About the role:

The Advice Service Manager is responsible for all advice team operations and developing the Kinship advice pathway.

You’ll manage a team to deliver a consistent, high quality and effective service. You’ll be responsible for developing and implementing systems and monitoring service quality and performance.

Continuously improving the service, embracing digital solutions and creating efficiencies and processes to drive performance, you’ll increase our ability to provide more support to kinship carers across England and Wales.

You’ll ensure that kinship carers are able to access the information and advice they need in an accessible and consistent way within a clear operational framework.

Key responsibilities include:

• Deliver high quality, targeted and tailored advice to kinship carers in England and Wales.
• Develop a service framework that delivers a consistent service within clear timeframes.
• Set out clear expectations for enquiry response across all channels.
• Manage daily advice line operations, including work on cases, data and continuous improvement.
• Act as deputy designated safeguarding officer (DDSO) providing clear advice on actions needed when safeguarding concerns are raised.
• Develop and manage a high performing team.

Essential criteria includes:

• Substantial working knowledge of advice service delivery frameworks.
• Working knowledge of call handling and client record systems.
• Working knowledge of assessing the needs of individuals (e.g. social care, financial and legal) to provide appropriate advice and information.

Home based within South West England. Frequent travel to food banks around region, and some travel to staff conferences, 121’s and team away days

The Network Lead plays a central role in helping us achieve our vision to end the need for food banks in the UK. This is a varied, proactive and fast-paced role that involves representing the Trussell Trust on policy and public affairs and key stakeholder relationships in South West, the leadership of a dynamic team of area managers that supports the network of food banks in the South West to deliver emergency food, and the coordination of projects and partnerships to support the food banks in our network to reduce the need for their services locally. 

Role responsibilities 

• Strategic Leadership: Manage the delivery of food bank operations in the nation and key strategic projects that are part of the Trussell Trust’s five-year strategy to end the need for food banks.

• Projects and partnerships: Build partnerships and develop projects with organisations to develop and build services and systems that help end the need for food banks.

• Policy, public affairs and church engagement: Engage with a wide range of external bodies, including national government, elected representatives, faith and community organisations, and research bodies. Ensure that local churches (including church leaders) feel connected and understand the importance of ending the need for food banks in local communities. 

• Team Leadership: Provide leadership, support, coaching, development, and line management to the area managers. Provide support, advice and guidance to Trussell Trust project leads as appropriate to ensure they understand the policy and public affairs context for delivering their work in the nation e.g. Pathfinder and Financial Inclusion team 

• Risk Management: Ensure consistent quality assurance of food banks across the nation , in line with the risk framework and support area managers to deal with complaints and manage food banks with high risks. 
   

• Cross-organisational working: Act as a liaison between the area team, the wider operations team, and other directorates, managing the flow of ideas and feedback to positive effect.

Technical skills and minimum knowledge: 

• Confidently represent the Trussell Trust with a range of stakeholders, including elected representatives, and effectively manage the roll-out of the organisational strategy in the /nation.

Head of Finance

To help us with this important mission, we currently have a vacancy for a Head of Finance who will be able to use their professional experience and accountancy qualification to help us transform lives and strengthen communities through grassroots football.

The role

As our Head of Finance, reporting into the CFO, you’ll lead the finance team, ensuring robust financial management and sustainability to support our charitable objectives. You will direct the day-to-day operations of the finance team, actively manage financial planning and forecasting, and develop high level models to support strategic and operational decision making. You will also input into strategy on a functional and organisational level. 

What are we looking for?

You don’t need to follow football or understand about football and sports facilities to apply, but it is expected that you appreciate the power of sport to change lives and have a genuine interest in using your skills and experience to help the Foundation achieve our charitable and strategic objectives.

Here’s some of the experience and expertise you’ll need for the role:

· A professional accountancy qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with significant post-qualified financial and operational management experience.

· Prior experience in a senior level finance role with responsibility across the entire finance function, including hands on experience in delivering business partnering.

· Significant experience of financial planning and analysis.

· Commercial or charity accounting experience, including the preparation of statutory accounts, and preferably SORP compliance.

· Experience leading an end-to-end external audit process.

· Familiarity developing, improving and implementing financial procedures and controls.

You’ll also have good knowledge of the legislative, tax and regulatory framework of companies, ideally in the not-for-profit sector. Most of all we want someone who reflects who we are as an organisation.

We are looking for an experienced institutional funding expert to lead and manage a busy portfolio. This is a role in which the successful candidate will need to juggle multiple and complex projects. Key duties will include:

• Leading the development and implementation of a portfolio of work within the institutional funding team (IFT) currently focused on West Africa (17 Anglophone, Francophone and Lusophone countries), and lead on the development of strategic partnerships with individual institutional donors as prioritised.

This role is involved and multi-faceted with regular meetings across the organisation. This is a full-time role that may be worked from home for the majority of the time however some visits to our offices in Haywards Heath, West Sussex (RH16 3BW) will be required. If you prefer to work from or are visiting our collaborative, modern office space, you will find it an easy 20-minute train journey from Brighton or 45 minutes from London. This role sits in the Forest IQ team, along with a Research Associate, a Project Manager and the Forest IQ Lead. The Researcher will take on responsibility for the development and maintenance of the Forest IQ data held in its database, including the implementation of updates and ensuring the smooth addition of new datasets and indicators.  Alongside other research responsibilities required of the role, you will draw insights from this research which inform Global Canopy’s work and provide content for communication products and engagement strategies.

Job Purpose

BSR events are a key benefit to members and the wider rheumatology community, offering the very latest in science, innovation, research and cases. 

Our events team deliver the award-winning Annual Conference (Manchester 28-30 April 2025) in a hybrid format to c2000 delegates, plus our Case-based conference (Leeds 5-6 Nov, in-person c300 delegates) as well as a programme of celebratory awards. 

The Events Executive works alongside the Events Manager, Digital Events Manager and Head of Events to deliver our events. Working on a range of areas from registration, logistics, being the main point of contact for delegates and liaising with venues and suppliers. This is an exciting role for someone looking to get more exposure to different areas of events and liaise with multiple stakeholders.

Main responsibilities

Event coordination

• Coordinate the registration management process for BSR conferences, including: arranging our registration services, data management and reporting.
• Manage the events inbox, being the main point of contact for delegates for all queries.
• To coordinate networking sessions and taster workshops within annual conference.
• Organise logistical elements including award prizes, abstract poster submissions and processes, arranging site visits, accommodation, travel arrangements and expenses.
• Manage CPD accreditation of events and activities.
• Provide content for webpages and emails to keep delegates informed.
• Input into our event budgets by monitoring progress and providing financial reporting and reconciliation against income and expenditure.

General

• Be a core member of the events team by attending and inputting into all planning meetings, venue site visits and delivery of events onsite.
• Identify and contribute ideas on how to improve processes and ways of working.

Please note: This role will require travel, overnight stays and weekend work, for example at our conferences (6 day stay). As we are a small team you’ll have the opportunity to get involved in cross-departmental projects, lead or contribute to agile sprint working and support wider business needs. There are other opportunities to get involved with our staff forum or peer group meetings.
