Joe Lyons was a caring son, brother, a wonderful friend and a talented, award-winning Radio Producer. Known as “Producer Joe”, he became Senior Producer of the Roman Kemp Breakfast Show at Capital Radio. Very sadly in August 2020 Joe passed away in totally unexpected circumstances at just 31 years of age.

During Joe’s life he brought a cheeky spirit and constant laughter to all those that met him. His selflessness and commitment to helping others touched so many, and in loving memory and as a legacy to Joe, his friends and family set up Joe's Buddy Line in January 2021.

We are now looking for a resilient, driven and inspirational individual to provide energy, strategic vision and operational management for our small and growing charity.

The successful candidate will bring a track record of effectively overseeing the day to day service delivery for a small charity, prudent financial management and an innovative approach to source and secure new opportunities for the Charity.

About the Team

The Committed Giving Team is a high achieving team responsible for the acquisition and retention of regular donors. The team work across 3 key areas; Non-dialogue Acquisition, Direct Dialogue Acquisition (Face to Face channels), Stewardship,. The team work closely together with the shared aim of delivering exceptional supporter experience and raising the reliable income the hospital needs to help provide extraordinary care for seriously ill children and their families.

About You

You will be a creative, self-motivated, and organised project manager with experience of working within a diverse, target-driven team. With a keen eye for detail and able to manage multiple projects at once, you will have a direct marketing background, ideally within the charity sector.

The ideal candidate will also have:

• Highly organised and able to work autonomously with little supervision
• Experience of regular giving programmes (ideally both cash direct debit and weekly lottery products)
• Experience in writing campaign briefs (creative, data)
• An analytical and inquisitive mind, with a keen eye for detail

The role

The Corporate and Individual Giving Manager is responsible for generating sustainable income by identifying, engaging with, and securing funding through individuals and corporate donor relationships.

Grant management 

• Act as the first point of contact for grants to organisations.
• Manage a portfolio of organisational grants that deliver our theory of change outcomes.
• Provide full grant management of our organisational grants, including: preparing grant deeds, keeping track of payments and reporting requirements, distilling learning, to grant renewal considerations.
• Organise and conduct regular meetings with funded organisations to learn alongside organisations and see the work in action.
• Implement grant making processes that reflect best practice and encourage learning through our grant making. 
• Keep up-to-date with changes and developments in the external environment and work with colleagues to reflect this in strategy and practice.

Grant programme development 

• Undertaking scoping and research for new grant programmes, and developing practical knowledge about new programme areas as required.
• Providing project management support for new grant programmes alongside the Senior Grants Manager.
• Taking a lead on the negotiation of new grant agreements.
• Managing the day-to-day processes required by any new grant programme from concept through to advertising the fund, assessing grant applications, due diligence, writing recommendation papers to trustees, to awarding funding and gathering and sharing learning.

• Working with the Impact team to develop our monitoring and evaluation capabilities with funded organisations.

Role and Purpose 

To support the development and delivery of the Major Donor and Special Events strategy. To provide a high standard of support to the Major Donor and Special Events team with the current and growing event portfolio and colleagues managing major donor relationships.

Responsibilities: 

• Assisting the Head of Major Donors and Special Events and Special Events Manager in planning, marketing and delivery of our programme of Special Events 

• Sourcing prizes and maintaining a ‘bank’ of prizes with full and accurate information that can be used across events, delivering prize fulfilment with great stewardship for prize winners and in-kind donors 

• Supporting and nurturing strong event committees and senior volunteers providing exceptional volunteer engagement 

• Liaise with suppliers and other stakeholders to ensure events run smoothly and to budget

• Supporting the delivery of the Major Donors strategy and associated programmes of activity, growing the income generated from Major Donors both via events and outside of them 

• Supporting the development of a pipeline of prospects giving at a significant level, leading on prospect research of HNWIs 

• Delivering a consistent and compelling approach to stewardship, identifying stewardship opportunities suitable for major donors, developing positive and lasting relationships with supporters, members and event attendees 

• Preparing briefings and biographies for prospective donors attending events and in advance of meetings, supporting with follow up activity as requested 

• Be the day to day contact for Special Events and Major Donor enquiries 

• Coordinating the creation of materials and collateral for special event materials, major gift campaigns and approaches 

• Undertaking a range of administrative tasks and support across Special Events and Major Donors

• Ensuring all supporter records for events and major donor development plans are kept up to date

• Ensuring GDPR compliant processes and systems are in place to manage, monitor and provide management information for Major Donor and Special Event activity

• Be an advocate for the Lord’s Taverners (LT), our programmes and the impact they have on children and young people 

The position of Chief Operating Officer is an exciting new role within the charity. The last few years have seen Coram’s Fields grow both operationally and financially, and we now employ around 65 staff and in 2024/25 are expecting to turnover c.£2.4 million.

As our organisation and team has grown, so too has the need to strengthen our infrastructure and we are now looking for an experienced and skilled COO, to drive operational improvements across the key areas of HR, Finance and commercial.

Modernising our financial systems and strengthening financial capabilities across our management team will be a focus of the role and you will relish the opportunity to impart your own financial knowledge and skills on those around you, to support the delivery of even better outcomes for the young people we serve.

The success of our financial model is underpinned by just under half our annual income coming from commercial revenue streams. You’ll bring a proven track record of maximising commercial income opportunities, a keen eye for spotting new ones, and the ability to cultivate these into financially rewarding ventures that support our overall sustainability and mission.

To be successful, you'll need to be an outstanding communicator, capable of building relationships with a broad range of stakeholders, from service managers on the ground, to our Trustees.
