About the Role:

The Trust Fundraising Intern will work in collaboration with the Senior Trust and Foundations Manager to be responsible for securing critical funding that sustains our life-changing programs worldwide. As part of your internship, you’ll have the chance to contribute meaningfully to fundraising efforts, gaining hands-on experience in trust fundraising and developing skills that will help you kick-start your career in the charity sector.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Portfolio Support

• Assist in managing a portfolio of trust and foundation supporters, focusing on smaller funders to build relationships and secure gifts.
• Support the Senior Trusts and Foundations Manager in maintaining accurate and up-to-date donor records on the CRM database.
• Help with stewardship activities, including preparing thank-you communications, reports, and updates to funders.

2. Research and Prospect Development

• Conduct research into new funding prospects and support the development of bespoke, compelling proposals tailored to potential donors.
• Track emerging trends in trust and foundation fundraising to identify growth opportunities.

3. Proposal and Report Writing

• Assist in drafting high-quality communications such as funding proposals, applications and impact reports that reflect our projects and inspire support.
• Collaborate with colleagues to gather relevant information for use in proposals and stewardship materials.

4. Administrative Support

• Support the team’s transition to a new CRM system, ensuring trust and foundation data is accurately maintained.
• Help manage the team’s administrative processes, including monitoring deadlines for applications and reporting.

Work Location/Hybrid Working Pattern:

This role will be based at our Head Office in central London. Mothers’ Union operates a hybrid working model. Staff are required to work an aggregate minimum of 90 days per calendar year (pro rata for part timers) at our Head Office, Mary Sumner House in central London. Tuesdays are our anchor days where every staff member is expected to be at the office. The 90 days includes anchor Tuesdays. In addition, Thursday is a core working day where part time staff are expected to work, either at home or from the office as needed.

These are innovative roles to develop social prescribing in the local NHS. Based in one of the six Primary Care Networks (PCN) you will work in different GP practices across that Network to deliver their specific priorities. You will join a team of ten Social Prescribing Link Workers working in Haringey PCNs and be part of a wider community-based Borough team which offers information, signposting and short-term support across the eight localities in Haringey.

Social prescribing empowers people to take control of their health and wellbeing through referral to non-medical Social Prescribing Link Workers, who give time, focus on ‘what matters to me’ and take a holistic approach, connecting people to community groups and statutory services for practical and emotional support.

Social prescribing can help to strengthen community resilience and personal resilience and reduces health inequalities by addressing the wider determinants of health, such as debt, poor housing and physical inactivity, by increasing people’s active involvement with their local communities. At the centre of the social prescribing process is the Social Prescribing Link Worker, working with GP Practices in a Primary Care Network, who connects patients who are referred to a range of activities and services in the local area depending on their needs, interests and capacity for engagement. This is a complex role as the SPLW will need to have good interpersonal skills to engage with the patient and have a comprehensive knowledge of the services and activities available in the local area.

Blue Cross animal hospitals and pet care clinics provide veterinary treatment to sick and injured pets when their owners can’t afford private veterinary fees. Our vet care is available to pets whose owners receive certain means-tested benefits and live within the catchment area of one of our animal hospitals or pet care clinics.  

We have developed an award-winning set of clinical guidelines to assist our vets in pragmatic, evidence-based decision making, where patient welfare is a priority. About you

As a Veterinary Nurse, you will be confident and capable in delivering excellent nursing care for a range of small animals, providing both emergency and routine healthcare. Our Veterinary Nurses work alongside Veterinary Surgeons to promote animal health and welfare through responsible ownership and play a key role in the education of pet owners. 

The ability to work as part of a team and effective communication skills are really important, often you will be the first point of our clients, forming strong bonds with them to ensure improved animal health and welfare.

About the role 

As Digital Fundraising Executive, you will manage specific digital campaigns to drive supporter acquisition, engagement, retention and income. You will play an important role in ensuring we provide the best possible online experiences for supporters, and that our content and journeys are as effective and engaging as they can be.

Contract 

This role is available full-time (35 hours per week, Monday – Friday) with some flexibility around hours worked, or part-time (at least 28 hours per week). You will work remotely or a hybrid of remote and working in our collaborative, modern office space in Haywards Heath, which is open Tuesday – Thursday and is a short train journey from Brighton, or a 45-minute train journey from London. You will be expected to attend the office for monthly team meetings and there may be a small amount of other ad-hoc travel within the UK.  

Responsibilities 

• Managing digital fundraising projects, working closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure smooth execution, timely delivery, and alignment with objectives and budget.
• Oversee digital fundraising projects, to ensure they meet objectives, remain within budget, and achieve set targets
• Collaborate with fundraising teams to integrate digital content and messaging into offline campaigns
• Oversee the full lifecycle of email campaigns, including planning, execution, analysis, and reporting
• Develop engaging onboarding experiences for new supporters to encourage long-term engagement
• Support the Digital Manager in expanding international fundraising through a range of digital channels
• Monitor the performance of digital fundraising activities, updating plans and implementing improvements where necessary
• Contribute to A/B and multivariate testing to enhance the effectiveness of digital campaigns
• Ensure campaign activities are streamlined and optimised for international audiences
• Assist the Digital Managers and Head of Digital Fundraising with additional projects as required

Skills 

 Essential:  

• Proven experience in managing digital fundraising projects with timely delivery, adherence to briefs and budgets, and effective results reporting.  
• Experience and understanding of key digital marketing or fundraising platforms and disciplines - such as content management systems, email marketing, social media platforms, search and display advertising and ideally experience with GA4. 
• Excellent writing skills, with experience in writing strong fundraising copywriting.
• Competence in data analysis, reporting, and tracking progress against KPIs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging both technical and non-technical audiences.  
• Project management skills involving coordination with multiple teams and external agencies to achieve organisational goals.

Desirable:  

• Experience in international fundraising.  
• Understanding of various individual-giving fundraising disciplines, such as mailings, inserts, and TV advertising.  
• Experience in orchestrating virtual mass participation events.  
• Strong editing and proofreading abilities.  
• Research skills to identify new digital and fundraising opportunities.

Job Summary
The Finance Business Partner in Volunteering is responsible for providing the first line of support and assistance with the development of financial plans, analysis of the financial performance and forecasts of the Adult Volunteering area, in order to provide high quality business insight to both support and influence strategic decision making by St John’s management teams. They will be a key member of the Financial Planning and Insight team to ensure delivery of the annual three-year budgeting process, that is aligned to strategic operational plans. About You

You can demonstrate previous experience in a finance business partner role with a track record of supporting the end-to-end processes for in-year forecasts and annual budgets and three-year plans that are aligned to business strategy. You have significant experience in managing the day-to-day, monthly and annual production of management accounting processes. • Drive continuous customer experience improvement by simplifying and improving St John’s financial processes, to provide your collective internal and external customers, an efficient and effective finance experience
• Utilise technology and tools to continuously improve the presentation and content of the charity’s financial management reports to best support and meet the needs of Budget Holders, the Senior Management and Executive Teams
• Provide clear and understandable narrative to stakeholders and the rest of the team, advocating good accounting principles and helping to educate, inform and develop others within the wider finance team
• Identify financial risks and ensure that adequate measures and controls are in place for them to controlled and managed, or escalated where necessary
• Identify and implement cost and efficiency savings, where applicable and appropriate, without compromising the quality of the service and accuracy of the reporting.
• Work with operational business partners to provide the financial analysis and appraisal for business cases, including cost/benefit of capex investment projects, and support the preparation and submission of business cases to Executive Teams for approval

We are working in partnership with Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust to deliver the Bromley Mental Health and Wellbeing Hub (BMHWH), as part of the ongoing transformation of mental health services in the London Borough of Bromley under the NHS Long Term Plan. The service integrates the expertise of local primary, secondary, and voluntary sector providers to offer flexible, holistic and person-centred support for adults experiencing mental health difficulties.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Advisor to join the BMHWH team. Working within the Information, Advice and Guidance and Tailored Wellbeing pathways, this role offers the chance to make a direct impact on individuals’ recovery journeys by providing timely, personalised support.

You will manage a caseload, delivering one-to-one and group-based interventions, offering information, advice, guidance and signposting, and co-producing support plans tailored to individuals' goals and needs. You will undertake holistic assessments, and work closely with clinical colleagues at Oxleas to ensure a joined-up approach between clinical and non-clinical support. Your ability to build strong relationships and maintain accurate case records will be vital to support quality assurance, risk management and positive outcomes for clients.

The role requires excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, a commitment to recovery-focused practice, and the ability to work flexibly and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. You will have experience supporting people with mental health challenges, including those with complex or heightened needs, and a strong understanding of local services in Bromley. A good working knowledge of safeguarding procedures and outcome-focused practice is essential.

Hybrid working is considered in line with our policies, and occasional out-of-hours work may be required.

The Adult Carers Team Leader reports directly to the Operations Manager and is responsible for leading and managing the Adult Carers team. 

You will provide leadership and stability to the Adult Carers staff team, by line managing, coaching and supporting employees to create a happy, productive work environment. You will work within the Adult Carers team to deliver an engaging, accessible range of peer support groups, social activities and one to one support, working to targets and budget, ensuring timely and accurate reporting to funders.

This role requires you to work collaboratively with carers and professionals to meet carers’ needs and shape the service, building and maintaining strong partnerships to do so. You will support our wider organisational objectives and help out with events, communications and other ad hoc work.

This is an exciting opportunity for a creative individual to establish and lead a community engagement and volunteer programme in an important new visitor attraction in the heart of London. Bevis Marks Synagogue dates back to 1701 and is the oldest synagogue in the UK. You will recruit, motivate and support a team of volunteers and develop a dynamic community engagement programme as part of a small, dedicated team at this special, historic site.

In 2019, Bevis Marks Synagogue received a National Lottery Heritage Fund grant to restore the synagogue and create The Dangoor Heritage Centre. This project displays and interprets the synagogue’s historic collection for the first time, and enhances visitor facilities. The S&P Sephardi Community established the Bevis Marks Synagogue Heritage Foundation (BMSHF) to manage this project and the site's ongoing visitor operations. We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic heritage engagement professional to help make Bevis Marks Synagogue a vibrant place of worship that shares its unique story with a wider community of people of all faiths and none.

Bevis Marks Synagogue, completed in 1701, is the oldest synagogue in the UK and the oldest in continuous use in Europe. Its Grade I listed Wren-style design, well-preserved interior and fittings make it exceptionally historically significant. It is still a working synagogue with a community that has been engaged in the development of the new Dangoor Heritage Centre.

The S&P Sephardi Community’s collection of objects, rich archive, and intangible heritage, such as music and traditions, offer a continuous record of Jewish life in Britain since the mid-seventeenth century. The collection is mainly silver and textiles and many items are of national significance, providing rare insights into the practice of Sephardi Jewish worship, and London’s changing fashions and craftsmanship.

Visitors will be welcomed by volunteers and will explore the synagogue and Dangoor Heritage Centre with the help of an audio guide which includes insightful contributions from a number of members of the Bevis Marks community who have participated in the project. Volunteers will also engage visitors throughout the exhibition areas and support our events programme, shop and catering offer and provide a friendly welcoming experience for a wide range of visitors, from within the UK and abroad.

The construction project is set to be completed by early summer 2025, with the exhibition fit-out over the summer and opening is anticipated in autumn 2025.

Hours: 37 hours a week. Two Sundays per month will be required, along with evening and Bank Holiday working as required by the needs of the business.
