Join our dedicated Data & Technology department at Operation Smile UK and play a vital role in advancing our digital capabilities. Our website is central to reaching a broad audience with our vital work, and you'll be pivotal in ensuring our online presence is robust, accessible, and effective.

This full-stack role provides an excellent opportunity to lead and contribute across both front-end and back-end development activities. You'll collaborate closely with the Director of Data & Technology and Senior Database Manager to design and build systems that empower our Fundraising and Comms teams, delivering outstanding user experiences.

We aim to build greater in-house capacity for digital development, reducing reliance on external support for routine tasks and increasing automation on key platforms. If you are a hands-on technical lead with experience across various digital channels such as website CMS (e.g., WordPress), along with a solid understanding of front-end and back-end languages and technologies, you'll be a great fit. You will also play a leading role in ensuring the OSUK website user interface and user experience is fit for purpose.

As part of our small but ambitious team, you'll be an integral part of creating and implementing our Data and Digital strategy, directly helping us achieve our goal of supporting more children born with a cleft lip and cleft palate.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead in-house web development, initiating a cultural shift to minimise reliance on external agencies for website and platform creation.
• Play a pivotal role in shaping the organisation's data and digital strategy.
• Serve as the technical product owner for all of OSUK's websites, digital & email platforms.
• Take full ownership of the Gravity Forms to Donorfy Custom API integration.
• Flare for producing modern, stylish and accessible designs, to support campaigns, general website conversion performance and brand.
• Manage relationships with external website agencies and freelancers for key infrastructure and major projects.
• Possess a strong understanding of frontend and backend web technologies

Refugee Welcome Officer

The Refugee Welcome Officer is an exciting and unique role, supporting groups across the county who engage with the Social Justice Network to take part in the Afghan Welcome Project. You will assist with group formation, volunteer recruitment, training and provide ongoing mentoring to ensure their success.

As Refugee Welcome Officer you will work closely with the groups, local authorities, the Home Office, the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government and other key stakeholders to source suitable housing, matching families to accommodation whilst ensuring compliance.

You will build and maintain effective relationships with local agencies, councils, community groups and other sponsors to facilitate resettlement and share best practices, as well as taking the lead for coordinating recruitment and training and support for volunteers. You will also maintain DBS checks, training records and provide ongoing supervision and guidance.

In addition, you will assist with grant applications, fundraising initiatives, marketing and awareness-raising through social media, newsletters, events and community presentations.

You will have a strong passion for supporting resettled families and enabling local communities to be welcoming and inclusive. You will have experience working with volunteers, community groups or charitable organisations, and preferably experience supporting vulnerable individuals or families, including refugees or asylum seekers.

Knowledge of housing processes, private tenancies, and local support services is important, as are excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. You should be confident influencing, negotiating and problem-solving in complex situations.

Experience of delivering training and supporting volunteer development, a full, clean UK driving licence and access to a vehicle and a willingness to travel within Kent, London and the Southeast is essential.

The Canterbury Diocesan Board of Finance employs this role on behalf of the Social Justice Network (SJN), a UK-based charity that works to promote social justice, inclusion, and support for vulnerable communities. One of SJN’s key initiatives is the Afghan Welcome Project, which supports the resettlement of Afghan families across Kent, London, and the Southeast of England. The media team strategically leads on both proactive and reactive media activity, engaging with journalists to support WaterAid’s mass engagement, partnerships, brand awareness and political influencing. 

As our Senior PR Manager, you will lead the public relations function for WaterAid and work closely with the three senior media officers you manage, to drive sustainable change.

In this role, you will:

• Lead on developing and delivering innovative integrated, digital first PR campaigns that achieve impactful national, international, local and digital coverage, to support our fundraising and public engagement activities, build WaterAid’s profile, and align with wider organisational aims 

• Manage our media around our high-profile strategic partnerships to deliver media projects that meet shared objectives and help our partners become influencers in their sector to drive change 

• Work with the Celebrity and Influencer team to develop effective ways to work with high-profile supporters to build awareness of WaterAid and our work 

• Act as a media spokesperson for WaterAid as required, briefing journalists on and off the record and giving media interviews where necessary

Requirements

To be successful, you will need:

• Experience of leading, managing and motivating others and driving change 

• Considerable proven experience of working in an in-house media team or PR agency 

• Proven experience of creating and delivering effective and innovative integrated, multi-channel media campaigns with digital media at their core 

• Proven experience of liaising with journalists of all levels especially national and consumer media 

• Experience of utilising digital and social media to deliver PR objectives and aligning media work with owned, shared and paid activities 

• Proven ability to prioritise workload and work under pressure 

• Proven ability to organise, coordinate and evaluate successful projects 

• Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and inspire others 

• Excellent verbal communication skills 

• Excellent command of written English to produce written media work of high quality 

• Ability to forge effective working relationships within the team, wider comms department and with colleagues from across the organisation as well as external stakeholders 

• Commitment to personal learning, development and improvement in pursuit of own objectives and those of the team and organisation

Although not essential, we’d prefer you to have:

• Experience of international development issues and/or working in the voluntary sector in a communications role

As part of our annual leave policy, all employees receive three additional days of annual leave on top of their standard allocation of 25 days. Groundwork UK is looking to recruit a Green Community Hubs Development Manager.

Working with colleagues across the country, this role will help us to build on good practice, develop external partnerships, and drive income generation plans to grow and sustain our Green Community Hubs network. Are you passionate about putting girls' voices at the heart of programme design? We're looking for a collaborative and data-informed Insights and Impact Manager to bring research, evidence and learning into our work at GFS. You will be a natural collaborator and a strong communicator, able to build trusted relationships with colleagues, partners, and stakeholders alike. In this role, you’ll ensure that our operations run smoothly and effectively – aligningsystems and processes with our strategic goals while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations. 

You’ll provide strategic leadership and operational oversight across our core functions, including:

Please note that this role can be offered on a hybrid basis, with a minimum of three days per week in the office. As an organisation rooted in community, we believe that regular in-office presence is important to foster collaboration, connection and team cohesion. The role is part-time (28 hours per week), and these hours can be worked over four or five days, depending on your preference
