Purpose of the post
The Finance Business Partner plays a crucial role within HDR UK, as the key point of contact and financial support for the Institute Office teams. The Finance Business Partner supports key non- finance stakeholders to provide timely and insightful analysis and reporting and supports with the alignment of financial plans to operational and strategic priorities. The role will support the Institute Office as well as some of our separately funded programmes. The Finance Business Partner is responsible for the management of the Institute’s support costs and recharges, and therefore plays a pivotal role in the long-term financial sustainability of HDR UK. The role is responsible for maintaining clear and effective communication between the Finance team and the wider business and for ensuring that financial concepts and priorities are understood by the Institute Office and programme teams.
Main responsibilities

Work with Budget Holders to manage financial performance, forecasts, and budgeting including understanding financial opportunities and risk for the area of business partnership.

Lead on monthly reporting to the Institute Office and Programme teams, including posting month end journals, meeting with Budget Holders to discuss performance and budget variance and providing commentary and analysis on reports.

Provide donor reporting and analysis as required to funders of specific programmes.

Work with the Head of Financial Planning and Analysis to plan, deliver, and review the annual budget and quarterly forecasts.

Support the Associate Director of Finance and Head of FP&A to continuously review and update the 5-year financial plan.

Support with projects and new process development to continuously improve and evolve our approach to internal financial reporting and modern finance business partnering.

Support the Finance Business Partnering function with ad hoc reports and grant management and reporting.

Who you are

We are looking for people who have a background in managing support services and understand the responsibility this requires.
Specifically, we are seeking candidates who can
- Provide day-to-day line management and supervision to a team of up to 10 regional caseworkers offering guidance, support, and quality assurance.
- Ensure lone working policies are adhered to daily to ensure the safety and security of the team whilst lone working and travelling to and from home visits.
- Contribute to an on-call duty manager system on a weekly basis, providing out-of-hours advice and support to caseworkers across the service.
- Deputise for the National service delivery lead during periods of leave, sickness, absence.
- Contribute to the ongoing professional development of caseworkers through reflective practice, caseload audit and management and the development and delivery of formal CPD sessions.
- Responsible (in collaboration with HR lead) for managing sickness and absence and return to work interviews.
- Maintain oversight and support caseworkers with complex and high-risk cases by attending safeguarding and risk management meetings, both internally and externally to ensure compliance with best practice.
- Ensure support is provided through our model of trauma informed care.
- Consult with the triage team to ensure the timely allocation of cases from our central service team into the regional teams.
- Deliver monthly [TL6] case review meetings with regional caseworkers, ensuring needs and risks of clients are met and outcomes recorded including quality assurance of safeguarding. Ensure all data is accurately recorded within the case management system.
- Ensure that callers’ identified needs are met satisfactorily, within professional boundaries, to outcome goals, with those outcomes recorded.
- To monitor and ensure that all support is delivered in a confidential and professional manner, adhering to safeguarding legislation and the latest data protection regulations.
- To consult with local partners and services referring into the service to establish pathways of care.
- Contribute to NRVS’ wider processes of audit, evaluation, and impact monitoring.
- Provide assessments and decisions around complex intervention planning, including escalation of cases requiring clinical guidance to clinical director.
- Actively contribute to the development of relationships with key stakeholders, organisations, and professionals in the region. This may include the provision of training and presentations to ensure that they are aware of the service.

You bring
Essential qualities
- Experience of managing high-risk support services on a national basis working with people in crisis with acute vulnerabilities and risks.
- Extensive experience of managing and co-ordinating teams, including remotely, including HR policies and procedures.
- Experience of establishing and sustaining partnerships with key partners, stakeholders, and other professionals.
- Experience of report writing for funding bodies.
- Experience of a case management review process and support framework, safeguarding and active monitoring, and escalation of cases with health and safety needs.
- Knowledge, experience and understanding of best practice in working with people who have experienced sudden loss and traumatic bereavement and managing services in this area.
- Knowledge, experience and understanding of working in a trauma informed way, providing trauma informed care to adults and families.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, risk management and GDPR procedures.
- Management of crisis intervention and working in collaboration with other professionals to support those with complex needs (i.e. crisis and home treatment teams, community mental health services, ISVA and IDVA roles).

The Relationship Fundraising team at Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) is responsible for securing income from individuals, regional businesses and groups fundraising in the community, effectively managing relationships to maximise income.
The Relationship Fundraising role will play a significant part in contributing to a high-performing fundraising team. The role will cover the country of Northern Ireland.
You will report to the Relationship Fundraising Manager and support the Head of Relationship Fundraising & Volunteering to drive the continued growth of the charity’s fundraising income in your area. You will also be required to show excellent relationship-building skills to support community partnerships and volunteer groups, driving towards agreed targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy, finance, and reporting
· Responsibility for stewardship and relationship building with supporters within the region.
· Identify and apply for ‘Charity of the Year’ partnerships with corporates in the region, account manage these relationships up to a value of £50,000 per annum and support the Partnership Development Team with national partnerships in your region.
· Support existing volunteer fundraisers to encourage continued loyalty to the charity and to maximise funds raised, in accordance with fundraising legislation and good practice.
· Recruit new fundraising supporters in line with strategy.

Supporter management
· Provide excellent customer service to fundraising supporters, with prompt responses to enquiries, to acknowledge support and increase long-term loyalty.

· Support, motivate and develop local fundraising volunteers, ensuring they have a clear understanding of ARUK to enable them to represent the charity’s work effectively.

Monitoring and Reporting

About the role
Over the last two consecutive financial years, we have raised approximately £1 million each year – primarily through trusts and foundations, corporate donors, and individual supporters. As the successful candidate, you and the team you lead will play a pivotal role in maintaining this level of fundraising success, ensuring our vital work with young people continues to flourish. This role will involve:
- Reviewing and evaluating our funder qualification processes to ensure donors align with our values and meet our ethical standards.
- Ensuring that detailed research on prospective funding opportunities, including trusts, foundations, corporate partners, HNWIs, are carried out and that plans for making approaches are developed and carefully implemented.
- Initiating, nurturing and maintaining strong relationships with prospective funders and donors.
- Working together with the Senior Leadership to develop and periodically review Khulisa's 3-year fundraising strategy, taking ownership of key elements and processes, and periodically developing and testing new fundraising approaches.
