Fuel Bank – Triage Support Advisor
Location – Remote based role with occasional travel to the Midlands for team meetings & training.
Hours – Part & Full Time Positions. F/T – 37.5 hours Monday to Friday. P/T 18.5 hours flexible Monday to Friday to suit the needs of the charity and individual’s work life balance.

Fuel Bank Foundation is the only UK charity to focus on the challenges of people living in fuel crisis. We provide emergency financial support through our network of partners who identify people who cannot afford to pre-pay for their energy.
As Triage Support Adviser at Fuel Bank Foundation, you will be the first point of contact for beneficiaries, partners, or referral agencies seeking assistance. Your primary responsibility will be to assess needs, gather essential information, and direct each query to the appropriate team or resource. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring that those in need receive timely and accurate support, helping maintain smooth day-to-day operations within the Foundation’s support services.
Key Responsibilities
Initial Contact & Needs Assessment
- Inbound Enquiries: Respond to incoming calls, emails, or online requests, providing a welcoming and empathetic first point of contact.
- Information Gathering: Ask relevant questions to understand the nature of each enquiry—whether a client needs immediate fuel assistance, advice, or referral to another service.
- Basic Eligibility Checks: Perform preliminary assessments to confirm a caller’s eligibility or direct them to the right partner agencies.
Triage & Referral
- Case Prioritisation: Quickly identify urgent cases (e.g., no heating supply, extreme vulnerability) and escalate them as needed to senior colleagues or specialized services.
- Routing Calls/Emails: Forward complex queries or those requiring in-depth guidance to the appropriate department (e.g., Customer Support, Policy & Impact, Finance for voucher-related questions).
- Follow-Up Coordination: Log essential details for each interaction, ensuring smooth handovers and timely follow-up by the relevant team member.
Data Entry & Record Keeping
- Database Management: Accurately input beneficiary information into the Foundation’s CRM or case-management system, maintaining up-to-date records in line with data protection policies.
- Documentation: Keep clear notes on calls, emails, and web form submissions, tagging them with relevant categories (e.g., urgent, general enquiry, advice request).
- Reporting: Support team leads by generating basic reports or summaries on enquiry volumes, types of requests, or common issues.
Communication & Collaboration
- Liaise with Colleagues: Update other teams or managers about trends in call types or emerging issues that might require policy changes or additional resources.
- Team Support: Assist in scheduling, task delegation, or administrative tasks when needed, contributing to a well-coordinated triage function.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Occasionally interact with partner organisations, local agencies, or other charities to exchange referral information or confirm assistance protocols.

About Child’s i Foundation
Child’s i Foundation is a small but mighty social impact organisation that started in Uganda and now has a growing global footprint. We work with communities, caregivers, and individuals with lived experience to co-create and scale sustainable alternatives to institutional care. Purpose of the Role
The Business Development Lead will play a critical role in driving the financial sustainability of Child’s i Foundation. This person will lead efforts to secure new income, grow existing partnerships, and strengthen supporter engagement. This role combines strategy and execution and is ideal for someone with a passion for social justice, a flair for building relationships, and experience in both fundraising and donor communications. The role will report into our Chief Executive Officer.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Income Generation
- Develop and execute the fundraising and income generation strategy across diverse streams including:

Supporter Engagement & Communications
- Oversee supporter care and stewardship, ensuring timely acknowledgements and meaningful engagement.

- Guide the comms team to develop compelling supporter journeys and storytelling that reflect the voices of communities we work with.
- Oversee the development of newsletters and donor communications that build long-term loyalty.
Operational Fundraising Management
- Oversee donation processing, database management, and tracking of fundraising KPIs.
- Coordinate with UK and Uganda teams to align messaging, campaigns, and compliance.
- Provide strategic oversight of volunteer-led and community fundraising initiatives.
Team Collaboration & Leadership
- Line manage junior fundraising support if applicable.
- Work collaboratively with programme, comms, finance, and impact teams to ensure donor requirements are met and learning is shared.
- Contribute to organisational learning on ethical fundraising, locally-led development, and shifting power to communities.
Person Specification
Essential
- Proven experience in business development and fundraising (minimum 3 years), ideally in the social impact or NGO sector.
- Track record of securing income from trusts, foundations, or major donors.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives.
- Strong relationship-building skills, from individual supporters to institutional donors.
- Organised, proactive, and adaptable, able to juggle multiple priorities in a small, fast-moving team.
- Commitment to Child’s i’s values and vision, and to ethical fundraising grounded in dignity and equity.

About the role:
As in Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) you will support victims of domestic abuse who primarily live in Luton. This role will be part of our other wider specialist services covering Bedfordshire.
As an IDVA you will be:
- Providing a high quality support and advocacy service to victims of domestic abuse.
- Managing a caseload; identifying and assessing risks and needs, providing a tailored crisis intervention service trough individual safety planning, advocacy, emotional and practical support.
- Working with other agencies and advocating on behalf of service users in order to help them access services to keep them safe.
- Working within a multi-agency framework consisting of partners as well as MARAC and other local partnerships to offer a coordinated response to domestic abuse.
- Promoting the service and raise awareness of domestic abuse through the delivery of training
- Supporting the Daily Domestic Abuse meeting in the IFD (Integrated Front Door), which discusses all
You will need:
- Experience of working in support and advocacy with victims of domestic abuse
- To be able to prioritise work and deal with competing or conflicting demands/needs and interests and promote organisation interests and values.
- To ideally hold a SafeLives IDVA accreditation, relevant degree, vocational qualification or relevant experience of delivering a service and working with domestic abuse victim's/service users in a statutory, voluntary or community work setting.

Grant Fundraising Support:
• Work with the Selce community (the board, staff, volunteers and other stakeholders) to generate new project ideas that support our strategic mission
• Research and identify potential grant-making trusts, foundations, and statutory bodies that will fund project proposals
• Prepare high-quality grant applications; this includes calculating budget requirements, formulating proposals, writing proposals
• Manage the grant administration process and maintain accurate records of funding opportunities and applications in the fundraising calendar.
Commissioned Work & Tendering Support:

As Trust and Foundation Fundraiser, you will devise and lead a trust and foundation fundraising strategy in order to achieve set goals and financial targets. You will oversee the writing of applications for both core funding and new capital and revenue projects, ensuring the cases for support are strong and compelling. You will aim to improve their new trust acquisition and maintain their retention of existing trust and foundation supporters. You will also assist with small major donor cultivation events with the support of the Donor Relations Officer and Development Director and other senior Hospice staff to maximise impact.

About the job
We're looking for three Communities Development Coordinators to support, develop and grow student-led societies, sports clubs and other communities at Arts SU. This role is all about helping students get involved, whether that's through joining a student group, planning and running events or stepping up as a student leader. You'll be the first point of contact for over 100 student groups, providing tailored support, training and advice to help them thrive. From processing finance requests and booking spaces to helping deliver key events like Welcome Fair, Varsity, and Awards, you'll make sure students and colleagues have what they need to succeed. You'll oversee student group elections, manage the promotion of opportunities, and work with colleagues across UAL to create inclusive spaces where students are welcomed and engaged.
Who we are looking for
We want someone organised, approachable, and loves working with students. You should have experience planning and delivering events or projects, and ideally some knowledge of community development in education or the third sector. Good communication skills are key - you'll be supporting a wider range of student leaders and need to explain processes in simple accessible ways. You'll also need to be confident working with budgets and able to manage competing priorities. Flexibility and a positive, problem solving attitude are essential, as you'll often be working on multiple tasks or helping students troubleshoot challenges. More importantly, you'll be someone who values inclusivity, enjoys collaborating with colleagues and students, and doesn't mind working the occasional evening or weekend when big events are happening.
