Summary of the role:
As the Philanthropy Manager, you will oversee the development of existing high-net-worth (HNW) donors and cultivate new high-net-worth prospects. You will work closely with key Third Party supporters to establish our presence nationally. A key part of your role will be to strategise to identify new high-net-worth donors and create long-term relationships, ensuring that Muslim Aid becomes their charity of choice. You will also collaborate closely with fundraising and supporter services to organise tactical, innovative, bespoke, and strategic events that meet the needs of high-net-worth donors and maximise major gifts like no other.
About the Role:
- Develop a three-year high-net donor strategy with stakeholders that drives long-term sustainable revenue and year on year growth.
- Develop short-, medium- and long-term strategies to maintain engagement, retention and increase revenue with existing and prospective donors that supports our organisational strategy.

About You:
To be successful in this role, you will need:

- Knowledge of a wide range of fundraising mechanisms including CRM, sponsorship, brand association and employee fundraising.
- Building and managing stakeholder networks.

Post summary
This is an exciting position for an exceptional person with fundraising, campaigning, policy, communications and management/leadership experience to temporarily direct one of the UK’s leading human rights NGOs. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to oversee high-impact civil liberties campaigns to achieve real change and manage a high-performing multi-disciplinary team to further privacy, free expression and data protection rights in the United Kingdom. Importantly, you’ll be an experienced fundraiser, responsible for leading our grants and major giving to maintain Big Brother Watch’s income growth, and have experience with financial reporting.
You’ll have a diverse skill-set enabling you to line manage our Advocacy Manager, Digital Communications Manager and Head of Research and Investigations. An ideal candidate will also be responsible for leading the development of policy positions on new and emerging issues alongside our talented team.
You may also share spokesperson responsibilities, taking up our role as a recognised voice on civil liberties matters in the national media, though this is not essential.
The start and end of the position will include comprehensive handover periods with the current Director, and may include a period of co-working full time with the current Director.

About you
We’re looking for highly experienced professional with a track record of NGO fundraising and management with a demonstrable passion for protecting civil liberties, especially privacy and freedom of expression. The Survivors Trust mission:
The Survivors Trust (TST) is the UK’s largest national membership organisation for specialist voluntary sector rape and sexual abuse support services. We have over 120 Member Agencies based across the UK and Ireland. We campaign to raise awareness of sexual violence and to improve the support available for its survivors.

The Head of Development and Impact will be our lead fundraiser, drawing in support and expertise from across the team. The role:
The Head of Development, Operations and Impact is required to lead a wide range of activities. FarmAbility is a local independent charity that is committed to improving the quality of lives through access to meaningful activities for adults who have a learning disability. We deliver farming and horticultural-based programmes in partnership with community-based and local farms and gardens. These programmes offer people who have a learning disability the opportunity to engage in daily purposeful activities that not only improve physical and mental health and wellbeing, but also foster a sense of community, and allow the development and strengthening of their skills and abilities.
We are recruiting to a new, national lottery funded role of Communications and Events Officer. This role will be central to our publicity and social media strategy going forward. The postholder will support us to develop a coherent, data compliant approach to sharing our news, updating our platforms (website, social media) and developing hard copy materials such as leaflets and easy read information to share with our growing community. They will also take on the planning, preparation and delivery of our community facing events, working collaboratively with the rest of the team to ensure we are able to deliver at least 2 seasonal family friendly activities each year and at least 2 community fundraising activities. They will collaborate closely with the Fundraising Officer to ensure that we also produce materials to enable people to fundraise and awareness raise for us in their own communities. They will be outward looking, helping us to connect with colleagues from other organisations and collaborate on issues of joint concern and enable us to take part in national focus days around social farming, nature restoration and learning disability support.
