JOB PURPOSE
UK for UNHCR (UK4U), the UN Refugee Agency's national charity partner, is looking for a Philanthropy Officer. We are a small but high-performing team with big ambitions. You will support the stewardship of our Advisory Board and principle gift programme.  

As a team player, you will work with colleagues across Private Partnerships and Philanthropy, Communications and UNHCR global. 
Passionate about the refugee cause and UNHCR’s contribution, you will have prior experience of working with major donors and be someone who is externally focused and enjoys developing relationships. You will have experience of working with a variety of stakeholders at different levels. A problem solver, you will have strong organisation skills and be a confident and clear communicator verbally and in writing as well as able to juggle multiple projects at once.

United Kingdom for UNHCR is the United Nations Refugee Agency’s national charity partner for the United Kingdom. We generate public awareness of the plight of refugees and raise funds to help protect them through UNHCR’s humanitarian operations across the world.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Work closely with the Senior Advisor to steward donor relationship including Members of UK for UNHCR’s Advisory Board and principal gift prospects and donors. This will include: 

• Supporting cultivation and stewardship. Involves working on account plans, preparing meeting briefings, writing of high-quality concept notes, proposals, reports, and other fundraising products.   
• Supporting external Advisory Board members to develop and execute opportunities to raise the profile of UNHCR’s work. This may include researching, identifying and initiating new initiatives.  
• Support with reporting back to the Advisory Board and regular stewardship ensuring the Board remains close to the charity and UNHCR – includes preparation of papers for quarterly Advisory Board meetings, monthly communications. 
• Working with internal and external stakeholders to identify key networks and individuals capable of supporting UNHCR financially. 
• Join portfolio meetings providing updates on the advisory board and relationships with key members.  
• Supporting the coordination of the Intermediary Strategy to grow relationships with connectors in the private client sector and in collaboration with others. 
• Support the Senior Advisor to maintain a focused new business pipeline. 
• Support with management reporting, including keeping salesforce up to date for the portfolio and related KPI tracking. 
• Other administration support with the portfolio

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES AND EXPERIENCE
Essential Experience

• Experience of working within a high value fundraising team, supporting on the development of high-quality communications such as reports and proposals. 
• Some experience of cultivating external relationships across major donors.  
• Experience of working with multiple stakeholders on high value fundraising projects. 
• Experience of developing project plans for key projects, keeping to milestones and deadlines and working as part of a project team. 
• Experience of supporting the development of stewardship plans.

Essential Skills/Knowledge

• Confident communicator with the ability to effectively influence internal and external stakeholders. 
• Ability to analyse reports and communicate complex themes and subjects to a variety of audiences, written and verbal.  
• Ability to act proactively to identify new prospects and fundraising opportunities.

• Able to demonstrate flexibility, with a willingness to respond quickly, particularly at times of humanitarian crisis and emergencies.

• Understanding of the differences in approach between major donors, trusts, corporates and UHNWs donors and prospects. 
• Excellent stakeholder and relationship management skills. 
• Experience of working in a fast -paced complex environment. 
• A flexible team player with service-oriented and problem-solving attitude. 
• Proficient in using Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project. 
• Working knowledge of fundraising databases.

The Head of Finance is a key member of Tara Theatre’s senior management team, overseeing the company’s financial processes and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. They will report to Alys Beider, Tara’s new Executive Director and Joint Chief Executive and support with strategic long-term financial and business planning as well as annual and quarterly budgeting.

They are responsible for maintaining the company accounts, preparing quarterly management accounts, cashflow forecasts and financial reports and analysis for the executive team and the board of trustees.

Tara Theatre is a company limited by guarantee and a charity. It has two trading subsidiaries, Tara Productions and Tara Enterprises. We currently have an annual turnover of circa £1 million. We manage our finances and payroll in-house, currently using Xero.

About the role

​As a Training Coordinator for SafeLives, you will provide effective and efficient co-ordination of resources and support for the Training team, commissioners and learners across all SafeLives’ training programmes.

Duties include:

• Respond to learner, commissioner and partner emails in a timely way and manage your inbox efficiently
• Serve as the first point of contact by answering and managing daily phone communications, including calls from the public
• Manage financial tasks such as invoicing, checking credit card payments, and verifying incoming invoices (weekly)
• Schedule associates for training delivery and book the travel, accommodation and Zoom / Teams meetings
• Process course applications, waiting lists and subsidies using Arlo (online bookings software)
• Send all necessary course information and updates to learners, colleagues and associates both digitally and physically
• Be available to support trainers and learners on the day of training and resolve any issues
• Provide tailored support for learners with additional needs
• Create Microsoft Forms feedback forms and evaluation reports

About British Gas Energy Trust (BGET)

British Gas Energy Trust (BGET) is dedicated to supporting individuals and families across England, Scotland, and Wales who are struggling with energy debt and financial hardship. As part of our continued growth, this role will support the Head of Services – Grant Making in delivering essential services for the Trust and its colleagues.

Role Purpose: The Grant Operations Officer plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of the charity's grant giving functions.

Key responsibilities:

And will act as a daily point of contact between the Grant administrator & the Trust, ensuring the Head of Services is appropriately updated. 

• Build strong, transparent, appropriate relationships with British Gas and Centrica, and act as a liaison on a day-to-day basis with project teams.

• Identify, recognize & respond to issues or opportunities as they arise. 

Direct grant scheme: Debt Write Off & Financial Assistance Payments, White Goods & Money Advice - administration & monitoring:

• Support the Head of Services with the debt write off and all programmes including working with Third party contractors as appropriate.

• Work with the Head of Services to build strong relationships with Third Party administrator(s).

• Work closely with British Gas & other third-party contractors to understand their operational process for vulnerable customers, applications and referrals as well as any dependencies.

• Support BGET’s understanding of money and advice sector across England, Scotland and Wales, including sharing policy knowledge and sector developments within the 3 nations.
• Contribute to new initiatives with British Gas and grant giving programmes.

· Support the effective management of the Trust’s grant programmes across England, Scotland and Wales, including:

• Build & manage positive relationships with the grant assessment team and British Gas internal teams. 

• Providing appropriate support to ensure the direct grant programme runs efficiently and effectively, with grant funding distributed to budget and schedule.

• Undertaking both face to face and virtual monitoring visits of the helpline and application portal and assessment teams – including ongoing KPI and impact evaluation process, creating comprehensive follow-up reports including end of grant reports.

Reporting & Contract Management:

• Ensure all data collection aligned to current Data Protection regulations and use and storage of data is in line with the Trust’s own policies and provide reassurance to the Head of Services.

• Ensure accurate data is in place for year-end reporting, quarterly and including assisting Head of Services with quarterly and End of Year Board reporting.

 Reporting & Contract Management: 

• Identify risks to delivery and work with the grant administrator to help resolve any challenges with delivery that impact on the grant obligations.

• To work with internal and external monitoring and evaluation specialists, to gain impact and understanding of the effect of our funding schemes.

Knowledge Sharing

• Identify and develop opportunities to work collaboratively and share learning.

• Ensure case studies and other content is collated from grant recipients to share through our channels.

Please note the employee will be required to undertake any reasonable work or task requested by the Trust, this will include occasional travel, potentially overnight, in England, Scotland and Wales. 

Desirable Experience: 

• Experience of working with positive, equitable partnerships. 

• Experience in using Grant Management Software including reporting systems and dashboards.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively without compromising on quality or efficiency and be able to adapt to changing demands.

Skills and Knowledge: 
Essential: 

• Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships

Main Responsibilities:

Leadership

1. As a member of the Operational Leadership Team and wider Senior Leadership Team, work collaboratively and take collective responsibility for the strategic management and leadership of the organisation.

2. Work closely with the CEO, Treasurer and Board of Trustees to facilitate good governance and risk management.

3. Manage, maintain and develop all financial systems and control; increasing their impact and quality, and implementing best practices in financial management.

4. To supervise finance assistants and ensure that they are adhering to financial code of practices.

Financial Management

1. Lead and manage all aspects of the financial cycle, including budgeting, forecasting, fixed asset management, reserves & designated fund management and financial reporting.

2. Work with HR & Payroll Officer to manage and retain oversight of the day to day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking and general ledger maintenance, including the reconciliation of petty cash, credit cards and all bank accounts on a monthly basis reviewing and approving payment runs and payroll.

3. Work with the CEO and Senior Leadership Team to prepare the annual budgets and forecasts.

4. Lead and manage the provision of regular budget monitoring and reports to budget holders.

5. Assist with the budget preparation for funding bids. Manage, monitor and keep track of any grants, funding or commissioned income, working with relevant managers to provide relevant financial information for inclusion in monitoring reports.

6. Lead and manage the provision of quarterly financial reports to the Board and advise them on financial issues as appropriate

7. Provide insightful financial analysis and reporting to inform and support organisational management, development and decision[1]making, and funding applications across the organisation.

8. Work with the CEO to prepare medium term financial forecasts for the organisation to support strategic decision-making and delivery of strategic priorities.

9. Lead on the audit process and the preparation of year end accounts to trial balance including preparation of the audit file and the closing down of the accounts on our accounting management system to ensure that the organisation is compliant with legal requirements and good practice.

10. To work closely with the CEO, Senior Leadership Team and designated Trustees to advise, review and cost the annual pay award.

11. To provide back-up and holiday cover for the processing of monthly payroll.

12. To work with and support the HR & Payroll Officer in providing payroll information and reconciling payroll monthly.

Governance and compliance

1. Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements (e.g. Companies House, HMRC and the Charity Commission).

2. Attend Trustee Board meetings to report on financial matters, including the identification and management of financial risk, and provide any relevant reports.

3. To support the Trustees, SLT and line managers in managing our finances carefully and within our financial means, through provision of advice, guidance, support and training.

4. To be the main point of contact with external auditors.

5. To ensure that robust financial controls are in place, underpinned by appropriate financial policies and procedures and to ensure that they are adhered to and that the organisation is protected from fraud and error.

What's the Job?

LSESU is looking for a proactive and driven Facility Supervisor to support the daily operation of our sports facilities, with focus on our gym spaces. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the spaces, from health and safety compliance to customer service excellence. You’ll also manage internal bookings and enquiries from our gym members.
 

The role will require to work on shifts, to be agreed with the Facility Coordinator and with our commitment to avoid unsociable hours and weekends, although may be required on occasion.
 

In this role, you’ll work closely with the Facility Coordinator to deliver the strategic vision for our facilities, focusing on enhancing the user experience. You will actively contribute to training procedures, incident reporting, and various administrative tasks. 
 

You’ll collaborate closely with both staff and students, playing an active part in day-to-day operations and strategic development of the sports facilities. Your work will have a direct impact on the student experience at LSE, ensuring the seamless running of the facilities and supporting continuous improvements and innovations.

The Role

Active Together is a multimodal prehabilitation and rehabilitation service that has been developed by world leading academics and practitioners at the Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre (AWRC) at Sheffield Hallam University and funded by Yorkshire Cancer Research.

Supporting the Head of Active Together, as our Services Manager – Active Together Hull your role will be to establish, implement, manage, and support the continuing improvement of the prehabilitation and rehabilitation service for cancer patients at the newly developed Active Together centre in Hull. Acting as the non-clinical lead, the role ensures the service is safe, effective, and aligned with the Active Together service design while delivering value for money for the charity.

In addition to overseeing service delivery, the post holder will be responsible for managing the facility itself, including offices, consultation rooms, and three gym studio spaces. The role provides line management of the Service Administrator and supporting the Lead Fitness Instructor, ensuring efficient operational support for the service. Additionally, the post holder will organise and manage the onboarding process for new Yorkshire Cancer Research colleagues, ensuring a smooth transition into the service.

The role involves close collaboration with Hull University Teaching Hospitals (HUTH) clinical staff, working alongside the Service Clinical Lead to ensure an integrated approach to prehabilitation and rehabilitation for cancer patients.

Specifically, you will:

Leadership & Service Management

· Oversee the launch and ongoing management of the Active Together prehabilitation and rehabilitation service in Hull, ensuring smooth implementation and continuous improvement.

· Work closely with HUTH clinical staff, fostering strong collaborative relationships to ensure effective patient pathways.

· Partner with the Service Clinical Lead to maintain alignment between clinical and non-clinical aspects of the service.

· Lead collaborative working across the service delivery team, maximising colleagues' skills, ensuring clear direction, and maintaining high-quality processes.

· Collaborate with the Digital Teams at Yorkshire Cancer Research and at HUTH to manage and develop IT systems that support the safe and effective delivery, monitoring and evaluation of the service, including telephony, hardware, and software.

Line Management & Administrative Leadership

· Provide line management of the Service Administrator and any other administrative support colleagues, ensuring clarity in responsibilities and professional growth.

· Conduct regular one-to-one meetings, set clear objectives, and support colleagues in achieving their goals.

· Ensure efficient administrative support, covering scheduling, patient coordination, and facility management.

· Promote a positive and collaborative working culture within the administrative team and broader colleagues working in the service for Yorkshire Cancer Research and HUTH.

· Ensure that all charity policies, standards and operating procedures are communicated effectively to all members of your team and are maintained and followed consistently.

Onboarding & colleagues Integration

· Ensure that all equipment is available to be able to operate the Active Together Hull Service environment

· Working closely with HR to organise and manage the onboarding process for new Yorkshire Cancer Research colleagues, ensuring a seamless transition into the service.

· Provide structured induction, ensuring new colleagues understand the service model, policies, and operational procedures.

Evidence, Research, and Development

· Oversee data generation to support service evaluation and research.

· Ensure all service-related data is accurate and submitted in a timely manner.

· Gather patient experience insights in Hull through PPI work, patient satisfaction questionnaires, and qualitative evaluations, feeding into service improvement initiatives.

Facility Management

· Oversee day-to-day operations of the Active Together Centre, ensuring optimal use of offices, consultation rooms, and gym spaces.

· Ensure facility safety, compliance, and upkeep, liaising with building management as needed.

· Manage procurement and maintenance of essential equipment and resources to support service delivery.

· Lead on the management of contractors and service providers (including but not limited to, shredding, printing, office greenery).

Other duties

· Provide cover as required across the team to cover annual leave, sickness absence and training

· Be trained as a First Aider and Fire Marshal and manage the rota for First Aid and Fire Marshal cover

CSAN is the official agency of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference, tackling the root causes of poverty and injustice affecting people in England and Wales. We’re facing a steep rise in poverty and significant pressures on social, economic and church resources. At this time, the Church is called to raise a prophetic voice against poverty and the rhetoric of division and work for the building of a more just society.

In 2021, CSAN launched its strategy to extend the social mission of the Church in a post-COVID society. We are developing the infrastructure of the social action network of the Church in England and Wales, including new alliances for diocesan Caritas agencies, advocacy and migration. As our Senior Officer for Migration, you will help to raise awareness of migration issues from the perspective of Catholic Social Teaching and lead on our Ambassadors Programme against Human Trafficking and Modern Slavery, as well as prepare briefings and campaign responses to Government legislation.

Over the last 20 years, CSAN has established a network of 50 diocesan and direct service charities, with a combined annual expenditure on social mission estimated at £400m, excluding the work of schools and religious congregations. The key responsibilities of the Senior Migration Officer are:

1. To provide timely information to the CSAN team and the network on UK Government resettlement programmes and legislation on immigration.

2. To support CSAN’s work to improve public policy and practice on immigration, with compelling evidence from our network, and enabling effective participation in advocacy for a humane system.

3. To work closely with the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales on issues of migration and human trafficking.
