Summary of role responsibilities
- To cultivate, secure and steward new corporate partnerships, individuals, and major donors to generate funds to support the work of Solving Kids’ Cancer UK.
- To work as an effective, supportive, and proactive member of the wider Fundraising and Engagement team in support of overall fundraising objectives.

Sands exists to save babies’ lives and ensure that anyone affected by pregnancy loss or baby death receives the support and care they need.
We are recruiting a Virtual Fundraising Events Officer to support the promotion, organisation and delivery of 2-3 virtual events at Sands, in order to grow our fundraising income and raise awareness of our work.
The post-holder will help increase Sands’ online presence through excellent stewardship of large audiences who are both warm and new supporters.
The role also involves developing and building positive relationships with our Facebook communities.
We are looking for a candidate who can provide a world class supporter experience, helping supporters reach and exceed their fundraising targets, ensuring their continuing support and their lifetime value is maximised.
You will have relevant experience in a similar role, preferably with responsibility for generating fundraising income.
Experience of developing and maintaining positive donor/customer relationships is essential, as is experience of resolving customer/supporter queries in a timely and efficient manner.
An excellent communicator and team player, you will have a sound knowledge and experience of using a range of social media channels.
You will be able to demonstrate excellent attention to detail, have a highly organised approach and be able to meet targets and deadlines.
This is an exciting and rewarding role which will make a real difference to Sands’ work in supporting bereaved families.

SPORTS AND CHALLENGE EVENTS PORTFOLIO MANAGER
Today, 12 children and young people will be diagnosed with cancer. We’ll stop at nothing to make sure they get the right care and support at the right time.
Salary: £35,882 FTE

ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re looking for a Challenge Events Manager to join our Sports and Challenge Events Team managing an innovative and evolving portfolio of mass participation events, including the mighty London Marathon.
You’ll join a driven team committed to growing our challenge events portfolio and delivering standout supporter experiences, whether they’re jumping out of a plane or crossing that iconic London Marathon finish line. You’ll be marketing a range of tantalising mass participation events to supporters and devising engaging and inspiring stewardship journeys to make their Young Lives vs Cancer experience memorable.
WHAT WILL I BE DOING?
No two days are the same at Young Lives vs Cancer. So, summarising your ‘day to day’ isn’t easy. Here are some of the main things you’ll be doing, but you’ll find more details in the job description.
- You be responsible for driving supporters into the charity, using your top-notch marketing skills, and working with our Digital and Brand teams, to target third party mass participation events to new and existing audiences.
- You'll possess strong relationship building and stakeholder management skills, you’ll be as comfortable liaising with event organisers and suppliers as you are working with internal stakeholders.
- You’ll create and deliver consistently awesome supporter journeys, working with our regional and central fundraising teams
- Your project management skills will help you deliver incredible event experiences for participants
- You’ll be meticulous about your budget, your targets and numbers
- You'll have a drive to keep on top of event trends; networking and researching new event concepts to help us shape a really forward-facing events offering
