Job purpose:

To provide experienced and effective strategic leadership, and operational delivery, of the fundraising and marketing initiatives of The Mix and its trading subsidiary, 127 Trading Ltd, to generate a diverse and sustainable stream of income to enable The Mix to deliver its charitable activities in the years ahead.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic fundraising and marketing professional to develop and execute an ambitious commercial strategy to enable us to provide even greater support to young people in Suffolk.

 Background

The Mix Stowmarket Ltd. is an established youth charity working with young people aged 9–25 across Mid Suffolk. With a committed team, a flagship youth centre, and a trading arm, 127 Trading Ltd, operating two cafés, we’re rooted in community impact and innovation.

We exist to inspire, empower, and support young people to build resilience, thrive, and unlock their full potential. Working from our centre in Stowmarket and a second base in Needham Market, we deliver a diverse range of programmes including youth mentoring, alternative education, school-based support, and open-access youth sessions. Our work is shaped by strong values, a solution-focused’ approach, and a deep belief in the potential of every young person.

Alongside our charitable work, we operate a social enterprise trading arm, 127 Trading Ltd, which runs two cafés that provide training and employment opportunities for young people, whilst generating vital income for our work. With a committed team of staff and volunteers and a passion for partnership, The Mix is a trusted and innovative force for positive youth development in Suffolk.

We have recently appointed our new Chief Executive Officer who takes up post in October 2025. We now seek a strategic and operationally savvy Head of Fundraising and Marketing to support the senior team as they lead The Mix into its next chapter, with prime responsibility to generate a diverse and sustainable stream of income to enable The Mix to deliver its charitable activities in the years ahead.

Overview of the role

As the organisation’s Head of Fundraising and Marketing, you will be an experienced, ambitious, enthusiastic, and dynamic professional, who is passionate about fundraising and maximising income generation.

Working closely with our new CEO and committed trustees and staff, you will develop and implement fundraising and marketing strategies that align to our vision and drive the expansion of our crucial support to young people in Suffolk.

You will have a thorough understanding of planning, organising, and delivering successful fundraising campaigns, initiatives, and events with a strong attention-to-detail. You will be comfortable working at a leadership and strategic level but also unafraid to roll up your sleeves and create bids, funding proposals, and marketing materials.

You will be a natural ambassador, working with the CEO to build partnerships at the local and regional level, and your ambassadorial skills will help raise our profile and leverage our networks and connections.

The Head of Fundraising and Marketing is responsible for the day-to-day marketing and management oversight of The Mix and 127 Trading Ltd and the management of its marketing staff and budgets.

Main Responsibilities

1. Strategic leadership

· Develop and lead the multi-channel fundraising and marketing strategy to meet agreed income targets and support 

         long-term sustainability for both The Mix and 127 Trading Ltd.

· Work closely with the CEO and Trustees, to align fundraising efforts with the strategic goals of the charity and bring               insight into income generation and stakeholder engagement.

· Actively contribute to the senior leadership team, shaping organisational policies and strategic direction, ensuring the           integration of fundraising, marketing and operational activities.

2. Fundraising and income generation

· Drive the development of diverse income streams, including major donor fundraising, corporate partnerships,                         individual giving, legacies, lotteries, community fundraising and events.

· Proactively seek new opportunities to secure long-term, multi-year funding through well-targeted funding applications           and corporate proposals.

· Build strong partner relationships with a focus on stewardship, retention, and growth.

· Monitor performance, analyse data, and drive continuous improvement.

· Chair the Fundraising sub-committee and contribute to the Data, Impact and Evidence Action Group

· Responsible for completion of all bids, grants and funding applications and ensuring that funders receive appropriate             ongoing feedback.
 

3. Marketing and communications

· Develop marketing materials and campaigns that effectively communicate the charity’s mission, vision and                             achievements to various audiences for both The Mix and 127 Trading Ltd.

· Lead the management of digital platforms, ensuring consistent and inspiring content across all channels, including the           website, social media, email and printed materials.

· Ensure that brand messaging is consistent, clear and aligned across The Mix and 127 Trading Ltd to enhance public             recognition and reputation.

· Grow awareness of the charity at a local and regional level, monitoring success through market research.

· Develop compelling narratives and stories of the charity’s impact to engage partners and encourage continued                     support.

4. Team leadership and development

· Lead and develop the Fundraising & Marketing team, fostering a collaborative and positive culture.

· Mentor and support team members in achieving their professional development goals, ensuring they attain business             objectives.

· Regularly monitor and review team performance to meet income generation and communication objectives.

5. Operational excellence

· Ensure compliance with data protection laws, fundraising regulations and ethical guidelines across all fundraising and           marketing activities.

· Review and improve the use of the website and develop systems to track donor engagement, monitor income and                 ensure data integrity and transparency.

· Work closely with finance and operations teams to oversee the management and monitoring of fundraising targets.

·Work closely with the Youth Work team to provide insight to funding opportunities available and marketing and                       fundraising activities occurring.

We also look for smaller grants during the course of the year, including for food for our residents and supplies for our art groups, and we hope to recruit volunteers to assist with some elements of this work.

Job Purpose

To oversee successful fundraising, with a focus on grants and individual giving, and to ensure effective communication that supports YMCA Doncaster in sustaining current work and launching new projects.

Main Responsibilities

• To create compelling long form content including website articles, information for print material, case studies, media releases and similar.
• To create and update cases for support for YMCA Doncaster’s fundable projects and general running costs.
• To be responsible for an assigned portfolio of trusts, foundations and similar, developing knowledge of, and relationships with, those funders.
• To make strong applications to funders within the assigned portfolio, matching YMCA Doncaster’s agreed cases for support with funders’ interests and requirements.
• To create, publicise and monitor outcomes of new giving campaigns and / or fundraising events. 
• To nurture key external stakeholders including potential supporters from the local business community, the media and others as appropriate.
• To prepare and give presentations, maintain ongoing contact and host trustee or representative visits where required as part of fundraising work.
• To devise efficient evaluation and monitoring systems which meet funder requirements.
• To oversee the accurate completion of returns and reports, ensuring that funders are satisfied and funding continues.
• To keep comprehensive records, in an agreed format, from initial contact with a potential funder through to either the rejection correspondence or the funding agreement and subsequent monitoring and evaluation.
• To utilise email joiner sequences, bulletins and round-ups to move people from a single connection towards being a warm and committed part of YMCA Doncaster.
• To work to a planned calendar of publicity and launches across all products and services. 
• To ensure that staff and volunteers joining YMCA Doncaster are encouraged to contribute to positive communications and fundraising efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership 

• Lead the corporate fundraising programme at Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity, working closely with the Director of Fundraising & Communications, Director of Development, and Brand & Marketing Manager. 

• Deliver an ambitious corporate partnerships strategy that supports both regional (aligned with Roald Dahl Nurse locations) and national growth.

Corporate Partnership Development

Performance & Financial Management 

• Track, analyse and report on income, ROI, and engagement across all corporate partnerships. 

• Manage the corporate fundraising income and expenditure, reporting performance against forecasts. 

• Maintain oversight of all contractual agreements and partnership terms for corporate partnerships and cause-related marketing. 

Cross-Team Collaboration & Support 

• Work collaboratively across the Fundraising and Communications team to deliver a calendar of corporate fundraising events, campaigns, and activity. 

• Contribute content and stories to the charity’s website, newsletter, annual review, and other external communications. 

• Ensure strong collaboration with the Programmes Team to develop impactful narratives.

This is a new role at Befriending Networks, as we seek someone who is up for the challenge of fundraising to support the continuation of our work in supporting the network of befriending organisations and ensuring that meaningful social connection is available to all.

We are looking for an experienced community fundraiser to join Scope at an exciting time. This brand-new role will work across teams to develop our income from individuals, local groups, and businesses.

You will lead a team of two, helping them set clear goals and track progress. You will also make sure that our fundraisers and volunteers have a great experience, so they will want to keep supporting us in the future.

The role

As Community Fundraising Lead, you will play a central role in helping Scope achieve its mission to create a fairer society for disabled people. You will lead the strategic development and delivery of Scope's Community Fundraising programme, ensuring it is inclusive, impactful and aligned with our values.

You will:

· Develop and implement Scope's Community Fundraising strategy, identifying opportunities that reflect the diversity of local communities

· Lead and support a high performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, learning and continuous improvement

· Build and nurture relationships with supporters, volunteers and stakeholders, ensuring everyone feels welcomed, respected and supported

· Monitor and report on fundraising performance, budgets and key milestones, helping to shape future plans and drive income growth

· Collaborate with colleagues across Scope to ensure fundraising activities are inclusive, accessible and aligned with our charitable goals

· Stay informed about sector trends and bring fresh, inclusive ideas to our fundraising approach

· Ensure all fundraising activity is compliant with relevant regulations and Scope's internal policies

You will report to the Head of Supporter Led Fundraising and work closely with teams across Fundraising, Brand and Marketing, Retail, Services and Strategy.

About the role

As Fundraising Executive you will raise agreed income by developing relationships with existing supporters, creating and building links with new supporters, and raising awareness of the cause within their defined area.

You will provide support to the Community Fundraising Lead, working within the wider fundraising division. As a key member of the team, the Fundraising Executive will implement the fundraising strategy for the Charity, inclusive of both in person and online community engagement methods, leading on activity within the Staffordshire region.

Your focus will be to ensure income growth from community sources and activity comprising of individuals, community groups, schools and small community businesses.

About You

Relationships are central to this role and we need you to be a great relationship builder. You should have experience in the following;

• Experience of building and maintaining successful relationships with customers, clients or supporters
• Experience of working in a customer service role
• Experience of general office administration and support

About the role

As Director of Fundraising, you will lead and inspire our fundraising team, driving multi-million-pound income across philanthropy, individual giving, legacies, corporate partnerships, community fundraising and events. Job purpose

1. Assist the management of Able Child’s brand and external communications, with high quality content.

2. Assist the management of Able Child’s portfolio of fundraising events.

3. Assist the delivery of our individual giving programme, supporting other forms of community and Trusts and Foundations fundraising.

4. Provide other support to the Fundraising and Communications Team as agreed, including supporting routine office operations.

Key accountabilities

Assist the management of Able Child’s brand and external communications, with high quality content.

1. Along with the team, manage Able Child’s social channels, working with external suppliers when applicable, to maintain a professional and engaging external brand.

2. Support the management of a vibrant and responsive website by ensuring content is up to date, professional and engaging; supporting the collection of imagery, videos, case studies and blogs where directed.

3. Produce and distribute Able Child’s quarterly newsletter, contributing with high quality written content and complying with organisational data protection and confidentiality standards.

Assist the management of Able Child’s portfolio of fundraising events.

4. Assist with the delivery of Able Child’s events portfolio when required. This includes but is not exclusive to the London Marathon, the Gala Dinner, the Children’s 10k walk and the Charity Golf Day.

5. Market the events, recruiting, retaining and communicating with participants to support the achievement of income targets.

6. Support with donor stewardship activities post event, engaging new regular donors and supporters to grow our incomes streams.

Assist the delivery of other fundraising work, including but not exclusive to Trusts & Foundations, individual giving and community fundraising.

7. Support the attainment of funds from a variety of Trusts and Foundations, through submitting high quality applications.

8. Support Able Child's individual giving programme, assisting with donor communications, building relationships with donors and growing our income.

9. Support community fundraising activities, empowering existing and newly sourced supporters to independently generate funds through independent events and activities.

Provide other support to the Fundraising and Communications and wider operational teams as agreed, including supporting routine office operations.

10. Maintain our Salesforce database, keeping detailed records of communications, support and donations from individuals and organisations.

11. Support our advocacy objectives, working with the Advocacy team to produce high quality and consistent messaging for use within the international development sector.

12. Support the delivery of unique and ongoing operational activities as required for the effective running of the organisation.

Competencies

Experience

1. At least one years’ experience in a fundraising, communications, marketing or sales support role or similar.

2. Experience of managing or supporting the management of events to, ideally including managing volunteers or supporters to raise funds.

3. Experience or knowledge of writing funding applications, ideally with a demonstrable track record of securing funds from Trusts and Foundations.

Skills and Technical Competencies

4. Creative ability to assist in the production of engaging content for communication in line with the organisational brand and mission.

5. Competency in managing social channels under direction, developing newsletters and other blogs or articles.

6. Basic understanding of WordPress, and other design packages (Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva) desirable.

8. Excellent time management and organisational skills; ability to work under pressure to prioritise and manage varied workload and competing deadlines whilst ensuring attention to detail.
