introduction, through to confirmation of programme launch, reporting to the Senior Leadership team against monthly KPIs and annual growth targets.
- Work closely with the Impact team and Director of External Relations to consider the ‘client’ journey of a church from point of initial interest to uptake of one of our programmes
New Centre Set-up and Implementation
- Oversee a team who project manage the launch of new Spear centres in partnership with local churches, including overseeing all
practical and operational aspects of the centre setup, recruiting new coaches, and ensuring required policies and systems
are in place.

Cancer52 is a national organisation, created in 2007 by Professor Sir Mike Richards, CBE, then National Clinical Director for Cancer, and registered as a charity in England and Wales in September 2017.
We are an exceptional organisation, providing one voice for all those affected by rare and less common cancers. Historically, these cancers have been underrepresented and under-funded. Today, they represent 47% of people diagnosed with cancer, but 55% of all cancer deaths – a hidden majority. Cancer52’s aim is to change this by taking the collective voice of our members to those who influence cancer policy, research, services and treatment.
Cancer52 is recognised for its strong convening role, bringing together our 115 member charities with organisations in industry, government, the NHS and other stakeholders to address the inequalities faced by patients with rare and less common cancers. Our reputation is strong and we are in a unique position to provide a common voice for these underrepresented cancers. The figures for people with these cancers are challenging and there is much work to do.
After a hugely successful tenure during which Cancer52’s size and influence has grown dramatically, our current CEO is retiring from full time work in July. The Board of Trustees is now seeking to appoint a successor to build on the successes and achievements of recent years.
To be our next Chief Executive, you will be a talented leader, able to motivate and empower others and develop strong internal and external stakeholder relationships. You will also be an inspiring and authentic individual who is passionate, confident and engaging as the key spokesperson of the organisation and a representative of the diverse Cancer52 membership.
You will be capable of influencing decisions at senior levels of government, in the NHS and in partner organisations operating in the fields of cancer research, prevention, diagnosis and treatment. As our Chief Executive, your role is to be a key proponent of the campaigning and influencing drive of the charity, setting the overall strategy and vision for the organisation.
In addition to the core management competencies required, the role requires demonstrable leadership which will inspire others, along with a comprehensive understanding of Cancer52’s purpose and the problems faced by those charities and organisations representing the rare and less common cancer communities.
Effective networking will be a key skill set, and will enable you to actively seek out, engage and establish productive relationships with political decision makers, NHS leadership and charity CEOs to further our goals. Your approach will be collaborative, motivating stakeholders to engage with our work.

About the role
The Treasury Manager plays a critical role in supporting Christian Aid to create a world where everyone can live a full life, free from poverty by overseeing all cash flows, ensuring the proper management of funds, and optimising financial returns. With responsibility for approximately £90 million in cash flows, this role is pivotal in safeguarding our financial resources and enabling our programs to make a real difference in the 37 countries we work.
About you
You will be a fast learner, inquisitive and able to understand the requirements of Christian Aid and apply them into a complex global financial setting. Acting as Christian Aid's subject matter expert on use of alternative transfer systems, staying up to date with published guidance, and emerging practices within the sector, advising and guiding senior management in this area. You will hold a professional accounting or banking qualification and have significant experience in a finance treasury role with banking relations
