As Partnerships Officer, you will play a central role in managing high-quality relationships with Martingale’s growing network of partners, while also supporting the governance and operational functions of the organisation. Working closely with the CEO, senior leadership, and our existing Partnerships Officer, you will help ensure that funders, supporters, and mission-aligned organisations feel valued, engaged, and recognised for their contribution to Martingale’s success.
A key part of your role will be to strengthen relationships with funders and university partners, building long-term commitment to Martingale’s mission. You will manage relationships with multiple departments across our ten partner universities, coordinating internally to ensure these partnerships run smoothly. Alongside this, you will support the operation of Martingale’s key governance bodies, including the Advisory Board, Student Advisory Board, Academic Advisory Committee and Scholarship Selection Committee, ensuring timely communications, accurate records, and positive engagement with members. You will also lead on partnerships with aligned charities that connect our Scholars to earlier stages of the STEM pipeline.
You will be responsible for communications and reporting across our supporter network, ensuring partnerships are effective and mutually beneficial. We are looking for a strong communicator with experience in partnership management and external relations. You may have demonstrated this through cross-organisational projects, even if it was not your primary role. You will bring excellent organisational skills, a proactive mindset, and a strong alignment with Martingale’s mission. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead on the delivery of the partner relations strategy, working with our 40+ partners to effectively build long-term successful relationships. In collaboration with the CEO, you will support new and existing funders, in-kind supporters, partner charities, and Ambassadors, ensuring they feel valued, informed and connected to Martingale’s mission.
- Strengthen and deepen relationships with partners through a structured and personalised programme of engagement, recognition, and reporting, including invitations to events throughout the academic year.
- Oversight of all university partnerships, including reporting, communications, and course confirmations. This will include working closely with all Martingale staff for effective management of key partnership contacts across development offices, multiple departments, and doctoral programmes.
- Oversee the smooth running of Martingale’s governance bodies, building on the existing governance framework to ensure continuity across the different groups.
- Liaise with the team to maintain accurate records of both financial and in-kind contributions.
- Lead on the development and delivery of the annual impact report, alongside bespoke reports for funders as appropriate.
- Accurate record keeping of partnership engagement on Martingale’s CRM.
- Build a range of case studies on Scholars, partner universities, funders, and other supporters to strengthen Martingale’s messaging to new funders.
- Work closely with the other Partnerships Officer to ensure fundraising campaign targets are met, providing relevant materials and support where needed.
- Support in the delivery of key Martingale events such as Solve for X and our annual Welcome Dinner

Through our trusted relationships with schools we distributed 10,000 warm, high-quality coats worth £600,000 to the children who needed them most. Winning the Business Charity Awards ‘Fashion & Retail’ Award, and shortlisted for two further awards, the campaign has been praised not just for providing warmth, but for restoring dignity, inclusion, and school readiness to thousands of children.
The All Dressed Up campaign—developed with World Book Day and Rubies Masquerade—confronted the often-overlooked issue of financial exclusion on key celebration days. More than 100,000 free dressing up costumes worth £1.34 million were delivered to children from low-income families. By enabling participation in events like World Book Day, we helped spark imagination, joy, and belonging for children who might otherwise feel left out—boosting self-esteem and supporting a positive connection to learning.Furthermore, helping attract children into school on a day which often sees struggling parents keep their children at home.
Alongside these national campaigns, Parentkind supports families year-round through a growing suite of programmes designed to inform, prepare and empower parents. Our Be School Ready programme offers crucial guidance and confidence to parents preparing their children for the leap into primary education. With a mix of practical advice, developmental tips, and reassurance, through the distribution of 150,000 copies of Be School Ready and an online campaign, it supports families at one of the most formative moments in their child’s life.
We also deliver a wide-ranging series of live expert webinars and parent-friendly resources, covering topics such as managing anxiety, supporting special educational needs, navigating school transitions, and building home-school partnerships. These resources, developed in consultation with experts and rooted in lived parent experience, equip families to feel informed and empowered, no matter what challenges arise.
Our direct support of schools
Our collaboration with Asda on Cashpot for Schools is another example of unlocking support at scale. This innovative community-led funding model allowed shoppers to nominate and fund their local schools simply through everyday spending. This campaign has generated £5.78 million for schools during the past twelve months, supporting everything from basic classroom supplies to vital extracurricular programmes and pupil wellbeing initiatives. Also shortlisted for a Business Charity Award, it is already a model for community-driven philanthropy.
In April, we launched our Parent-Friendly Schools Accreditation Programme, designed to formally recognise schools that go above and beyond in fostering positive, inclusive relationships with parents. The accreditation celebrates schools that actively listen to parent voices, make engagement easy and accessible, and embed family partnership in their culture. It is a practical and inspiring tool to drive long-term change in the sector and offers a roadmap for schools wanting to strengthen their community.
Our focus on Policy & Research
Our work is grounded in evidence. Since 2023, we have conducted the UK’s largest annual parent survey: the National Parent Survey. With approaching 6,000 participants providing 130,000 bits of data to provide invaluable insights into the struggles, concerns, hopes and fears of parents. The findings are fed directly into government consultations and have already informed national debates on school funding, attendance, mental health support, SEND provision, and curriculum reform.
In each of the past two years the number of policymakers, educators, parents and researchers accessing the National Parent Survey exceeded seven thousand, and the survey featured in more than two hundred media outlets each year.Excitingly, the Times & Sunday Times are partnering with Parentkind to raise the profile even further in September 2025 and the survey will be launched at a lighthouse event featuring the Secretary of State for Education (Bridget Phillipson), the Ofsted Chief Inspector of Schools (Sir Martyn Oliver), the CEO of Mumsnet (Justine Roberts), the Children’s Commissioner (Dame Rachel De Souza), and our own Chief Executive (Jason Elsom).

Main purpose and scope of this role:
With guidance from the Head of Corporate Partnerships, you will identify, secure, and manage new corporate partnerships to fund Parentkind's mission.
You will build and maintain a new business pipeline to support a sustainable corporate partnerships income stream, targeting a wide range of partnerships (including COTY, corporate grants, commercial and strategic relationships) with regional and national businesses with the capacity to support at a 5,6, and 7-figure level.
You will carry out prospect cultivation, develop tailored proosals and pitches, and manage corporate partner relationships to secure excellent supporter experiences.
By collaborating with key internal stakeholders and securing approirate partnership opportunities, you will enhance support for parents, schools, children and young people.
Duties and key responsibilities
New Business
- Identify and research prospective corporate partners who align with Parentkind’s mission; complete due diligence and compile reports and partner profiles.
- Planning: proactively plan and drive tactical and timely approaches to potential partners.
- Proposal development: produce high‑quality proposals, applications and pitches to secure financial contributions from corporate partners.
- Lead management: respond promptly to new‑business leads, delivering excellent relationship management from initial contact to formal partnership.
- Resource development: contribute to the development and maintenance of key resources for fundraising activities.
- Community Team contribution: contribute to the Community Team’s fundraising initiatives for PTA members.
Partnership Management
- Account management: oversee and manage relationships with selected corporate partners in Parentkind’s portfolio.
- Partnership planning: create and deliver comprehensive, bespoke plans for each partnership, considering all financial and non‑financial opportunities to generate support and mutual value.
- Regular communications: hold regular meetings with partners to ensure partnership objectives are on track; propose compelling partnership content and campaigns.
- Impact reporting: create compelling reports for partners that demonstrate the impact of their contributions and support renewals.
- Coordination of contributions: coordinate gift‑in‑kind/pro‑bono contributions from partners in collaboration with internal teams.
Relationship Management
- Relationship building: cultivate relationships with prospects, developing tailored engagement strategies and keeping key contacts informed of our work.
- Partnership agreements: negotiate clear, mutually understood and appropriate contracts with new corporate partners.
- Network utilisation: leverage organisational networks for introductions and referrals; collaborate with the Head of Corporate Partnerships on network mapping; identify links to target organisations and engage key stakeholders for introductions, referrals and nominations.
- Representation: represent Parentkind at events and networking opportunities.
- Internal collaboration: foster positive relationships across the organisation, ensuring fundraising activities align with the charity’s needs and priorities.
Managing systems
- CRM management: maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records on Parentkind’s CRM (Salesforce), tracking all corporate partnerships activity.
- Monitoring and reporting: contribute to regular monitoring and reporting on corporate partnerships.
- Process management: manage internal processes related to corporate partnerships, including use of third‑party platforms.
- Record keeping: maintain and communicate detailed records of corporate partnerships activities to inform future planning and strategy.
- Finance processes: ensure all corporate partnerships income is accurately coded, allocated and reconciled in line with agreed finance processes.
- Process improvement: contribute to the development of effective processes and systems for managing corporate fundraising activities.
General responsibilities
- Ensure Data Protection procedures are followed at all times.
- Stay informed on relevant issues, educational policy and legislation affecting key audiences.

Summary
Working with the Philanthropy team, the Senior Philanthropy Manager – Trusts & Foundations will play a key role in driving new high-value relationships with Trusts & Foundations and raising six and seven figure income for our three charities: Guy’s and St Thomas’ Charity, Evelina London Children’s Charity, and Guy’s Cancer Charity.
As a member of the Philanthropy team, this role will work with colleagues and the Head of Philanthropy to help shape and develop our new fundraising strategy. The Senior Philanthropy Manager – Trusts & Foundations will predominantly look after relationships with Trusts & Foundations, but there may be a small portfolio of Major Donors within the prospect pool, which may grow over time depending on the demands of the Philanthropy team.
The role will be responsible for developing and managing relationships with trustees, influencers and staff of grant-giving organisations, leading on often complex, large-scale projects and solicitations. As well as sharing team responsibility for achieving ambitious annual income targets, as a senior member of staff, the Senior Philanthropy Manager – Trusts & Foundations will be expected to play a strategic role within the team, proactively leading on new initiatives, decision making and problem solving.

Key Responsibilities
Communication and networking
- Write clear and compelling fundraising proposals to charitable Trusts and Foundations that have the capacity to make six- and seven-figure grants and donations.
- Build effective, senior-level relationships with trustees, influencers and staff involved with charitable Trusts and Foundations, as appropriate meeting and liaising directly with funders as the ‘face’ of Guy’s & St Thomas’ Foundation, while also supporting senior staff, academics and clinicians to communicate with funders and work to a brief to achieve objectives.
- Work with academics and clinicians where required/appropriate, to develop the strongest possible case for support for major projects, for use in presentations, proposals and reports to Trusts and Foundations.
- Work with the key stakeholders to ensure an effective stewardship programme is in place for Trusts and Foundations donors, including reports, letters or other documents that may at times deal with complex, contentious and sensitive situations.
- Act as a Trusts and Foundations specialist on behalf of Guy’s & St Thomas’ Foundation.
Decision making, planning and problem solving
- Identify a range of internal fundraising priorities that will engage the interest and charitable objectives of Trusts and Foundations.
- Work with the Prospect Research team to build an ongoing pipeline of high-calibre, qualified prospects with the capacity to give significant support to priority projects.
- Balance the coordination of a large number of complex relationships and fundraising projects with the ability to respond appropriately to new opportunities as they arise.
- Prioritise effectively, balancing urgent vs. important calls on your time, and making decisions about how to use your resources to maximise income for the team.
- Take a long-term planning approach to the Trusts and Foundations portfolio, mapping out donor development plans for key accounts, and developing a calendar of activity for the year ahead, taking into account key deadlines and interdependencies.
- Make independent professional decisions and advise colleagues as appropriate.
Service delivery
- Generate annual income according to agreed targets – both individual and team.
- Manage and implement the Trusts and Foundations programme, and work with colleagues and the Head of team to develop and implement strategy and plans.
- Achieve KPIs as agreed with the Head of team, e.g. for meetings, pledged income.
- Establish gift agreements with funders that meet both their and the Foundation’s needs.
- Contribute proactively to team planning and performance monitoring, ensuring the programme is strategically focused to maximise its potential for sustainable growth.
- Show enterprise and creativity in developing Trusts and Foundations fundraising.
- Respond appropriately to stakeholders regarding requests for fundraising assistance.
Analysis and research
- Contribute to team-wide evaluation of the Trusts and Foundations programme in order to inform annual planning and wider departmental strategy.
- Ensure that donor details and communications relating to your portfolio are adequately stored on the database and run data analysis and modelling as required.
- Benchmark activity with other relevant organisations and use statistical results and trends to support new activity.
- Undertake research, and work effectively with the Prospect Research team, in order to inform prospect cultivation.
Team work, teaching and learning support
- Form and communicate a clear vision of what is to be achieved, sharing plans with other teams as appropriate.
- Present at staff training and induction events as required.
- Work with other high-value fundraising teams, as well as the Prospect Research team, to ensure a coordinated approach to prospects.
- Positively promote the work of the Trusts and Foundations team, both internally and externally, and represent the team – and the wider organisation – at stewardship and cultivation events, as well as at sector conferences and meetings.
- Assist with other campaigns and special projects as and when necessary.
- Provide occasional cover for other colleagues within the team and wider department.
- Undertake other duties as directed by the Head of Philanthropy.
Working Environment:
The post holder should expect to:
- Work in a hybrid hot desk environment, generally working 2 days a week in the London office and three from home.
- Be responsible for the input and maintenance of databases and files relevant to the post requirements.
- Will occasionally be required to attend events in the evening and at weekends.
Role responsibilities are not exhaustive, and you would be reasonably expected to take on wider tasks that are commensurate with the level of your role.

The Talent Set is delighted to be partnering with a leading national health charity to recruit ttwo Community Fundraisers, including one covering the West London and surrounding areas such as Hertfordshire, Slough, Reading / Southampton. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an award-winning organisation dedicated to driving change for people affected by serious health conditions. In this role, you’ll engage individuals, community groups, regional corporates, and volunteers, growing income through inspiring stewardship and imaginative campaigns such as themed bake sales and sponsored walks. With your energy, creativity, and relationship-building skills, you’ll help expand grassroots support and raise vital funds—contributing directly to the charity’s mission of delivering life-changing outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a regional community fundraising strategy, aligning with the charity’s wider objectives.
- Meet and exceed fundraising KPIs and contribute to overall annual income targets.
- Recruit, build, and maintain relationships with supporters, volunteers, and community groups to drive participation and fundraising.
- Recruiting, train, and manage a network of regional volunteers to support fundraising activities.
- Work with internal teams to identify and maximise regional fundraising opportunities.
- Use CRM systems to track supporter engagement and tailor stewardship strategies based on data insights.
Person Specification:
- Demonstrated success in a community, corporate, or events fundraising role, with a track record of achieving income targets.
- Skilled in recruiting, supporting, and engaging supporters in fundraising activities and initiatives.
- Ability to develop and deliver effective community fundraising strategies, identifying opportunities to maximise engagement and income.
- Confident and persuasive communicator, adept at building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including individuals, groups, and corporate partners.
- Able to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and adapt to a fast-paced environment while maintaining high attention to detail.
- Comfortable using CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and digital fundraising platforms, with the ability to analyse data to inform fundraising strategies.
