About the Role

Are you someone who is passionate about seeing positive change in our world? Can you bring knowledge and creativity in designing innovative and effective peacebuilding programmes?

We are looking for someone to support our programmes and institutional fundraising with excellent writing skills, who is passionate about addressing the root causes of and inequalities caused by conflict. You will be someone passionate about the work Cord does and who can bring technical institutional funding expertise alongside peacebuilding knowledge to our small and committed team.

In this role you will lead the development of new programmes and institutional funding bids in line with Cord’s peacebuilding approach and 5 main programme areas. You will manage proposal submissions to Cord's key donors such as the EU, US State Department, GIZ, SDC, UN Peacebuilding Fund etc. You will be working closely with country teams to design and write proposals based on strong project designs developed in partnership with our local partners.

The role will also operate at a strategic level by managing Cord’s relationships with key donors and shaping how Cord communicates about its programmes and the added-value that Cord brings.

Bid Writer

Role Summary 

We’re looking for a Trusts and Foundations Fundraiser with strong bid writing expertise, and a commitment to helping grassroots organisations thrive.

As AWN’s Trusts and Foundations Fundraiser, you will be at the heart of our mission – unlocking vital funding for primarily Muslim-led organisations that are often overlooked by mainstream grantmakers. You won’t just write compelling, high-quality bids; you’ll also support and upskill others by delivering targeted training on how to write effective bid applications – sharing practical tips, proven techniques, and insider insights to help small organisations gain confidence in applying for funding.

You’ll be comfortable delivering engaging workshops, speaking to groups with varying levels of experience, and occasionally sharing insights with funders and stakeholders to help build mutual understanding and stronger relationships. This is a highly collaborative role that requires excellent communication, deep sector knowledge, and the ability to build capacity where it’s needed most.

This is a unique opportunity to work in a niche but powerful space – combining technical grant writing with purposeful, community-empowering work.

Key Responsibilities 

• Lead and support bid writing for grassroots organisations aligned with AWN’s priorities. 

• Write grant applications directly on behalf of multiple small grassroots organisations, ensuring proposals are tailored to each funder's priorities and the unique strengths of each group.

• Design and deliver training sessions, webinars, and 1-to-1 support on grant writing. 

• Build strategic relationships with funders, local councils, and second-tier organisations. 

• Promote AWN’s funding support services across networks and platforms. 

• Represent AWN at sector events and advocacy platforms. 

• Track and evaluate the impact of bid writing support to inform strategy, reporting, and learning. Use feedback from unsuccessful bids to build learning resources and improve future applications.

• Maintain accurate CRM records and reporting systems. 

• Any other duties deemed appropriate for the role. 

Person Specification 

• Demonstrated experience in writing successful bids or grant applications 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

• Strong understanding of the UK charity and funding landscape 

• Cultural competency and understanding of issues affecting UK Muslim communities 

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines 

• Experience of working in small and dynamic teams 

• Proficiency in Microsoft 365, CRM systems and familiar with digital platforms 

• Experience delivering training or webinars 

• Established relationships in the UK funding or Muslim charity sector 

• Experience working in a start-up or small charity environment

This role is currently remote and we will expect some travel into London for planned in-person meetings.

We have a new opportunity for a Senior Business Development Officer to join Sustrans. In this pivotal role, you'll support Sustrans’ commercial strategy by leading and improving our competitive bidding process and delivering high-quality business development support across the organisation.

Key responsibilities will include:

About you

You have experience of working in business development or a relevant setting. You have previously developed successful funding bids and competitive tenders. You work well with others, identifying new opportunities and gaps in the market. You coordinate activities using an established process - holding people to account and meeting deadlines. Your copy is of a high standard and you are confident reviewing others' work. You have a proactive mindset with a focus on quality, impact, and continuous improvement. 

Previous experience of working in this area isn't a necessity. If you are well-organised, with an eye for detail, and work well with others - we'd welcome an application from you.

The Trusts & Foundations Specialist will play a key role in identifying and securing grants from trusts and foundations. You will lead on researching new opportunities, crafting compelling applications, and stewarding relationships with grantmakers. We’re looking for a diligent and thoughtful writer with a sharp eye for detail and a deep interest in our work, who is also keen to contribute to the wider life of the organisation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Grant Prospecting & Pipeline Development

• Research and maintain a pipeline of trusts and foundations aligned with OSH’s mission and growth priorities.

• Work closely with OSH leadership to align fundraising priorities with programme plans and organisational growth.

• Maintain up-to-date records on potential and active funders in OSH’s CRM.
   

Bid Writing & Submission

• Write and submit high-quality, tailored applications that articulate OSH’s impact, values and plans.

• Ensure applications are accurate, persuasive, and meet deadlines and funder requirements.

• Collaborate with the team to gather supporting information, budgets, and case studies.
   

Reporting & Stewardship

• Prepare timely and engaging reports for successful grants, ensuring compliance with funder requirements and strong stewardship.

• Maintain excellent records and monitor deadlines for reporting and renewals.
   

Cross-Organisational Contribution

• Coordinate annual impact reporting, including data analysis, case studies, and visual storytelling.

• Build strong internal relationships and stay connected to OSH’s work by attending occasional programmes, events and residentials.

• Contribute ideas and support the fundraising team’s broader work (e.g. campaigns, supporter communications).

• Engage with programme staff to gather stories and data that demonstrate OSH’s impact.

ABOUT YOU

• Demonstrated experience writing successful funding applications to trusts and foundations.

• Excellent writing and editing skills — clear, concise, persuasive and adaptable to different audiences.

• Highly organised, diligent and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

• Ability to analyse funder criteria and align proposals strategically.

• Strong team player, willing to engage with programme staff, volunteers and young people to understand and communicate OSH’s work.

• Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage funders and supporters with warmth and professionalism.

• Commitment to ethical fundraising practices and compliance with UK fundraising regulations.

• Familiarity with fundraising CRMs, in particular Beacon.

• Experience preparing budgets and financial reports for funders.

• Personal or professional understanding of issues affecting people from refugee backgrounds.

• Passion for OSH’s mission and commitment to centering people with refugee backgrounds.

• Ability to speak in other languages relevant to our community, including Arabic, Pashto, Farsi, Tigrinya, Amharic, Oromo, and Spanish.

Position: Head of Fundraising (12-Month Maternity Cover)

Now, we’re looking for a dynamic, innovative and creative Head of Fundraising (Maternity Cover) to help us grow our impact and drive our fundraising efforts to support more survivors of modern slavery.

About the Role

We are looking for a confident, engaging and collaborative individual to join us as Head of Fundraising (12-month Maternity Cover) and drive our ambitious fundraising plan forwards.  

We are at a pivotal stage of our organisational and fundraising strategy. This role has an exciting responsibility to capture the importance of the work that Snowdrop does and drive forward our ambitious fundraising strategy, focusing on diversifying income streams that sustains and grows our support to survivors. 

You will need to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills; experience of  fundraising; and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively and prioritise rapidly changing lists of tasks.

What You’ll Be Doing:  

You’ll lead our Fundraising Team and line manage our dynamic and engaged fundraisers, supporting them from planning inspiring activities and events to supporting local fundraisers and volunteers all whilst upholding Snowdrop’s values and fundraising best practice.

• This person will take the lead in delivering the next 12 months of Snowdrop’s fundraising strategy, driving forward strategic development, implementing learning and further developing the fundraising team to deliver on its fundraising ambitions in line with the wider organisational strategy.
• The Head of Fundraising role sits within the Senior Leadership team at Snowdrop and is responsible to contribute to the overall leadership, strategic management and continued development of the organisation
• Leading on creating strategies for attracting new corporate donors and partnerships alongside driving forward our well-established corporate volunteering programme
• This person will work alongside and support Snowdrop’s trusts and grants fundraiser and support on large grant applications where necessary 
• Line management of the Donor Relations and Communications Manager and Community and Events Fundraising Manager, alongside the supervision of two consultants
