We’re looking for a Research Funding Officer to join our team
Salary: £34,754
Base: Central Edinburgh/hybrid
Hours: Full time and permanent. 35 hours a week over core working hours of 10am – 3pm, Monday to Friday, with a one-hour lunch break. The office is open 8am – 7pm daily and our hybrid working policy requires all full-time employees to work at least two days a week in the Edinburgh office.

About the role and what we’re looking for
What will you be doing?
· Supporting applicants from all over the world to bring us their new ideas in cancer research by providing guidance in a timely manner. You’ll receive and process discovery cancer research funding applications, ensuring validity and completeness.
· Leading on the expert peer review process. You’ll identify appropriate expert reviewers to ensure that the charity receives high quality, independent review advice to inform funding decisions.
· Managing funded grants. You’ll build relationships with grantholders and process change requests to best serve the science of our funded awards.
· Working with partner organisations. You’ll collaborate with our research partners to manage co-funded projects as well as providing funding information for internal and external purposes.
· Demonstrating our values. As a Curestarter, you’ll demonstrate our values every day - curious, united, real, entrepreneurial and spirited – as you help bring about our vision that no life is cut short by cancer.
What are we looking for?
· With a higher degree in a biomedical related field, you have excellent scientific understanding of molecular and cell biology as well as a broad knowledge of cancer research.
· You have a good understanding of research funding processes, particularly peer review and conflicts of interest.
· You’re a collaborative person who works respectfully in a diverse team of experts to deliver work that makes an impact.
· As a detailed planner and organiser, you thrive on deadlines and feel confident prioritising your time across multiple, concurrent projects.

DEBT ADVICE CASEWORKER
OASIS HUB WATERLOO
PART TIME: 24-32 hours per week
FIXED-TERM CONTRACT: 12 months
SALARY: £18,787 for 0.6 FTE and £25,049 for 0.8FTE
We have an exciting opportunity for a Debt Advice Caseworker to join our team at Oasis Waterloo. In the heart of the Waterloo community we run a busy and vibrant community space, open to all. A vital part of this work is our advice services – providing free and accessible debt, benefits, housing and immigration advice to local people. This work has grown over the last few years and we are now looking for an experienced and innovative advice worker, to provide debt advice within the service.

This role is based in our community space at the Oasis Centre and will include supporting with community drop-ins and walk-ins, as well as 1-2-1 appointments, and behind-the-scenes casework
The successful post holder must have:
• Experience providing face-to-face advice
• A willingness to work with people who have multiple and complex needs
• A recognised advice qualification or equivalent experience
• Attention to detail and up-to-date knowledge of advice practice and policy

Lead Youth Development Worker

We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Youth Development Worker to join our team. This role will lead and develop our youth work offer across the 4 villages area of North Bristol (Lawrence Weston, Shirehampton, Sea Mills and Avonmouth).
We’re looking for an individual who has a passion and flair for supporting young people, promoting a sense of inclusion and belonging. The right candidate will have experience of both targeted and open access provision and a desire to enable young people to promote their voice and views to shape the future of youth work in the area.
The successful post holder must have:
· Good standard of basic education, including English and Maths Level 2
· Level 3 or equivalent in youth work
· Experience of leading and developing youth programmes (both open access and targeted)
· Ability to build long lasting, positive relationships with both young people
