We are looking for an Event & Fundraising Coordinator to join us and lead the planning and delivery of fundraising, community engagement, and awareness events across the UK. You will ensure events are impactful, compliant, and financially successful while strengthening relationships with donors, volunteers, and communities.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver a calendar of fundraising and community events (charity dinners, runs/walks, food drives, exhibitions, corporate and faith events)
- Manage budgets, suppliers, venues, risk assessments, and event logistics
- Develop ticketing, sponsorship packages, and donation mechanisms to maximise income
- Monitor income/expenditure and produce post-event reports (including ROI)
- Recruit, brief, and supervise volunteers
- Build relationships with Gurdwaras, community leaders, councils, schools, and corporate partners
- Support marketing through social media content, promotional materials, and on-site storytelling
- Ensure compliance with health & safety, safeguarding, GDPR, and charity governance requirements
- Track KPIs and produce evaluations and recommendations
Essential
- 2+ years’ event management experience (charity sector preferred)
- Fundraising or sponsorship experience
- Strong organisation, budgeting, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Flexible to work evenings/weekends and travel across the UK
- Knowledge of H&S, safeguarding, and GDPR
- Proactive, adaptable, culturally sensitive, and committed to humanitarian values.
Desirable
- Punjabi language skills
- Social media/digital marketing experience

Our Senior Coordinator is primarily responsible for all Member and supporter engagement and stewardship across the year. They build and develop relationships with individuals, support event delivery and manage all communications from content creation to delivery. This includes e-newsletters, fundraising appeals and ad-hoc communications that increase engagement, retain loyalty and raise funds.
We are looking for someone who is creative, has strong communication skills, the ability to work independently, and take ownership of projects – ensuring they run smoothly and effectively. You’ll have a sound understanding of thoughtful stakeholder engagement, marketing communications and tools, and enjoy sharing with people the impact of their support.

Role

Salary: £33,000– £37,000 gross per annum at 1.0 FTE (full-time equivalent), dependent on experience

Location: This role can be hybrid, or office based. At a minimum, candidates will be required to work from the London office at least 2 days a week, as well as be able to attend ad hoc events and away days in person.
Safe Passage International (SPI) is recruiting a Development Lead/Coordinator (Fundraising). We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced, and motivated individual to join the Fundraising Team to help grow and diversify our core private funding/income streams in its invaluable and ground-breaking work to ensure that safe routes exist and are accessible for all people seeking asylum.
Reporting to the Development Manager (Partnerships), you will coordinate the day today delivery of our fundraising strategy, with a particular focus on high value giving and building strong, values aligned relationships with supporters.
You will play a key role in turning strategy into action. This includes nurturing relationships with major donors, trusts and foundations, and helping to develop new income such as institutional funding or legacy giving, to ensure our funding is resilient and sustainable.
You will work as part of a collaborative Fundraising Team and closely with colleagues across Safe Passage International, including teams in the UK, Greece, and France.
We are looking for good transferrable leadership and organisational skills, as detailed in the Person Specification. Experience in a similar role would be welcome, but this could also be your first paid position in the NGO sector, or you could be returning to work after time out. A full induction will be provided, alongside a dedicated training budget to support you to grow and develop within your role.
