The Role

Leighton Moss is home to the largest reed bed in north-west England. This sweeping expanse provides shelter to a spectacular range of wildlife including Otters, Bearded Tits, Bitterns, Marsh Harriers, egrets and Red Deer. 

Set against the shores of the nearby Morecambe Bay, this Lancashire nature reserve is a thriving visitor haven attracting people of all walks of life to explore its reedbeds, mudflats, coastal marsh and saltwater lagoons. Explore a bit further and you will also find pockets of woodland and limestone grasslands. 

As part of the Leighton Moss team, you’ll work alongside dedicated staff and volunteers to welcome visitors, share the conservation importance of this iconic site, and inspire support for the organisation through fundraising and membership recruitment.

The Role

Arne is not only a brilliant Dorset bird watching spot, it’s also one of the few remaining places where all six of the UK’s native reptiles can be found. Situated on Poole Harbour and within the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty this Dorset nature reserve is a thriving visitor haven attracting people of all walks of life; landscapes don’t get much more breathtaking than Arne. It’s a rich patchwork of habitats, home to a huge array of wildlife. Explore wide-open heathlands where reptiles roam, as well as ancient oak woodland humming with bird song, farm fields where Sika Deer stags rut and wetlands where Spoonbills wade. Still want more? How about discovering wading birds among the mudflats, watching Dartford Warblers darting about in the scrub, and spotting seals from the shoreline.

We carefully manage Arne's unique mix of habitats to create the ideal conditions for wildlife to thrive. As a threatened habitat in the UK, our lowland heath is of particular importance and many rare birds including Dartford Warblers, Woodlarks and Nightjars call it home. But it’s not just birds - Smooth Snakes, Silver-studded Blue Butterflies, Ladybird Spiders and Yellow Centaury (a rare heathland plant) can also be found at Arne.

We have an exciting opening for a full time Community Fundraiser within our friendly and supportive Income Generation Team, based at our site in Farnham, Surrey. This energising role will see you supporting individuals and groups within our local community, to organise their own events and fundraise for our vital care. It’s a fun and varied role and no two weeks are the same.

You need to be someone who’s compassionate but can bring bags of energy to the position! One day you might be supporting someone to open their garden or hold an afternoon tea and the next you’ll be dressing up and joining the team to deliver our Reindeer Run’s at local schools. There’s also the space for you to think creatively and bring new fundraising ideas and campaigns to our community fundraising calendar.

We’re looking to appoint an enthusiastic and positive individual who is great at communicating and confident at building relationships. You’ll also need to have excellent presenting skills to motivate and inspire our supporters. About You

A successful Community Fundraiser will have:

• Experience of working within a fundraising team or relevant transferrable skills
• Be personable and friendly with strong communication skills to engage with a variety of audiences and ages, with presentation experience
• The ability to manage conflicting priorities and be adaptable to changing demands on your time
• Understanding of the locality of Phyllis Tuckwell and catchment area across West Surrey & North East Hampshire

What is the role?

As the Schools & Community Fundraiser, you will be working as part of the Fundraising Team to meet organisational income targets. You will have responsibility for the co-ordination, organisation, and evaluation of existing schools fundraising events within agreed levels of income & expenditure.

You will be expected to foster and grow our links with educational establishments, the wider community across Lanarkshire and 3rd party supporters. This will involve working with all Lanarkshire Nurseries, Primary & Secondary schools, to raise awareness of the Hospice, fundraising and our role in the community. In addition to your own workload, you will support the work of the fundraising department with other fundraising initiatives as directed..

Who We Are

 Our charity was established in 1992, to provide care and support to people in Sussex, living with and affected by HIV. Over the past three decades there have been huge advances in treatment and care for those affected by the virus. People taking effective anti-retroviral medication (ART’s) can live long lives, with HIV becoming undetectable and untransmittable.

Whilst people who are living with HIV can live longer, many develop other physical co-morbidities as they age and many experience social and self-stigma. Our service users are often from marginalised groups, who often experience inter-sectional discrimination and health inequalities. Many of our service users experience socio-economic disadvantage and have multiple and complex needs.

The Sussex Beacon offers a range of services to people who have been living with HIV for decades through to those who are newly diagnosed.  Our services include:

· Community Nurse-led Clinical Service

· Community Outreach Support Services

· Peer Mentoring

· Living Well Exercise Programme

· Day Services and Group Work

In addition to our HIV services, The Sussex Beacon has announced that it is to become a fully inclusive Hospice, providing dedicated Hospice care to the LGBTQ+ community.

The Sussex Beacon has two charity shops in Brighton and an active fundraising team, who help raise the money we need to keep our services running for the people who need them across Sussex.

The Role

This is an exciting time for The Sussex Beacon, as we are about to launch our new 2030 Strategic Plan and move to a new era of delivery, through the evolution of our end of life and palliative care for the LGBTQ+ community.  The Sussex Beacon will be the first Hospice of its kind in the country tackling stigma and health inequalities for those who are most marginalised in our community.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Mass Participation Lead to join our Income Generation team. Working alongside the Head of Income, you’ll take the lead on planning, delivering, and growing our portfolio of mass participation events, including some of the UK’s most iconic runs:

• Brighton Half Marathon – proudly owned by The Sussex Beacon
• London Marathon
• Brighton Marathon
• Vitality 10k
• London Landmarks Half Marathon
• Great South Run
• Red Run

In addition, you’ll collaborate with the Head of Income on the development and launch of two exciting new events scheduled for 2026/2027.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead on all aspects of mass participation fundraising events, from recruitment and engagement of participants to event-day logistics and post-event stewardship.
• Develop and implement creative campaigns to maximise participant sign-ups, fundraising income, and supporter retention.
• Build strong relationships with participants, corporate partners, and event organisers to enhance The Sussex Beacon’s presence and reputation.
• Support the Head of Income in the strategic growth of the events programme and delivery of income targets.
• Work collaboratively with other members of the Senior Management team to build your understanding of our work and the needs of people living with HIV, LGBTQ+ end of life and palliative care needs and broader health inequalities in the communities we serve.

Purpose of Role

To work within the Contracts and Planning team supporting the delivery of the Trust, Foundation and Statutory Programme. The role is responsible for liaising with teams across the organisation to develop funding bids which meet the needs of the organisation and prospect research, income monitoring and reporting requirements.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

1. Work with operational teams to develop funding applications to meet agreed income targets to help fund core activities and priority projects.

2. To develop and maintain a list of suitable, well researched prospects and ensure that opportunities for funding are not missed by maintaining a suitable pipeline.

3. Regular review of income pledges and received, and the funding pipeline, reporting progress and risks to manager.

4. Liaise with relevant project staff to coordinate and submit monitoring and evaluation reports to funders.

5. Ensure all reporting requirements are met in line with agreed deadlines.

6. To ensure that all relevant administration is recorded accurately on the fundraising CRM and shared team databases.

7. To monitor payment dates and ensure payments are received when expected.

8. Build and maintain relationships with funders, helping them to understand the impact of their support.

The role

As a Community Fundraiser, you will be the face of St Richard’s Hospice in the community, you will help our wonderful fundraisers and inspiring new supporters to raise money for the charity, always ensuring they receive the best possible supporter experience. You will be part of the wider Income Generation team, contributing to our shared goals and income targets.

A key part of the role will be to deliver fundraising with strong financial impact: achieving a 3:1 return on investment within two years, ensuring activities are cost-efficient, effective, and sustainable.

Flexibility will be required for evening and weekend working as well as the ability to travel locally to events, meetings or fundraising activities. This role is based at the Hospice, Wildwood Drive, Worcester.

The role will also include;
