The Youth Support Co-ordinator works across all of our programmes, focusing on enhancing NYO’s safeguarding culture and processes and supporting the organisation’s commitment to creating a safe and nurturing environment for over 1,000 young musicians annually. The Co-ordinator also plays a vital role in managing recruitment activities, including auditions, which mark many young people's first engagement with NYO, and in ensuring that all NYO activities are conducted with the utmost care for the participants' welfare.

Experience in supporting projects and events within the arts, education or youth sector is desirable.

About the team

Our Finance Department works as a team of experts to safeguard resources and support decision making across Shelter. We strive to ensure Shelter is financially sustainable in order to achieve our vision of a home for everyone. This particular role sits within the Financial Planning and Analysis team. We support the charity through financial reporting, analysis, and expert advice, and enable collaboration to support managers in making effective business decisions.

About the role

Joining a finance team that collaborates and communicates effectively to help us deliver our mission and vision, making vital business decisions that are driven by expert knowledge and financial acumen will be key to your success here. As part of the role, you’ll engage regularly with our Assistant Directors and their leadership teams to ensure that financial results and key messages are shared and you’ll support stakeholders in engaging with fully available financial insight and reporting.  When it comes to our stakeholders, you’ll support and lead finance education and training to equip them with the skills required to execute their own financial responsibilities.

Among your many challenges will be the need to align financial plans to operational and strategic plans and make sure they’re clearly understood by Business Units. Seeing that each Unit is provided with a channel of effective, two-way communication with Finance will be important too. You’ll also work with colleagues in Project Governance and HR Business Partnering to support Directorate planning and business cases, as well as supporting and leading on the delivery of cross-team projects.

About you

As well as being suitably qualified (or in the final stages of qualification), you’ll need to be used to working effectively with non-finance stakeholders and varying your communication style to suit the audience you’re addressing. You’ll be experienced in assessing financial risk, and able to produce insightful financial analysis. You’ll also need excellent organisational and time management skills, including the ability to work to deadlines and reprioritise tasks when necessary.

Excellent analytical skills, impeccable attention to detail, a high level of numeracy and intermediate Excel skills are all ‘must haves’ too, as is proficiency in the main Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook and Word. Additionally, it would be an advantage if you have experience working in a Charity and have associated experience of managing restricted funds and fundraising.

Introducing Harington

Harington is an Ofsted registered specialist college based in North London rated good, working with around 52 young people with learning differences aged 16-25. Our mission is to create an inclusive environment, that delivers outstanding personalised education, learning, and support, which leads to further education, employment opportunities, and a fulfilling life for each of our students. 

We specialise in horticulture, retail and general employability. Our students undertake individualised learning programmes and supported internships that lead to vocational qualifications and achieving other aims. We support the wellbeing of our young people through providing mentoring, counselling, enrichment and other one-to-one support.

Our charity has two learning centres in Highgate and Hornsey. We also operate a gardening business and two charity shops, providing income for our charity, work experience placements for our students and employment for 14 young people. We work with local employers and partners to provide work experience and other opportunities for our students.

The Role

This is an exciting time to join the Harington, as we have recently appointed a new Principal/CEO. We want to ensure that the Harington is able to fulfil and secure its mission to benefit our young people, both now and into the future.

In the next year we will consolidate what we do well and seek to strengthen the areas where we could do better. The Interim COO will work with all stakeholders and closely with the Principal/CEO to review, plan and implement the necessary changes. The role is initially for 9 months, but it is anticipated that it will continue after the initial review and planning period.  

This Interim Chief Operating Officer role will:-

1)Support the development and implementation of the strategic plan and through the annual Operations Plan and Budget, and be responsible for measuring and evaluating progress against goals and targets

2)Drive excellence and efficiency across Finance, HR, Governance, Operations, and IT, strengthening and embedding the right policies, systems, processes, technology and infrastructure ensuring seamless execution and robust management of risk.

3)Manage our three commercial businesses (two charity shops and Harington Gardeners) so they meet our social, learning and business aims

4)Oversee Harington’s fundraising so we secure the income we need from trusts and foundations, individual donors and community fundraising

5)Ensure effective management of the buildings and estate of a multi-site organisation, and the support services required to provide a suitable and safe environment for learning and working, that meets the required health and safety standards

6) Ensure that all staff feel valued and supported, with effective management of staff, operations and administration

As Senior Philanthropy Manager you will step into a newly created position in the team that will focus on creating and implementing a compelling major donor programme.

As Senior Philanthropy Manager you will:

• create and deliver the major donor strategy focused on driving growth and income from HNWIs;

Hybrid working, 3-4dpw in Royal Albert Hall, Kensington office. This role will require occasional evening and weekend work in line with the Hall’s events programme, in particular those attended by your donors and prospects.

We are a multi-award-winning, creative, and innovative organisation, and the Database Officer is a role at Al-Khair Foundation, sitting within the Database team and delivering on a range of database tasks and processes utilising our Salesforce database. We’re looking for someone who has a good working knowledge of database systems and who understands their importance to organisations like Al-Khair Foundation. We seek someone who is naturally process-driven and has a great eye for detail. You will be responsible for specific monthly processes, such as organisation income reconciliation and ongoing data uploads and cleansing for the Fundraising teams. You will also become a champion for Salesforce and understand the importance of CRM to help Al-Khair Foundation achieve our goals and provide a better service to our donors, supporters, and participants.

Your Role

Al-Khair Foundation uses Salesforce to manage relationships with our donors, supporters, and stakeholders, including recording all donations made to the organisation. Al-Khair Foundation’s Database Officer will be responsible for the monthly delivery of the income and data reconciliation processes for the Fundraising teams, which includes liaising with a wide range of external agencies and the website to successfully download and query files, update and create new supporter records on the database, process cheques and payment requests, and work closely with the Finance team to ensure all anticipated and banked income tallies correctly.

You will also work closely with colleagues in the Database team to support and maintain regular database processes, data cleansing, and other database-related functions that happen on a monthly or quarterly basis. This may include responding to and being responsible for Support Ticket queries in relation to income, data, and/or the database generally and working with external database agencies such as our web platform partners and Salesforce.

Aside from these core duties, from time to time, you may also carry out general administrative tasks on behalf of the Supporter Engagement team. This may include supporting the Supporter Care Assistant during busy periods with customer care via email and telephone and recording updates, processing invoices, and maintaining and updating team rotas and trackers.

Your Responsibilities

• Delivering the monthly data reconciliation and income reconciliation processes, which include downloading and uploading data files.
• Supporting the Fundraising teams with their monthly income recording and reconciliation.
• Liaising with external agencies and the Finance team.
• Checking for and correcting inaccuracies and updating supporter records.
• Running reports for the Fundraising and Finance teams.
• Maintaining and carrying out regular database processes, including data cleansing.
• Supporting the Database Coordinator and the Senior Data Manager to encourage best-practice use of the database across the organisation, including assisting with onboarding and new user training and being on hand for day-to-day technical support when the Database Coordinator is unavailable.

• Supporting with the ticketing system as a second point of contact in the Database team.

ABOUT BLACK ROOTZ

Black Rootz is a multigenerational growing project providing opportunities for Black and racially minoritised people to grow food for themselves, their families and their communities. Black Rootz was established in 2019 by a collective of Black growers in Haringey who recognised the need to organise to challenge the deep inequalities in the growing and food systems. Over the past 5 years, Black Rootz has developed a holistic practice for Black and racially minoritised communities incorporating intergenerational knowledge transfer, increased access to land and food sovereignty, regenerative environmental practices and reduced food inequality.

Black Rootz has been incubated as a project within The Ubele Initiative since 2019. As an established name in the growing community, it is now building towards an independent future.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Project Manager is a new role that will provide hands on management capacity to Black Rootz. The role will bring experience and energy to support the delivery and continued development of the project’s core activities; the Community Growing Programme and a new workshop series. The Project Manager will take on a management position and, with support from Ubele, help the project to navigate decisions that will enable Black Rootz to achieve its overall social, environmental, and operational ambitions. 

The successful candidate will be central in Black Rootz’ journey towards a more independent and sustainable future. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with the complexity andholistic nature of Black Rootz and will be committed to its values. As a small team, the Project Manager will be as comfortable making plans and big decisions as they are rolling their sleeves up and being hands on to support the team. Summary of Role

Working under the direction of our Centre Managers at Arc in the Park and Abbey Hub, Youth Workers are key to ensuring the successful delivery of our provision for young people. The role will include the delivery of specific youth work projects and programmes delivered in accordance with the policies and procedures of AAA, helping young people to develop personally, socially and educationally. The role will include providing support to vulnerable and at-risk service users.

Responsibilities

·Providing for the social, personal, educational and leisure needs of young people by assisting in the running, organisation and delivery of AAA youth projects, including building-based and detached street work projects

·Establishing positive relationships with all young people supporting and enabling them to increase their confidence and realise their potential, fully integrating them into all project activities. 

·Coordinating resources and developing opportunities and activities for young people which reflects their particular needs and circumstances. 

·Facilitating the active involvement of the young people in the planning and development of the project programme. 

·Facilitating the positive integration of young people with disabilities, behavioural difficulties and/or special needs within the project. 

·Mentoring young people by supporting positive behaviours, delivering life-skills sessions and workshops.

Regional Youth Worker - London
Salary: £27,000
Location: Flexible, based at our office in Aldgate East, with travel throughout the London region and occasional remote working.

We are looking for an experienced Youth Worker, to deliver training sessions and projects to young people through youth centres, community groups, schools and alternative provisions across the London Region, and to ensure our programmes are fit for the future.

We empower young people with the skills to become part of the solution to violence by developing the skills and confidence to save lives and increasing their understanding of the medical and psychological consequences of violence.

As the StreetDoctors Youth Worker in the Region, you will deliver high quality training, develop new partnerships and maintain positive relationships.

The key areas of focus include:

● To deliver training sessions to young people and partners to required quantity and quality, and support the development, testing and implementation of new training content.

About On Your Side

On Your Side is the UK-wide support and reporting service for East and Southeast Asian communities who experience racism and/or any forms of hate.

Launched in August 2022, the service includes a 24/7 freephone helpline available in East and Southeast Asian languages; a website with reporting forms and resources; and ongoing community-based support delivered by trained casework advocates. We work to ensure that those who  experience racism and/or hate have access to the highest levels of culturally competent support while building a better picture of the nature and range of incidents so they can be better prevented.

Funded by the UK Department for Levelling Up Housing and Communities, On Your Side is delivered by a consortium of 9 organisations including East and Southeast Asian led community groups alongside national hate crime reporting and hate crime prevention organisations. This role will be based at the consortium lead organisation, identity-based violence prevention charity Protection Approaches.

About the role

Based at Protection Approaches, the Project Officer will report directly to the On Your Side Project Manager, and work closely with Protection Approaches’ team, On Your Side Casework Coordinator, Outreach Officer, and all consortium partners.

This is a new and exciting role that will be central to the delivery and development of the On Your Side service as it moves into a new phase over the next 12 months as an established, sustainable service.

In this role the Project Officer will develop their project management skills as they work with the Project Manager on overall coordination of the On Your Side service including coordination of the project delivery team across partner organisations to ensure they are meeting agreed objectives to agreed timelines.

You will oversee several distinct areas of work including overseeing the strategy and work of the On Your Side Outreach Officer in developing and implementing new engagement, outreach, communications and public education strategies. You will also oversee the publishing of a quarterly data report, and ensuring data is being recorded appropriately and accurately.

You will represent the service at high profile meetings and events including meeting with current and future funders, representatives from national and local government, other policy-makers, police and, academic experts to build the profile of the service, improve its support methodologies and impact, and assist in the development and implementation of sustainability and fundraising plans for the service.

You will be trained by the Protection Approaches Outreach team on delivery of hate crime workshops, and other trainings and use those skills to deliver awareness sessions for On Your Side, raising awareness of the service and it’s benefits while supporting ESEA community members to better understand their rights and how they can tackle racism and hate.

The role is a 12-month fixed term contract. During this period we expect to secure additional resources to ensure the ongoing delivery of this service and extend the role of Project Officer.

The successful candidate will:

• Assist the Project Manager in overall coordination of the On Your Side service including coordination of the project delivery team across partner organisations to ensure they are meeting agreed objectives to agreed timelines
• Oversee the work and strategy of the On Your Side Outreach Officer to develop and implement engagement, outreach, and public education strategies to increase knowledge about the service and use of the service
• Increase the profile and visibility of On Your Side particularly among key stakeholders in ESEA communities and service provider to establish partnerships in outreach or referrals
• Represent the service at high profile external meetings, such as with funders, or stakeholders in regional or national government
• Represent the service at events and workshops including delivery of workshops about hate crime, the service, or other related topics
• Build networks across the hate crime prevention, reporting and support sectors
• Organise and chair meetings with partners and external consultative groups
• Identify lessons of community-led change to inform policy and advocacy activities

• Regularly review incident reports to verify data accuracy, ensuring cases are appropriately followed and recorded
• Collaborate closely with the data team to ensure publication of quarterly anonymised and aggregated data reports, disseminated to relevant stakeholders

• Commission and liaise with external contractors to deliver services
• Oversee communications including developing social media, website, and other communications copy, writing press releases, and writing opinion pieces

Spitalfields Crypt Trust (SCT) is an East London charity embedded in the local community, providing practical support and training to people affected by homelessness and addictions so they can rebuild their lives. We have a Recovery Hub in Shoreditch, where we run an abstinence-based residential recovery service (‘Acorn House’), and a Training and Development service, including tutor-led art, creative writing, digital skills, gardening, literacy, and woodwork. In addition, we run Housing First and Supported Housing services, both in East London. We also have eight charity shops and two social enterprises, which give us a presence in the wider East London community while generating valuable funds. 

Our ‘SCT in the Community’ strategy seeks to make SCT’s core offer combining enterprise, housing support, therapeutic support, training and development more available to all the neighbourhoods where we have a presence.  SCT’s shops are great opportunities for local people to connect with SCT in many different ways, to build relationships, participate, and celebrate their gifts.  This is an approach we are  keen to develop alongside our accompanying strategy to develop our ‘SCT Women’s Service’ to provide residential treatment for women.

Role and Responsibilities: 

We are dedicated to supporting those who access our Training and Development service to explore further Education, Training, and Employment (ETE) opportunities as part of SCT’s Progressions Programme, both within and outside of SCT. This includes those in early recovery who are resident in our abstinent-based recovery service (‘Acorn House’), as well as those in our move-on house and the wider community who may be more established in their recovery. SCT’s Progression Worker supports those accessing our services to explore ETE opportunities, offering tailored, individually specific support to help them reach their full potential. SCT’s Progression Programme is centred on empowering people in recovery to cultivate confidence and realise their potential. 

SCT Progressions Programme 

1. Identifying SCT residents and students ready to pursue ETE opportunities: 

• Collaborate with SCT tutors and managers, particularly the Therapeutic Programme Manager and Supported Housing Manager, to identify those who may benefit from the support on offer. 

• Cultivate strong relationships with SCT’s social enterprises and shops to establish clear pathways for volunteering and trainee opportunities for those who access our services. 

• Conduct assessments, develop and implement individualised Progression Plans, and evaluate progress according to each person’s needs, strengths and aspirations, involving key internal and external partners as appropriate. 

1. Providing information, advice, and guidance regarding ETE opportunities: 

• Offer information, initial advice, and guidance on employment, voluntary work, and further education opportunities. 

• Promote SCT's work to external partners to maximise ETE opportunities for those who access our services. 

• Make referrals for placements, volunteering experiences, apprenticeship schemes, colleges, and other external programmes. 

• Support individual users of services with referrals and applications for ETE opportunities.

• Maintain partnerships with relevant ETE providers to offer diverse opportunities to users of services. 

• Work with corporate partners offering employability opportunities to users of services. 

• Design, develop, and deliver employability workshops as required. 

1. Oversight of users of SCT services volunteering in SCT’s social enterprises and shops: 

• Match potential volunteers to SCT volunteering opportunities. 

• Support potential volunteers with applications for volunteering opportunities. 

• Liaise with colleagues who will be managing volunteering experiences. 

• Conduct risk assessments. 

• Support volunteers on an ongoing basis. 

• Hold regular review meetings with volunteers, and SCT colleagues.

1. Monitoring, evaluation, and reporting: 

• Maintain accurate records of activities, outcomes, and feedback, including monitoring of In-Form, SCT’s bespoke CRM data management system.

• Input relevant data to In-Form to track participants’ progress. 

• Identify success stories of participants overcoming significant barriers to learning and work. 

• Collaborate with colleagues to celebrate success stories through various channels. 

• Participate in quality improvement activities, staff development opportunities, and self-evaluation. 

• Assist Fundraising, Communications, and Marketing colleagues in preparing funding applications and reports. 

1. Providing Ongoing Support to Progression Alumni: 

• Conduct regular check-in calls/meetings with users of services.

• Demonstrated experience engaging vulnerable, long-term unemployed adults in relevant educational, employment, and training programmes.

Role Purpose

The Community Engagement Manager (Maternity Cover) role will be a critical piece of our Community Programmes team, which provides support to founders at every stage of their startup journey. The Community Programme offering includes a roster of events including panels, masterclasses and workshops, as well as mentoring and coaching opportunities, and peer-to-peer engagement opportunities. We work with an exciting range of partners across the private and third sectors to connect underrepresented founders to networks and capital that will help launch and grow their mission-driven businesses.

We are looking for a driven, process-oriented self-starter who is interested in a role that will expose them to a variety of activities across the Community portfolio. As the Community Engagement Manager, you’ll work directly with the Co-Head of Programmes to ensure the systems we need are in place to support the team to deliver their support offering and that we are constantly learning and evolving our programme offering from Founder feedback and engagement.

Graduate Community Engagement

• Maintain the community engagement strategy for enhanced engagement between founders and a more cohesive founder journey across all stages
•  Maintain the end-to-end design and management of the founder experience in the graduate community platform (Circle)
• Helping founders to widen their networks and facilitate connections that can provide critical support and direction via our graduate community platform
• Work collaboratively across the Programmes team to ensure entrepreneurs who engage with Hatch are connected to the best programmes, resources and offers for them

Who are we?

Myaware is the only charity in the UK dedicated solely to the care and support of people affected by myasthenia. 

We are working hard to raise awareness, as it is a little-unknown condition. We provide support for people with myasthenia and their families, whilst offering advice and tips for living with the illness. 

We also fund the research that brings us closer to finding a cure as well as funding specialists nurses and advisors.

About the role

The main purpose of the role is to coordinate the Methodist Church’s response to the arrival of Hong Kong nationals in Great Britain.  

This will involve liaising with the Methodist Church in Hong Kong and with circuits and local churches in Britain to ensure pastoral support for Hong Kong Methodists as they make the transition to this country.  You will help to motivate local circuits and churches to welcome and integrate the new arrivals into congregations, and you will provide support and training to facilitate this.  You will also develop connections with Cantonese-speaking groups and congregations already in existence, and may be involved in facilitating the formation of new ones.  Establishing connections and fostering supportive relationships to enable an effective network that brings together Methodists from Hong Kong and British churches, is key to your role.

Bilingual in written and spoken Cantonese and English and a confident communicator in both languages.  You enjoy bringing people together and helping form new groups and congregations.  As this role will entail working with circuits and local churches, you will need strong project management and administrative skills.
